1. LOL, I keep getting the urge to withdraw it and use it for a relic project - a recent thread has given me the itch. But it seems SO wrong on a bass that has no real damage and looks cool as it is.
  2.
That's a cool looker Rich. What's the weight?
Hi Gary, I've just weighed it with my luggage scales - great piece of kit for this purpose. Weight: 3.6Kg = 7.93664 lb Cheers R
  3.
Very nice indeed Rich great basses
Thanks Tom. For clarity; I had 2. Thunderbird has bought one. The one in the pictures above is the second one. All basses I'm selling are good. I love them all. But if my playing bass is to get better, I need few of them so I have less to distract my practice. Thanks for looking.
  4.
Could you post the width at the nut, please? Thanks.
This neck has a 42mm nut
  5.
I think if he were charging a living wage for the hours he puts into each build (from what I've seen, haven't had the pleasure of trying one in person) - and a modest fee for the experience he brings to the bench - those wouldn't be cheap instruments. They'd still be as awesome, but not cheap!
I've had the pleasure. My comment was very tongue in cheek. Jez's basses are superb. £1000 would not be a rediculous price for a bass from his hands. On that one occasion his materials may have been low cost, but his talent could demand a good price.
  6. Hi there, The clear-out continues... This is a nice 20-fret maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard. The frets are in new condition. It's finished in lacquer on the neck, apart from the fingerboard. The decal on the headstock could easily be removed. The tuners are really nice; from a Squier, I believe. it will fit in a 62mm pocket on a body. Truss-rod works fine; otherwise it wouldn't be listed here. The nut is 42mm I'm in East Herts, but I can post it at your cost. Thanks for looking
  7.
Nice! Very cool bass, for very little.
Thanks. I've actually got 2 of these! I'd sell the other for £100, if anyone's interested?
  8. Hi there, Just clearing out a few things here.. This is a nice, clean body with only a few marks. Comes complete with pups, BBOT, loaded pickguard and neck-plate. Suitable for a 20-fret neck with 62mm pocket. I'm located in Herts/Essex and can post this.
  9. Hi there, My clear-out continues. This one I think I'm going to miss. It sounds great, but I really must cut down. I have too many for a guy who doesn't gig. Westone Thunder Jet bass - Solid Alder body, - 3 ply Maple bolt-on neck, - 34 inch scale 22 frets. - Rosewood fingerboard with graphite nut. - Single Hard Puncher I split pickup, volume and tone controls (Info from the 1984 catalogue) This bass has just been serviced and set up. Everything is in excellent working order and good condition for a 32 year old bass! It has a few dings and scrapes, but nothing major. The paint around the pots has also been re-touched and the knobs aren't original. But over all it's in good condition for the age. This bass was made in the Japanese Matsumoku factory in it's glory days in the 80s. The quality of their basses is celebrated the world over as they still are giving great quality at an amazing price. So grab a bargain as these are fantastic value for any bass player of all levels. A thick padded gig-bag can also be added to the sale, if you'd like one for a small additional cost. I'm located in East Herts, but travel about a bit, so PM me to find out if I can deliver. I'd also ship by UPS at your cost. More Pics
  10. Hi there, I'm clearing out some "bargains" I've picked up. I know. It's a bad habit of mine. I see waifs and strays in the web-lists and can't resist them. Here's a great bass. It sounds amazing for a no-name. Well built and would do someone really well. Especially if they're just starting out; not that there's anything wrong with it for anyone to use. - Solid Alder body, ( I think alder) - figured Maple bolt-on neck, - 34 inch scale 22 frets. - Rosewood fingerboard with 42mm nut. - Fender style BBOT bridge. - 2x Single coil pickups, volume, volume and tone controls Weight: 3.6Kg = 7.93664 lb This bass has had minimal use. It has just been serviced and set up. Everything is in excellent working order and in almost new condition. For a low-cost bass this is in great condition and really punches well above it's weight. The tone is punchy and has loads of variety in the tones available. This is great quality at an amazing price. So grab a bargain. A thick padded gig-bag can also be added to the sale, if you'd like one for a small additional cost. More pics - click here
  11. I use my One10 at home, in the lounge, with a MB LM3. It's great. It's certainly loud enough.
  12. If anyone in the south half of the country wants this and doesn't fancy the drive, I can collect from Gary and deliver to you with C.O.D. or Bank transfer on arrival/approval, if you're concerned. I can't be sure of going to all areas, but I travel about a bit.
  13. Is it the Bitas bass thread? It's coming up to me as "you don't have permission to view this thread". So I guess you're still posting the OP? Maybe after you've posted we might be able to see what's happening.
  14. If only I had the skills to do this justice and the time you deserve to be committed to the project Good luck in finding someone
  15. That, Sir is disgustingly gorgeous. You clearly should get a new back and keep the bass.
  16.
Hi, When you preview a post in selling your bass do the photos show up, I am selling a bass and using Photobucket, as far as i know i have transferred pics correctly but wondered if they show in preview, Thanks.
They do. When selecting the link to past into the image dialogue box, the one you need is the one Photobucket calls "Direct".
  17.
How does that E have such low action and still be playable!?
If the action was better it wouldn't be in such good condition for a 50 year old bass. Not that I believe it is 50 years old. It just typical Fender misleading marketing
  18.
Now im no expert but I pretty sure there isn't any lava flows on mount vesuvius... etna maybe but not versuvius.
Plus, it wouldn't burn in patches. It would simply burn... end of... in many ways
  19. Why travel all the way to the top of a volcano and risk life and limb to burn patches in the front, then sand all evidence of the burning off? "Liar, liar pants on fire..."
  20.
Hi there, It is USA built and and the neck is in great shape. I'll post a picture below.
Post the new picture in the OP. Folk don't always scroll down. Good luck
  21.
Too late now mate, it's sold.
Allow me to be the first to congratulate you!
  22. Also, not on EvilBay.. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/289795-westone-spectrum-dx/page__fromsearch__1 This looks nice to me. Is this an '86 - going by the serial number?
  23.
......n.b. the 'blotchy' marks on pic 1 are non-existent!!
I have to disagree... the blotchy marks exist ON the PICTURE! (They're reflections on a nice shiney Westone!) It's looks great and a real bargain for the money. GLWTS
