  1. I've always used Roqsolid covers. Very reliable and hard wearing. So if the covers are anything to go by, then the bags should be just as good....
  2. Small baby steps, one step at a time. Eventually you'll start to recognise the shape in front of you and it will become second nature. Same question as Bilbo above: How much time are you dedicating to it?
  3. Thanks for all your recommendations so far. As always the case I'm waiting on one band member to get back to about available dates.
  4. I've also got a TU3. As previously said, a little dull in bright sunshine but still readable. At light light it's as clear as a bell. I found that it ate battery life so would recommend mains power.
  5. Hi, Can anyone recommend a recording studio situated anywhere from Milton Keynes upto the West Midlands? Yes, there are plenty touting their skills on the web but I'd rather hear of any recommendations from here if possible. We are a five piece wedding / function band (female vocals, keyboards, guitar, bass, drums, backing vocals) looking to record 2-3 tracks (covers) for marketing purposes. We did the same last year and went to a studio blind. Never again! Has to be friendly and relaxed with an engineer who knows his stuff! We are not on a budget as such, well yes we are, but we are after a quality recording and understand you get what you pay for. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.....
  6. Love it. I've just put the kettle on in preparation to start doing mine. Cheers for sharing...
  7. Pics...... I can't upload anymore. Send me your email address via PM and I'll forward some on.....
  8. Likewise the SR300. I sold mine on eBay a few years back for £150 so it may give you an indication of prices.
  9. I'll pass Number 4 onto our drummer... He's got more metal around him than a scrap yard!!!
  10. On the High Hat side. Also helps for the backing vocals as we can see each other's mouths moving (we really should sit down and learn them though)!!!
  11. These are superb basses for the money. The neck profile is the best I've played to date.... Good luck
  12. As part of a recent cull, I'm putting my Status 'The Groove' 5 string bass up for sale. Condition is used, but very good. Superficial scratches and a nick to the top of the headstock. No missing finish. The neck on this is absolutely superb. I initially bought it from a fellow basschatter as a spare backup bass. I was so blown away by the feel of the neck I have used it as my main bass of choice ever since. But, it's time to go... 34" Scale Rosewood Fingerboard Active / Passive selector switch 18mm STring Spacing Graphite re-inforced neck Black high gloss body Dunlop Strap Locks Recently fitted D'Addario XL's Collection from Dunstable, Bedfordshire. £280
  13. Have a look at the Schroeder SP12's. Absolutely awesome. Light as a feather and by far the best cabs I've used so far... They came shipped direct Schroeders in California but even with import tax etc they were well worth it and no more expensive than the other contenders out there.
  14. As already mentioned, break it up into small segments or divide into natural phrases. Not too long though. Slow the speed down and then gradually speed up once you've got it cracked. If the tempo reads eg. 120 bpm, I'll aim to be able to play it at 130+ so that it all fits nicely... Good luck...
  15. If Frankenstein played guitar and all that....
