if youre feeling extremley bold you could take a chisel to the body and make a recessed pocket with a snug fit for the bridge baseplate to drop it down so that it sits flush with the bodywork

yes pretty much that although ive tried cables too as somebody mentioned this before about the tips - i replaced the barrel socket completely a couple of years ago but now its playing up again - i was thinking perhaps of using a female XLR as a connector instead of 1/4 inch jack

sooooo, as much as i my TRB i am now in need of repair/replace the jack socket [b]again![/b] why yamaha thought this recessed socket idea would be good is beyond me anybody ever gone for an outboard female socket type thingy - i was thinking of soldering a short cable in and clamping it and sleeving it and leaving about 6 inches of lead with a female jack socket for easy connection pros/cons/tips pls if you ever tried this ta muchly

they sort of do already - thing is it's percieved as a rather niche environment often for nerdy music geeks unfortunately it doesnt have the instant mass appeal of an ordinary person who happens to be 'brilliant' at singing just because they open their fat gob and a 'nice ish' sort of sound comes out compared to a program full of music swots who practice 25 hours a day since they were three years old and are on their way to a serious professional career in classical music http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/latestnews/2013/young-musician-2014.html
