1.
We were going for most pointless poster, weren't we?
I'd try and rival you for that
 2.
I think the official chronology goes like this: RHCP: MM Cutlass I (graphite neck Stingray) Freaky Styley: P-Bass, Stingray Uplift Mofo Party Plan: Spector NS-4, some sticker-covered parts bass (P-bass body, PJ pickups, 3+1 headstock) Mother's Milk: Spector NS-4, Stingray on a couple of tunes Blood Sugar Sex Magick: Wal, Stingray 5-string One Hot Minute: Alembic Epic, Stingray (one track) Californication: Modulus Flea By The Way: Modulus Flea, '62 Jazz with flats Stadium Arcadium: Modulus Flea, '62 Jazz, P-Bass (both Fenders with flats) I'm With You: Various old Fenders, according to recent Bass Player interview
Kewl, really been digging his tone on the most recent two. Don't suppose you know what tracks were what bass on Stadium Arcadium in particular?
 3.
Yes, seriously! I don't do 5 string I did try.......
Surely if you offer to post it, you'd sell it for a fair amount more? Hell at that price I'd gladly pay for a gig bag to be delivered to your house, and a courier to then pickup the bass from you and drop it off to me. PM me if you're at all interested?
 4. Can we have a 'to top of the page' button again please? Or have I not found its new location?
 5. Wow. I love this. It sure is nifty! Congratulations to the guys, I'm a big fan of what I've seen already. Will all old PMs be coming back at some point? I was keeping them as a personal record of transactions etc. Would love to see some more stuff in the shop, as I mentioned on the t-shirt thread, I'll be the first to invest in some BC sweatbands (long and short style) should they become possible. Thanks for all of your work guys, time to go and seek out my first political argument in the new OT
 6. This is BS, sucks people take this stuff. I'll keep my eyes peeled, it sure sounds distinctive enough.
 7.
and vice versa - the one where River Pheonix interviews him
I had that one! Some cool stuff in there, Chad is a hero! Does anyone know what Flea has used on Stadium Arcadium and the most recent offering whose name escapes a hungover me at present?
 8.
Apologies, read it incorrectly I think the general gist is that you can run a much weaker pickup and then use an internal pre to boost the signal, meaning less noise, flatter response and greater clarity, less magnetic pull too. The output of the LX is greater but I'm sure there's a trim pot on the pre on both which can control the overall output.
Awesome, thanks. So if you ran active pups on something like an all-graphite Status you'd be living the dream in terms of bass sound clarity?
 9. My Corvette sits snug as a bug in it's proper case, which it sits in at home, but it gets put in a gator hardfoam case for travel to gigs, the Warwick one is just too heavy when I go everywhere via public transport or on foot.
 10.
There's a third cable running to each pickup coming from the battery, both the pickup and the preamp need to be powered, like an EMG really - I think they had just moved to MEC from EMG as standard shortly before it was built. On the LX, just the preamp requires power.
This much I think I knew What's the benefit or difference supposed to be? Why does a pickup need power, or if it has the battery power is the signal really 'hot'?
 11.
On my SS1 the pickups are active, on my LX they're passive, though the SS1 is a fair bit older than the LX. They don't sound too dissimilar, however.
I don't think I've ever understood active pickups properly. I've had many active basses, but AFAIK they all have passive pickups.
 12.
Good for you! I can imagine that! Hockey (well, saunas, knifes and liquor too) is all they've got. Even though they're not better than us at it. Back to topic.
I did watch the IHF Championships final this year...
 13. I have 2 of the same kind, neither of which are the kind in the link, though they are bulletproof, I worry that things will start orbiting them, they are that heavy.
 14.
Let's pretend you won all that money and just buy it anyway!
If I had it, believe me I would Probably a good thing my student loan hasn't come in yet...
 15.
Yes, the same pickup config on the Streamer Jazzman. Here is a picture of mine and it does sound awsome. I have been playing it all night and just loving the sound from it. So much that I might sell my MIA Jazz and get a fretted Streamer LX4 or maybe a fretted Streamer Jazzman.
I do like yours What's the difference between an LX and a Stage 1? If I ever bought a streamer it'd be a tossup between a Jazzman and a $$ methinks.
 16.
Aouch. Have tried that accent before and didn't work for me, sorry. Have to pass.
I'm English but my girlfriend is Finnish. We're staying with her sister. Not a clue what anyone is saying here. Went to the ice hockey earlier too, that was an eye-opener. Sorry for the hijack.
 17.
Make it two.
You have yourself a deal, sir! I'm in Finland right now too, so it's not even far to travel. Good luck with the trade, this is unbelievable.
 18. Oh wow Here's hoping I win Euromillions tomorrow night, not even the jackpot, just enough for this, and maybe for that Ritter might be nice too
 19. Linus that looks spectacular. I'd love a 5er, but not at the price! I love MM/J as a pickup configuration, it's invariably my favourite setup on the $$ tbh. Is that what streamer jazzmans have?
 20. I like some Marcus Miller, but not enough to have ever bought any of his CDs. Given I have to choose between bands I go and see that charge half as much he does that I actually like enough to buy their CDs, given I can't afford to see all the ones I'd want to, it just isn't worth it. He'll be doing this for years to come, and certainly when I'm in more of a position to pay the IMO fairly high asking price.
 21. Gonna get mine when I get back from holiday. No sense rushing you with one more order that'll be home before I am. Looking forward to it though, will be wearing this about uni with pride.
 22. I love Warwicks. That is all. Nice to see so many of you have beautiful wicks too, there really are some corkers on here!
 23. I agree with why you an zmech are saying, doddy, but I know I don't have the money for new gear all the time, and very few on here do. I would say my biggest inspiration is hearing a really cool baseline or piece of music and saying, I want to learn that, dropping everything I'm doing and going to figure it out on my bass.
 24. I wouldn't spend £27 on that.
 25.
You mentioned it here about the weight. I am between Basildon and Southend. But Blind Pilot has very kindly offered to let me have a feel of his, so to speak, so if I decide to move from 'interested' to 'very interested' I will get an opportunity to try before I buy while you are away. Would you be interested in a trade - specifically a Hohner B2ABD in great nick?
Yep, so Dean reckon it is 8lbs, which sounds reasonable if they say it is, but I swear it isn't that heavy either so I'm not sure, hopefully Blind Pilot's one will enlighten you. I would be interested in a trade for something like that (or anything really) but only a 5 string, so this is going to have to be FS only. The only reason this is being sold is because as a 4er, it takes a bit too much adjustment when I pick it up, and, as a result is very rarely played when picking up one of my 5ers is just simpler! I'm back around the 25th-27th (not sorted yet), but will have internet access on holiday, so PM me with any queries etc. Cheers, Dan
