1. Hopefully if all goes to plan he'll soon be the new owner of my lovely black n gold geddy, which I will no regret 10 mind later as is my way lol
2.
You know if you read the title of this thread as a pilot, flying with instruments has a whole different meaning Peter
I thought that :-D
3. I thought all rays did that tbh, I just assumed it was a safety feature to prevent sending plugging in pops to the amp. Both rays I've had so far did it.
4. I have the jazz and I gotta say at risk of sounding like tb'er on an SX thread, it's amazing!!! Low action, great tones lovely for the money. Really impressed.
5. im all sorts of all over this lol!
6. yup stone cold bush is ace, used to cover that years ago, and nobody weird like me, although that one starts to hurt unless you remember to relax!
7. bumped for a few pics taken before id changed the tuners
8. No! Stop it!! Noooooo
9. I'm missing having a ray and the only thing I have to trade is my modded geddy. It's in very very good nick only gigged twice ever. All the hardware is gold including the badass, straplcks, pickup screws, pickguards screws, neckplate, the lot. It also has a tortie guard, a hipshot detuner and a mad shielding job! I think the only mark is a slight dent in the finish by the bridge too tricky to photograph. At least £200 quids worth of add on's if I recall possibly a lot more. The tuners are wilkinson and everything else genuine fender so they fit nicely! I couldn't add much cash but ray depending I'd have to see. Ideally I'd be after natural or White but my main stipulation really is a maple board, and a fully functioning neck/ truss rod so it plays well, nothing warped or bent etc. Not bothered about body condition too much. Offers? Pics up asap I promise. Just a feeler as I paid through the nose for the geddy and hardware and it's such a great bass, but if the right swap came up... :-D Not really interested in a straight sale as I love it to bits, but for the right ray would part with it or possibly a Warwick but mainly after a ray. 10. I owned the one in Aroundabout briefly. Sadly that one had issues but I'd love another one. I had a pearl guard made (possibly this one) and I think it was £40 must. Step. Away from the bass !
11. I gigged the fna jazzman for years, a great versatil bass that I really miss. A huge range of tones available and very light but tough. Slightly iffy balance on my beer gut though and careful use of EQ required
12. Def the micro pog, you get octave up and down and its polyphonic so it tracks beautifully even on chords, its also so versatile, makes you sound like an organ etc, one of the best pedals i ever bought!
13. I had a special trad unit made and oh my god it was amazing, edgy grind at full tilt that just nudged back to proper retro p tone, stunning pickups, stunning service, i have two more en route as we speak for my 'secret project'
14. The bass is in natural light coloured wood with a rosewood board. Fantastic nick as hes a drummer lol, fully active 2 band eq, two humbuckers wasburn branded. 24 frets, very hi-fi sounding, hardly played ever!, also has the buzz feiten tuning doo da thingy. Its well set up and plays like butter. Aint a fender else id buy it lol! Pics soon, he's asking £280 he lives in cheltenham. i reckon hed take offers its a washburn bantam xb400 more pics available on request
15. Heres the latest version of my gigging board, nothing special but works nicely for me. Its just practical and functional and easy to control. Nothing boutique or out the ordinary though, and yes i STILL say the zoom 506 is the greatest bass fx unit ever, i have another smaller board and have one on there too! lol
16. He played it and said some lovely things too :-) got the song name wrong though lol
17. Nice one boss blow em away
18. I'm 90% bass player, 10% human, nothing else really interested me. I owned a few strats cause I thought I should but They just have no draw for me. But basses occupy the larger part of my brain at all times lol
19. I must admit the amount of cone excursion does worry me, but I've never wanted for volume. I do miss the big stack though, except at load in/outs lol
20. Tbh I've no idea what they look like and havnt ever listened to em either :-/ but I'm sure you're better off without.
21. Lol, cool. Turns out our singer Suze did email him four months ago but forgot till now, suddenly makes more sense! Not been on the radio since my Doublecross days.
22. Dude, really sorry to hear that. It sounds like hopefully a likely blessing though. Good luck as you move on.
23. Cheers dude, just got in, four tracks nailed. Used the lm2 from the xlr no probs at all, coupled with my compressor, hartke vxl and noise suppressor I managed to get a cracking, well controlled signal that sounded fab, and crucially sounded like me. Pretty much the same as the live mic sound on the useless wooden toys stuff. Thanks again for all the help guys.
24. Awesome!! See that's why I love you guys!!! Thanks loads. I can only assume by turn off the volume he means turn it down. Bless the lot of ya!! (I'm off to do more Loungefly songs. We got an email off Rick Wakeman asking if he could play us on his planet rock show which is nice. So we are this and next Sat am apparently.)
