  1. I have one of these myself and its awesome. I've seen them sell for a higher price then that too so someone will get a treat when they buy this rare beauty! (I had read it was 400 of all 3 colours rather then per colour so may want to check that) GLWTS!
  2. What a beauty and a bargain at that price! I have one from the Custom Shop in Sonic Blue and the build quality is off the charts! Pick ups can be pretty hot but this is a hell of a lot of bass for the money and anyone who is looking for a decent Fender Jazz should look at one of these USA Models. Its keeping it in the Leo Fender family after all! GLWS
  3. On a further google search it appears to be an area close to the Fullerton factory so I assume thats why it has been used. Still, could of thought of something better and yes, it sounds close to Placenta so hopefully no marketing mishaps!
  4. Just spotted that G&L are doing a new range called the Placentia series which basically don't have the G&L bridge. Wonder who came up with the name? https://www.guitarcenter.com/GL/Placentia-Series-JB-Electric-Bass-Vintage-White-1500000361332.gc
  5. Just spotted on the Bass Gallery facebook page that they have lovely looking USA LB 100 up for sale https://www.facebook.com/commerce/products/gandl-lb-100---fullerton-deluxe/4857568987642577?ref=photo_fullscreen&referral_code=product_tag_on_photo_fullscreen_4762748940471396%2350888c8b-1d6c-404e-99a7-4881a1b95a12
  6. I don't know the exact weight but I personally didn't find the weight that much of an issue and it balanced beautifully. The SB-1 was certainly lighter but then the body is smaller and the feel just it wasn't for me. I loved the MFD pick ups though, very powerful! The LB Pick ups were less powerful but had a nice classic P bass sound about them. I don't think my G&L JB is that heavy either although I am used to playing Gibson Les Paul Basses which are very heavy in comparison.
  7. I came very close to buying that myself. Well done on grabbing a beautiful Instrument! Always wanted to know how it sounds compared to a Stingray 4HH.
  8. That's a beauty, Is this the one from Bass Direct? The Sledgehammer Sabre?
  9. I tried this Bass out before Christmas and was totally blown away by it. I still don't know how I managed to walk out the shop without it! I have a G&L Custom Shop JB so I know how good these basses are and the high quality they are built to. The neck on this bass was so smooth and easy to play and the thump from that pick up was beautiful. I played some Jamerson bass lines and it really fell into place. I'm a fan of the MFD Pick ups (also tried an SB1) but the stock pick up on this really delivered. Had it been a different colour I think I would of snapped it up. G&L are like a mini custom shop with hand built high quality basses being turned out under £2k. If it had Fender on the headstock you'd be looking at closer to double the price. I just don't understand how they aren't a lot better known in the UK.

  13. I managed to get a fender gig bag for their starcaster bass and that did the job well. Manson guitars also had an acoustic bass case that it fit in as well..
  14. Thank you. It's gorgeous but too far down the pecking order to keep now.

  18. Gorgeous bass! I have a custom shop version in sonic blue and it has the most amazing neck and feel. GLWS!
  19. Don't understand why they won't reproduce the 4005 bass due to cost but but are then happy to come out with this? Anyway, would love to hear this!
  20. I saw it on the following Talk Bass page https://www.talkbass.com/threads/for-the-g-l-fans.1494806/ (attached photo from there but its not mine) I contacted Andertons to try and order some but they said they aren't available at the Moment so I expect they'll do a big launch later in the year.
  21. Couple of custom options they recently had for sale at Guitar Guitar.. https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/product/190123337976008--gl-usa-jb-emerald-green-metallic-mint-pickguard-mn https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/product/190123337978008--gl-usa-jb-shell-pink-creme-pickguard-cr I just missed out on the Green which looks amazing!
  22. Beautiful looking bass! Im surprised it didn"t come with a case too. I know guitar guitar had a couple of custom shop models for £1300_ish ( green sparkle & shell pink) that came with a case but I guess some dont. Here's a couple of photos of mine.
  23. Bit late to the party but I got a custom Built G&L USA JB in sonic blue a couple of years ago. Price for a custom build was amazing considering the quality of the build and the playability. I love my Fender Jazz Bass but you'd pay a hell of a lot more for a USA Fender and I think the G&L is actually much better and I always get comments from people.on it both the look and sound! I hear they will be offering MFD pick ups for JBs next year too. Anyway, not too many of the USA models in the UK so probably get a lot of Fender enthusiasts slating them without trying them but I'd say they are well worth the money and well underrated.
  24. Not seen one that colour ... certainly best colour yet and an awesome bass too. Love the Yamaha Colour as well, you have good taste sir!! :-)
