  1. Yeah 90 means 90000yen which was the price and therefore spec description, ie it's a good one. I don't think 89 on sn signifies anything other than it being part of the unit number that this bass is as part of all the E series instruments across all ranges. Time wise it's 84-87 as when the E series was in production. I've had 2 E series basses and both were really well made and played as great as their reputation suggests.
  2. £12 in today's money!
  3. No regrets. It's a journey.
  4. I'd take the Hofner because I've never played one 😄
  5. Skin Tight Boogie - Eagles Of Death Metal
  6. That's why I took artistic licence and dropped it, being the rock n roll rebel that I am.
  7. https://blackstaramps.com/fly-bass/ I have no experience with the ones you mentioned but I love my Fly3 for doing the same job. Plus I can play at volume when circumstances allow. Fits in a gigbag and only 60-odd quid too!
  8. Eastbound and Down - Jerry Reed
  9. Oh you cynical old lot! It is what it is in the time that it is. A worthy job done well. I think it's great because I accept it by not expecting anything from it. Besides, nothing's gonna change my world...
  10. Jurassic Shift - Ozric Tentacles
  11. Baskerville Day - Rush 🙃
  12. Croaker - Joy Division* *edit - I see now how this might look. No unkindness intended. I was innocently thinking about frogs just to clarify. 🐸
  13. All of the above. There were tears. Good ones.
  14. Firstly Jon and Jo my heart felt condolences to you both... I had lost my enthusiasm too, due to family bereavement and the free-fallout that followed. My advice is to find some new music to inspire you that is in the now and has no memories attached. It's a fresh step forward. I recently found out that this young lad exists - Ren. He's inspired the hell out of me. I recommend checking him out if you haven't heard of him. Maybe you have - I've only just crawled back out from under my rock after all. There's no bass on this one and there is swearing, but it's well placed.
  15. I concur. First sip is basically half a pint. Unless it's that extra cold rubbish. Then it's a dark dark sound due to brain freeze 😆
  16. Once In A Lifetime - Talking Heads So simple, so good.
  17. First step would be to get whatever bass you have set up correctly - nice low action (so the strings are not really high off the fingerboard), nut slots are cut correctly for the same reason and to ensure that the intonation is good (so what you play sounds good and in tune). Making sure all this is done first will ensure that your learning experience will be a pleasant and fun one seeing that you won't have to fight the instrument needlessly. I wish I knew this when I started learning! I would have progressed a lot quicker if I had known.
