Can you send me your prescription please, I want some of what you're on. Your world seems far more fun than mine

I make sure my backup basses are actually ones I would play now and again to just mix it up a bit and give them some worth so they don't just sit there doing nothing. So my main bass is a Fender Jazz 75 American Vintage reissue and my back up is a Fender Jazz CIJ 66 Reissue. The later bass I have had for 30 years but is the best bass I have ever owned so I just flip flop between the two. My other backup is a Fender FSR 70's Precision which I play occasionally but I am having a fretless board made for it so its then going to become the back up for my Limelight 1960 Fretless Jazz that's due any day now. So my two back up basses are good enough to be played as main basses and I do use them all but are not quite as high quality or as financially valuable. What about a Musicman Sub Ray5? They are good basses and around £350 new.

Are the RM cabs heavy as well? I was considering a couple of the 1x12 cabs.

I still have no idea how to get the dials on the EQ to work. The sliders work great but the silver dials in the middle either side do absolutely nothing hahaha

Yes, I totally love gigging. For me, its about playing music, that's the enjoyment and why I do it, I'm playing music and that's all that maters. I'm doing what I love and I've been doing it for 32 years now and I'm only 49. I started out in original bands and had a little success. That died and formed a new band that ended up getting signed and we had a minor hit and all the trimmings of being in a signed band touring etc. That ended and joined a few other bands with some minor success. Then I stopped for a few years and got asked to join a very busy covers band which is a totally different kettle of fish to the original band environment but equally as enjoyable. I'm now earning good money, have an audience every gig who get up and dance the night away and we get chased for gigs, no more "give us a gig please". The only thing missing is the creativity of writing new songs but the other side sure does make up for it. On average I play around 100 gigs a years and I love it.

I must admit, I really dont like the whole MarkBass styling of late. It's very gaudy and childlike. I think these 2 are quite simple in design. The Epifani looks functional, no thrills high end hifi and the Fender is simple with a slight retro look about it.

I've actually got an Ashdown MiBass 500 head as my back up and I must say, its probably the best sounding Class D amp I've used. I've had a a LM3, Shuttle 6, Shuttle 9, Reidmar and a few others and they've all left me wanting and a little disappointed. The Ashdown has been great so far and I've not been disappointed at all. I wonder if the MiBass shares any similarities with the Rootmaster heads.

I've actually just gone back to the Hartke HA5500 head. I used to have one back when they first came out in the late 90's and it was a fabulous head. One came up last year on Ebay and I got it for £150. Sold my MarkBass LM3 and dont regret it, it's just a bit bigger and heavier but sounds fabulous.

Mark my words, he'll take this to a new level or else they'll be in hot water and he'll give them a slap, then what will the children say 😊

I've tried the Marcus head back to back with my LM3 and it was way better. A lot more dynamic and cleaner sounding. A lot more punch and tonal definition.

Ooohh I think I need an Ebow. I love this sort of stuff.

I do like the look of the Little Mark Vintage head.

Police 1980 - flatwound or roundwound?
Linus27 replied to Peter Maxwell Wright's topic in Accessories and Misc
Sounds like flats to me. -
Have emailed Jon already but thank you.

Yeah, that is exactly what I'm after but not sure I'd risk it either.

Hi, I would like to get a maple fretless neck made for my natural Fender Precision bass. The idea is so it's a replica of Sting's fretless maple Fender Precision as seen in the pictures. Apart from Jon Shuker, are there any other options available to me? I'm in the south so a bit of a trek to head up to Shuker although I would if it's the best option. Thanks in advance for the help.

NOW SOLD For sale is my mk1 Fender Precision Mike Dirnt bass in super rare yellow. I am so reluctant to sell this bass as its so beautiful and the most gorgeous bass I have ever owned but it really isn't getting used. It just sits at home looking pretty. As standard it comes with a Badass II bridge and Fender custom 59 split coil pickups which sound incredible. Open the treble full and you get that amazing punky Precision clank and roll it back and you get a nice, deep, thumpy Motown tone. The bass is in mint condition and as new and is beautifully set up. I am in Camberley in Surrey and any trial is welcome. I would like £700 and happy to ship at buyers cost.

Clarky, keep us posted on how you get on with the MojoMojo please. I'm really interested in this pedal now and it would be good to hear your thoughts before taking the plunge myself.

I've had the exact same with our guitarist when I used a Smoothound and my G30. Our guitarist has a G30 also and we are on different channels.

I have the HA5500 and these amps are wonderful. I bought one when they first came out in the late 90's and have bought another in the last year and it is truly amazing. So much versatility with the contour filters are brilliant. Someone will get a great amp head and at a great price. Good luck with the sale.
