Does it handle feedback well at higher volumes? Nice bass
Thanks. It sounds a good as it looks too and pelham really suits this style of bass but for some reason Gibson discontinued the colour pretty early. I had a feedback issue with my old hofner so that was one to the main things I looked out for and kept in mind when i bought it. I'm happy to say that feed back isn't an issue!

  5. I've had a couple of rare-ish basses before which I've imported from the USA. I had a beautiful custom G&L JB2 bass which at the time was a brand you'd never see over here. I haven't ever seen another USA JB2 in the flesh in the UK and especially not one as beatiful as the one I had! Currently I have a beautiful Pelham Blue Gibson Midtown bass and I was told by the shop i ordered it from that I was lucky to get it as they more or less discontinued the pelham blue model after they offered them for sale (true but mad as its the most beautiful version!). He told me that no others had been officially imported (sales ploy?). Anyway it sounds great, looks cool and because of its rareness I thought it would be a sound investment! Since getting it I have only used it once and now I'm starting to think it may be best if I do get rid of it and buy something else that I may use more...decisions!

  7. Mansons Guitar Shop in Exeter stock and sell Eden but I wouldn't bother looking on their website as its still being developed. best to give them a call for prices. I did go looking for a nice 4x10 eden cab but all the shops I went to in and around London said they had stopped selling EDEN and one said it was down to some commercial dispute with marshalls. Anyway, I think marshall are being picky about who sells there products and are taking their time relaunching EDEN. GAK in Brighton also have 0ne 4x10 cab
  8. I have tried the ES 335 bass and they are beautiful but I own a Gibson pelham blue Midtown Bass and overall I prefer the midtowns sounds personally. I also own a Gibson Les Paul standard bass (weighs a ton) and the ES 335 is basically a larger hollowbody version with same pickups etc. Saying that I still want one in my Gibson collection but they are selling for £1699 at the moment and I can't justify that when i have the midtown to meet all my hollowbody bass needs!
  9. I assume this has sold but worth checking? #
  10. Yeah I know what you meant. I was having a think about what Basses I would be interested in but there really isn't a bass around that i want and havent got so I'm gonna have to say no to the trade..
  11. Haven't considered the trade... will have a think about that
  12. Victor recently purchased an 8 string Dean Rhapsoday Bass from me. it was a smooth sale with prompt payment and collection of bass as well as great communication! Sell or buy from him with confidence. Enjoy the Bass Victor!
  13. I have for sale my beautiful American G&L JB2 Bass guitar. This bass is one of a kind and I’m sure you’ll agree looks amazing… a real head turner! It’s the American made model (not the Tribute) and the shop I imported it from in America said they had it Specially ordered in. I have never seen another G&L like this one and certainly not in this finish so it stands out as being cool looking. This is my main bass at the moment and it breaks my heart to sell it but it has got to be sold! Cost me a fortune to import with all these taxes but it was well worth it in the end. I have always been a big Fender Jazz Bass fan and after hearing good things about G&L I decided to import this beauty from the U.S. about 2 & half years ago. I was right to do so as it more than competed with the fender I played at the time in both looks, playability and tone. This bass is extremely reliable & well built (6 bolts for the bolt on neck), a real work horse if needed and as with most jazz basses it’s very versatile. A major plus with this instrument is that it is lightweight so no suffering from backaches when you play those long 3 hour sets ;-) General Bass details: PICKUPS 2 G&L vintage Alnico jazz type pickups (Passive) BODY WOOD Alder on Standard and all solid finishes, Swamp Ash on all Premier finishes NECK WOOD Hard Rock Maple with Maple fingerboard with no inlay dots or blocks. NECK RADIUS 12" (304.8mm) NECK WIDTH AT NUT 1 1/2" (38.1mm) TUNING KEYS Custom G&L "Ultra-Lite" with aluminum tapered string posts BRIDGE G&L Saddle Lock with chrome-plated brass saddles CONTROLS Two volume controls, one tone control FINISH Natural Quilted maple top OTHER Chrome hardware, no pickguard, Official certificate of ownership of American G&L Bass JB2 also comes with a Deluxe Hardshell Tolex Case w/Fitted Interior (Case has slight crack in it but this does not affect its use in any way). Apart from a few minor scuffs on the back off the body from belt buckles this bass is in top condition with no chips. It has great action, is currently strung with rotosound piano wound strings (also known as superwound) & has been extremely well looked after with set ups every 6-8 months since I bought it. (More photos below!)
  14. Beautiful bass. I have a Custom USA version and it's such a well built and great sounding bass. I think anyone that likes Fenders or Musicmans would be more then happy with one of these! Good luck selling it!

  19.
I have friends visiting next week from your neck of the woods so I may call in a favor how flexible are you on you asking?
I'll be honest with you, £150 is about as low as I will go on this bass as its in great condition and more then a bargain at that price. Its just been sitting in a room for a while.
  20.
Where are you located? Are you able to arrange delivery?
I am located in South London (Bromley). Ideally it would be pick up or I could meet locally (In London) but I can look into getting an idea on postage costs if you give me details!
  21.
Ooh that's a looker!
Yeah it sure is but Its got to go as I never use it. Beautiful shape...something a little different!
  22. Beautiful hollowbody fretted bass with great sound. Only gigged once and used on recordings. In top condition! Don't think these are made any longer. This bass is basically as new and hardly played....tuners still have plastic cover on them! I imported it from the USA about 3 years ago but never made much use of it apart from the odd recording. The Info & reviews: Beautifully Sculptured Basses - An exquisite instrument with features typically found on custom basses. Features:

8 String
Bubinga Top
Mahogany Body
34" Scale & 1-3/4" Nut
Black Chrome Bridge
Black Grover Tuners
EMG-HZ Pickups w/ Dean 3D Preamp
Dean 2 Piece Anchor Bridge System
Bolt-on Maple & Walnut Neck
Rosewood Fingerboard
Abalone Dot Inlays
24 Frets
Dean designers equipped the Rhapsody 8 with a pair of EMG-HZ Pickups and a custom Dean 3D Preamp to accurately reproduce the wide range of tones that come from an 8-string. You'll love the swirling grain pattern of the African Bubinga top and the great dynamic range that comes from select Mahogany body. The bolt-on neck is made of Maple and paired with a 24-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Intonation and tuning could be a nightmare on an 8-string but the Dean 2 Piece Anchor Bridge System and a set of Grover tuners keep the Rhapsody 8 in line. I have had this bass for about 3 years and with the exception of using it on a few recordings I have hardly used it. Its a beautiful bass and in more or less mint condition but I don't really have no need for it for the bands i'm in. The bass was has been set up and is easy to play with plectrum or fingers. With this bass who needs a guitarist in the band? ;-)
