Sorry, I've not forgotten, but I have no computer at present...

I am one of those lucky bassists who is unaffected by latency. I notice it, say from the back of a hall during soundcheck, but can happily adjust. This being so I now use two sets of wireless; bass to pedals, pedals to amp. Never had an issue.

Don't know if you're familiar with this guy or not...

I have had one built for me - a clone to be entirely precise - by a rather wonderful Basschatter. It's not with me yet...

Sounds like I have just stumbled upon a goldmine. The two albums I've listened to today struck me for their instant accessibility, musicianship, humour - both musical and lyrical - and creative restlessness. This is how I used to write songs back in the day and I just assumed I was broken. Damn.

I just listened to an album by Frank Zappa and The Mothers. First time I've ever done so and do you know what? I don't know if I ever want to listen to anything other than Frank Zappa and The Mothers for the rest of time. Have you ever discovered the perfect band that had been right there, unsuspected, in front of you your entire life?

My vote was going to be the bitcrusher. But that's probably because I only heard of it relatively recently.

It was an idle thought. Are we at the end chain? Or do new effects still get invented? What was the last 'new' pedal?

Wikipedia tells us that in 1948 DeArmond released the Trem-Trol, the first commercially available stand-alone effects unit. My question is, what is the most recent effect, the newest thing in the world of stomp boxes?

From 86 until fairly recently I virtually stopped buying music. Felt like my era had passed. I'm back at it now though
