2. Hi mate, Did you ever find anyone? I'm in Wrexham and think I know who you've probably been to. I can give you a few names local to here, but if you're still looking, but the best I know of near here is Steve Amadeo on the Wirral. PM me if you want any assistance.

8. Haha! That is actually a fair point and something I totally forgot to do..........which s odd because I've always added photos of the other things I've sold or traded on here!! Anyway......... http://s1341.photobucket.com/user/bassintheface/library/Ibanez%20Atrcore%205 If you want more, let me know.......... Cheers!
9. Bump. Ideally looking for a trade if the right bass is out there...............
10. SOLD SOLD SOLD Hi all, I bought myself this new Ibanez 5er only a few weeks back as my first 'introduction' in 5 string basses. Having used it for a few rehearsals and one gig, I have realised that I would prefer something longer scale - this is a short scale at 30.3". It plays really really well, the B rings well and so deep and I think it looks seriously cool. It's a hollowbody with a proper vintage, woody sound, but fat! Sale wise - looking for [s]£500 [/s] NOW £400 plus delivery within UK. Send postcode and will get you a quote. I don't have any form of case or gig bag for it. Regarding trades, I'd be interested in something along the lines of a 5 string Jazz bass OR a nice electro - acoustic bass - am prepared to add a little cash if necessary - c£200 max, so something up to around £700 value. Master vol and tone, with a 3 way p/up selector. http://www.ibanez.co...d=63&color=CL01 I'll add a couple of my own photos shortly. PM for any details / offers etc. Cheers, Jamie
11. No, with a mix of a few different bands and as bass player (and bass mimer) with solo acts.......Usual failed X Factor tripe!! Lol
12. A fair few years ago I did 10 straight nights in Canada in an arena- that was sold out at 10k per night. Great times. Lots of fun.....both playing and partying!! Did a half time at Old Trafford at 75k I think - but mimed!! Done a few other stadiums as sports event ents - Wembley, Millennium Stadium, Murrayfield etc - they were all 30 / 40k I guess. The biggest where people actually paid for tickets to see the band though was 6k - outdoor festival thing I headlined last year. Did one a few weeks back at 4k I think. I guess doing Radio 1 Maida Vale sessions and Jonathon Ross show had more viewers and listeners but they don't really count!! I'd rather 100 people in the 'King's Knob' to be honest!!
13. Love this thread!! I also love those gigs where I can take my sans amp and ACS IEM's!!
14. If anyone is interested, I emailed Keeley, the main man replied and explained that the bassist pedal is THE one to go for, so I picked one up today!! I'll let you know how I get on
15. Hello guys, I'm after a compressor and have pretty much decided to go for a Keeley one. The only issue is which one!?!?! I've read that Mr Sheenan and lots of other bass players actually go for the 4 knob 'guitar' version as it's brilliant, yet I see that Keeley also make a specific bass version which is a compressor and limiting amp. Any info guys - who's got either, or tried both? Cheers!!
16. Cheers all. It's 'one of those'.....he might call, he might not! If he does then of course it depends on what he wants to do / wants me to do etc. .....and yes, we did play for free.......but being fair, it was for a school event and was helping mate out!!
17. The Doyle Bramhall of the bass world eh!! Cool!!
18. Great player!! I know he's left handed, but it looked to me like he also had his bass strung 'upside down', or is it just my eyes?!!
19. At short notice (last sun eve 'URGENT Facebook message' ) I got asked to attend and judge in a high school 'battle of the bands' by my mate who is head of music at a local school. The other judges were the singer and the drummer from my function band, plus another good friend (head of music at another school) plus none other Uli Jon Roth (of The Scorpions). We were asked to play a short set at the end of the show as judges, plus Uli Jon wanted to play a song too! Cue Monday eve and I find myself rehearsing 'all along the watchtower' with my drum buddy, keys player / teacher mate and Uli Jon Roth! An experience in itself! He had the famous 'sky' guitar with him (all 30 odd frets, scalloped, some whole tone) and some other crazy gear. It was like being in my own personal 'Spinal Tap' and I could type hundreds of words about it (like how he asked my mate to double up on a fast Cm arpeggio thing he was playing at lightening speed, which my buddy picked up super quick and got the best compliment from Uli - "when I played this with Steve Vai last year, he didn't pick this up as fast as you"). My mate you see used to play keys for Echo and the bunneymen, the lightning seeds and others when he was a session player!! Uli is a really nice guy and an amazing guitar player and musician, plus LOVES Hendrix! Get to Tuesday and we arrive at the venue having sourced a Marshall 4x12 for Uli (his gear was in transit from Spain to Denmark or something), do a quick sound check and are good to go. Show goes well and the kids are great, then we play a set, then the song with Uli - fair play, he was brilliant but also very complimentary to us all. He's now asked if he can guest with us in the new psychedelic blues band we've formed at a festival in Aug and do some shows with us going forward, plus we've swapped numbers and emails as he Said he liked my playing and asked if I'd be interested in playing bass with his band when he next tours! He has warned me though that he likes to play LOUD! This is the man who EVH, Vai, Satriani, Malmsteen and many more cite as a major influence! Music. Bloody hell.
20. We do it. We take an engineer out too, but we run an X32 plus iPad. Also have the app on my phone for my own IEM mix.
