1.
It's a bit of work, but strip the active set-up out of it, and throw it away. I found the active configuration on these Basses a bit TOO active and sensitive, if you know what I mean? I shoved 'real' passive Precision and Jazz pickups in mine, and it's a hell of a lot closer to the real thing.
I find on just about any bass I leave the active controls flat (wonder why I keep buying active basses really), though find you can tweak it a tiny bit for various parts of songs, or switching between fingers/pick/slap, so if you're only using them for that it wouldn't matter so much? I quite like the look of the lytes.
 2. Got a 'hot pink' set on my warwick at the moment, and am fairly impressed with them. Can't say they're significantly better than my favoured rotosound rounds, but they do feel nice and look great! I know yours is a 4er, but if any 5er players are reading this, if you can, check in a shop if the low B will fit in your bridge, my DR low B didn't fit a Warwick bridge, because the windings near the ball end were nothing like uniform enough to fit through the gap - didn't get a refund/or replacement string either, was not impressed with stringsdirect!
 3.
The standard Epi T-Bird (non-pro) pickups are quite high output IMO, I don't think changing them would be of huge benefit - especially considering the cost of the pickups compared to the cost of the bass.
The pro ones are meant to be different, though not sure of the differences. I had considered cost of pups vs. that of the bass, but given I'm not going to be affording a gibson any time soon, I would like to improve the TB pro as she will be my main gigging bass for a long time to come. Shame Warwick can't make me a TB copy in warwick's tonewoods, that would be yummy.
 4.
If you're talking about the different Thunderbird models then the standard Thunderbird as far as I know has AlNiCo pickups, the Goth has ceramic, The NIkki Sixx ones are probably laced with cocaine and the Pro has the T-Pro™ bass humbuckers, whatever that involves. if you're talking about something else then I'm lost
Was talking about EMGs different models, as listed in the link in my original post
 5.
It's actually at the 13th fret for some reason.
What idiot thought that was a good idea :s
 6.
Yeah, I seem to get two of everything 2 Yamaha 6JM's 2 BCR Widows 2 BCR Bich 8's 2 BCR Mockingbirds 2 daughters 2 sons 2 cats
Now emigrate to Dubai and get yourself a second wife! ;-) Those JMs are lovely, that inlay is so very nice, and I'm always frustrated when I come to play DT stuff and all I have is a 5 string What do you think of this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...T#ht_502wt_1139 being on the theme of BCR's
 7.
They are proper awesome.
Fix'd
 8. Hi Fredde, it's fantastic. If you like, I can submit samples from a Warwick Corvette $$ (currently 4 string but the low B will be here soon), or an Epiphone Thunderbird - I would love to help you out on a project like this.
 9. Mmmm quite possibly or could get their standard TB ones, why are there no images/stats about their other 4 TB models, how do they expect to sell any without any information on what each variant is?
 10. That inlay at the 12th is yummy. Fine looking things. Only seen two used, one by JM himself, and one in a technical death metal band by and incredibly gifted player. Sounded great on both occasions, would love to try/have one myself though.
 11.
if the pickup route is the same as the standard Epi Thunderbird then EMG 35DCs will fit straight in. You'll have a bit of a gap top and bottom but they fit really well with no modification
Screws are in the wrong place though, the bartolini link in my original post has them right
 12.
My new Blazer's been getting all the gigs since I bought it but the Thunderbird will be back out for the next gig. Its more the feel of the bass for me. its the closest I've owned to my perfect bass playing wise. Still buggering around with the electronics. Currently has a set of EMG DCs but over the weekend I'm planning on removing the neck pickup and installing a Bartolini NTBT 2 band EQ and just run it with the bridge pickup
EMG 35HZ's fitted? See my thread...
 13.
See if you can fit some EMG 35DCs in there..... that should do it!
Wrong screw configuration, and shape too by the looks of it...
 14.
You missed the main reason that it didn't go any higher (aside from it's a Warwick)... it's BLUE!
My Warwick is blue :-( I think she looks lovely...
 15.
I have the Epiphone Pro IV and is simply the best. The sound, the look it's just yes!!! Also you get used to the neck diving.
It is great, but I'm keen to change the pups, not overwhelmed by the sound imo.
 16.
I can't think of any basses that actually do have active pickups, just preamps. Why do you want to change them anyway ?
The stock epiphone ones are, well, average sounding. I know the two basses don't compare, but when I plug my warwick into my rig, the sounds I can get are infinitely better than on the TB, but the frontman of my band prefers me to play the TB live, and I agree that it fits our band's image a lot better than the 'vette. I thought some bartolinis (whose soapbars sound so great in my dean), or some EMGs might give this bass that extra oomph it needs, especially seeing as I can't afford a gibson, and I will be playing it live most weeks from july, it is something I'd seriously like to do!
 17.
Are you sure the pickups are active, and not just have a preamp? (if the pickups are active, there will be a power lead going from the battery to them)
It's an active bass, so more than likely the pickups are passive I guess?
 18. In the same vein as the Gibson thread running at the moment, I'm keen to replace the stock epi pickups in my TB-pro (the pro ones are active!). Bartolini have this (scroll down): http://www.bartolini.net/information/bass/new_bass_pu_s4.htm though it says old thunderbird style, which is weird, because they look identical to the shape of my current ones. And EMG say this: http://www.emgpickups.com/products/category/260/2 where the model shown has the screws in the wrong place, but they list 5 active models for TBs also, though I can not find any links to them, their details or their screw configs. So which ones will fit my bass, and where the hell do you find the details for those other EMG's? Thanks Dan
 19.
No, a Prosebass by our very own Paul Rose.
One is on the bay atm I think
 20.
Looks like a twiglet! Plays well and sounds good, though. Are you sure you didn't mean the "other Infinity" with the thru-neck and F-holes? Most seem to favour those (and they cost twice as much...) Edit for - Bought (new) for about as much as a Fender Jazz. No-one wanted it, so I made 'em an offer! Bargain.
Lol I think I did mean the other one, yours is still fine enough looking, but isn't the thruneck birdseye maple as the top wood? That's a fantastic buy by the way, I'd be more than happy with that.
 21. Hey mate, don't suppose you know on the particular differences between the russian and american muffs, and how hard the russian ones are to come by? I have a russian bassballs so would ideally prefer to get a russki muff too
 22. Holding out for a 5er of these, in sunburst, not a fan of the natural on these - FANTASTIC sounding bass though, tried one through a seriously beefy markbass in a shop, was unbelievable - this is a steal guys!
 23. yea sort of reminds me of that ritter matt white colour
