1.
Meanwhile, my ears are ringing. Not sure if it's because I'm being bad-mouthed somewhere on the planet, or if it's an inevitable result of too many modal notes. What's that you said..? Jizz and Jatz..? Weren't they a popular double act on the Blackpool summer season scene, back then..? The name seems oddly familiar. Beaver fur coats and straw boaters, as I recall. Quite funny, too, by all accounts.
Lol.
 2.
Ta! And BangBangRomeo were remarking on my Star Wars theme; Figrin D'an and the modal notes were a band in an early Star Wars movie - they were masters of the Jizz and Jatz musical forms. Max Rebo was the leader of a rival band (in Return of the Jedi), hence the 2-fingered salute to Figrin!
aaaaahhhhhh!!!!!!!
 3.
I've replaced the link just in case, but it works for me! Yer tis again: https://soundcloud.c...s-weed/xenofunk And Douglas tends not to like my more "tuneless" (or modal, as I call it ) offerings, though this month we've got a drum solo and some Stevie Wonder-ish clavinet!
sorted, playing fine now....
 4.
Here's mine, with 3 basses (all Wal), keyboards and EZ drummer on beats... Don't forget to do your vogueing during the drum solo! https://soundcloud.c...s-weed/xenofunk
its playing now, Ive no idea what Dad is talking about. Its a marvel to the ears. Excellence as usual Mr Smalls. Dad, you can stick your apostrophes up your semicolon.
 5.
Next week we'll show you where to find the 'apostrophe' symbol.
A Panda walks into a cafe............
 6.
'Syour fault for not doing things like what everyone else does, innit..!
Must say I agree, please forgive me if Im killing the smileys at the moment,
 7. I rarely post on the main site and post primarily instead, on the mobile site from my phone. often I have been amazed by the ingenuity of peoples smileys and marvelled at their extensive knowledge of the vast array of commands one must master to achieve such expression through the art of smiley. That is...... until a moment ago I found the smiley icon on the main site. Frauds.
 8.
You're lucky; I could.
Douglas you rascal........ no love for the badass weed this month then??????? I'm going to reserve judgement until I hear it for myself, its usually one of my favourite entries.

 12.
Maybe it might be an idea to start a thread with links on free Kontakt patches, for both the full version and the free player version. There is a ton of interesting stuff out there.
Great idea. I have logic X. Are kontact and logic compatible and how would go about using kontact in conjunction with my logic app. In response to what type of brass/horns I'd like to download. I'd like to get some funky motowny stuff if that makes sense.
 13. Any recommendations for good horns or brass. What's the best available and also as a comparison what's the best value.
 14.
Hi everyone I just found this topic and just felt I should give you my reply. It is such a can of worms to try and explain how or why I behave the way I do but ultimately everything I say or do is driven by "doing the right thing". In life you will never be able to do the right thing by every person and so the best way I can explain this is with way of examples of 2 comments about my business. This will be a brilliant way to demonstrate the frustration of "trying" to do the right thing by everyone... Milky Bar Kid said "The only negative to visiting the shop is that he can't bear to leave a phone ringing even when dealing with a customer, which can be a bit irritating." I was aware of this myself so I put in a system where by the phone would ring 4 times and would go to voice mail so I could call the customer back. As a result of this change I then got the following review on Google... https://www.google.c...5,-95.677068,4z Sounds damning - until I did some digging and found this guy runs a business that is literally trashed online for customer service with a 2 star average on Facebook! The Pissed Consumer site charges $1500 PER overview process of false reviews. You will see its been visiting tens of thousands of times and the handful of "complaints" are only there because their website is ranked #2 on Google below mine when you search for my domain name. I think ANY business would be proud of such a tiny ratio of complaints especially as they are completely unsolicited. I sell 2-3 guitars a day, every day, 7 days a week. Every guitar is set up to the customers personal requirement pre sale, I personally play test the guitar and pack it to ensure it arrives how it should. As stated I am immensely passionate about my work. Its my life - why wouldn't I be? Its how I remain so busy! The World of retail works against all my life principals and ethos in life but I have managed to channel a unique way to balance the 2 together in harmony. My business is all about honesty. If that makes me look unprofessional in someones eyes I would be very happy to discuss it on here. The Gordon-Smith scenario is one of many examples I could chat about. There is always a lot more going on behind the scenes that I DONT post in order to protect my working relationship - which in turn makes me feel dishonest to my customers! Hence the balancing act. If I stop selling a product on the grounds of quality it would be ludicrous for me not to demonstrate exactly why I made the decision. Taking Gordon Smith as an example however, 2 years after ceasing the sale of these guitars I have now been invited to be one of just 6 stores in the UK to represent the brand under the new ownership. They came to me BECAUSE of what they read. They realised I was the one and ONLY shop who stuck to my principles and would not sell a product that became more home made than hand made in its latter years. For this reason they knew I was the right person to work with. Life always has balance and for the few I upset there will be many many more who benefit I promise. Regrettably bass is not my main focus in store so I tend to recommend people to alternative sources for bass guitars but thanks for listening and IF you do want to order a bass online from me from the few that I do focus on (G&L, Godin, Cort) you would be in very safe hands. Happy to answer any questions about my business practice if anyone wants to know and happy to chat about any review you have seen on Pissed Consumer - especially the one I wrote about myself locking customers in the basement - I couldn't resist!!! http://www.rguitars.co.uk
What an excellent and open response. If I'm ever over your way I'll be sure to pop in and have a browse. You also sound like the type of guy I'd like to do business with.
 15. Mine is getting there. Pretty low end gut rumbling stuff. Currently working on lyrics but the backing track is complete. Feeling good about it but that doesn't mean much. It's probably dreadful self absorbed nonsense.
 16. Slow down guys. Two awesome entities so far. It's enough to turn anybody off even trying to top those. Alas we must endeavour. Got my core track down today. I'm gonna try and be stripped back and minimalistic as is possible on this one. Got a day or so next week so I will pick things up then. Good luck to all.
 17. I'm going to try and get an entry for this month. What a photo.
 18. Sorry, I know this thread has been dead a while but had to share. Above.
 19.
Muscle Shoals one was fantastic. I could watch that again for sure.
Outstanding, watched it last night. What a sound and what a story. Blew me away. Highly recommend. (Muscle Shoals)
 20. Great reviews as usual Douglas. I will try harder next month.
 21.
Even so, the song to which you refer is a cover recorded and filmed in less than 24 hours for charity.
This always cracks me up. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_li_d_YviZ4
 22.
Pretty raucous..! In the best possible way, though; good stuff. Just a bit of a shock when it first bursts in..!
There's about 30secs of an intro that never uploaded for some reason. Sorry bout dat.
 23.
Good gracious..! Be warned that the level of volume is rather higher than some other entries, so be careful when first launching. Well worth the listen (and more still..!), but a shock when using headphones in a quiet room..!
Yeah I know..... Sorry......I'm not sure what happened. I'd normally mess about with the levels etc for a bit but I didn't have time so it's pretty raw.
 24. I'm in. This is what 1hr and 15mins gets you in the boy household. I'm not very proud of it. Nor do I think it's worthy of any votes but it's the taking part that counts. Enjoy...... That's a bit hopeful but anyway have a listen it won't kill ya. I'm certain of that. https://m.soundcloud.com/theboysings/i-loved-her-since-we-were
