Here's the neck done other than the nut slot. It's now winging its' way to Scandinavia. As I had a fair amount of interest in an epoxy coating 'how to' I figured I should do a seperate build thread so as to maximise its' exposure.
WOW that looks amazing - would look stunning on my elm jazz body when i finally get it all cut!

as a hydrive 4x10 owner i would say get the 4x10 now and then sneak in the 1x15 later while she's distracted
Would anyone fancy one of these if they were available? does anybody have hands that big that would need fanned frets? wouldnt the backwards slant between first and fifth frets cause some unnecessarily complicated fingering contortions? -
thanks for that - was assuming the same that the switching on the jacks inside the box must automatically set the impedance for one or two cabs - i'll leave them both out then!
No, I don't think so. On my 3500 they are for the DI out - ground lift and pre/post EQ Manual here: http://s3.amazonaws.com/samsontech/related...0_ownman_V5.pdf Seeing as how they have been installed, but not labelled, or included in the manual, I have no idea which way round they are (assuming they they are attached to anything).
maybe top button is for the send/return and bottom button for the speaker impedance??? im old and easily confused!

doing the typical boy with new toy thing i finally decided to scan through the manufacturers instruction manual several weeks after buying only to find a small problem - seems as if hartke have left a small space in their diagram where a couple of buttons should be - am pretty sure they are to do with impedance but any hartke owners who could shed some light please on the exact description/configuration would be much appreciated (so far the amp has only been used with both buttons in 'out' position which im guessing must be 8ohm)
That was pretty crap as well to be honest, plenty of aimless noodling but played to a small audience than Dream Theater would entertain.
mike keneally being referred to as crap ? oh well first time for everything i guess

please please please please please.... if you must indulge in technical excess, then do it with some flare and expression http://youtu.be/hEtZpLk1jjc i thank you

I used to own a trace 4x10 combo with a 1x15 cab and thought it was raher good - after a long break from playing ive decided to go out and pluck the strings again for a bit of a social life so i was lookiing for another trace rig but thought bugger the expense i'll take a gamble on the hartke after all the positive reviews id read - only got the 2500 head at the momet but the 4x10 hydrive cab is just amazing and i defy any die-hard trace fans to not be impressed - if you want exceptionally good clean tone at half the price of Trace then got for the Hartke! Am saving up as we speak to get LH500/LH1000

hmmmm now where to start ..... its got to be the bass equivalent of 6/7 string metallllllll widdling? isnt it? i mean why do it iin the first place - very few can pull it off convincingly (small pun in there) and even the greast VW himself can become a tad boring and tiresome when he goes into one in the right place and in good measure it can be pretty amazing - check out the live version of stanley clarke and george duke playing silly putty very restrained without all the ungainly mark king thrashing around stuff (poor sound quality tho!)
Lookin' good. Are you sure an abrasive water jet is the way to go with your lovingly seasoned chunk of elm though? The wood would have to stay under the jet for a fair while for it to make it all the way through, which means more contact with the water. It won't 'unseason' it as such but water in any quantity is a no-no when it comes to well seasoned wood, so I would have thought a high pressure jet of it would only be worse. Couldn't you take your chunk and DXF to a place with a CNC router, or even have an MDF template laser cut then using it with a hand held router?
well the guys at specialised cutting have told me they cut wood and mdf all the time and it isnt a problem - i will check some samples with them first - we have a good local plastics company where i can get a plexiglass template lasercut for hand routing but also trying to search out a cAD/CNC router solution (hopefully that might be cheaper than the watercut too?!)
