  1. Wrexham is actually really good and there are lots of people trying something different. A really active and popular 'originals scene with interesting bands, plus a great blues thing going on. There's also the Focus Wales' festival in Wrexham every April - check it out........... There are also lots of pub covers bands and jam nights. Additionally, there's Chester 20 mins away with some decent venues, plus Liverpool and Manchester are within an hour's commute.
  2. Hello from North Wales also.......... whereabouts are you based?
  3. A take it off my hands bump..........I want a nice Jazz style long scale 5er - prob a Marcus Miller TBH. £400.
  4. Here's my Limelight P. Base on a '62 P - Pino Palledino style. Fiesta Red over Desert Sand. Got it in March and I love it. It rules!! http://s1341.photobucket.com/user/bassintheface/library/Limelight%20P%20Bass
  5. slight change of trade options to include a nice electro acoustic bass
  6. The Wrexham one is in the town centre at a pub called 'saith seren', or 'seven stars' if you don't speak Welsh!
  7. Not sure if this is too far, but there is one every weds in Wrexham. Not sure what it's like but is run by the same guys each week and gets a decent turn out I hear. Also, there's a blues jam on the last thurs of each month at Telford's warehouse in Chester. My mate Charlie runs that with his houseband.
  8. Thursday bump. Had a couple of trade offers but nothing currently 'doing it' for me.........
  9. Odd thread resurrection, but I have both bought and sold with mark. I bought my black 62RI Stack jazz off Mark and I also have one of his awesome Liimelights - a 62 Precision a la Pino Palledino custom shop - fiesta red..... It's ace. Mark'a a good guy, knows his stuff, sells quality gear.....and his limelights are seriously good too!!
  10. Hello from Wrexham Garry......... maybe our paths will cross - or may have already!!
  11. I have the SL112's (pair of) and TH 500. I use mine in a similar setting, plus festivals, big gigs, small gigs and everything in between. I'm really happy with it as a set up and have never had sound / volume issues and also play with a 'strong' drummer. You're more than welcome to have a go on my rig if that helps, but I'm in North Wales....
  12. Cheers guys. Will do some more research. Re budget and this is only just something I've thought of, but I do have an Ibanez artcore 5er for sale in the classifieds - I might alter the trade options to include amp / studio gear etc..... I guess around £500 max. Thanks guys.
  13. Weekend bump. It's literally been sat at home since I started this thread!
  14. Cheers guys.... Will get looking......
  15. As the title, I'm in the market for a small ish, but quality home practice combo - ideally with headphone output plus an AUX in. I've had a quick look at the Phil Jones BG75 - any good? Any other similar recommendations? I guess the other option is some decent monitors, an interface and and a decent pre like a bass buddy or similar?? Cheers!
