1. Regarding the head - Orange Terror Bass 500 - 8 & 4 Ohm switchable - light, loud and will do you proud.
2. Don't overlook DiMarzio's. The DP122's are nice. I have some 80's one's in my P. Nice and growly when you dig in. (I also have a brand new black set spare! )
3.
Likewise, I didn't buy the cab to look pretty onstage. If I wanted something pretty onstage we'd get strippers on stage with us. What I wanted an amazing sounding cab that didn't break my back carrying it, and that's exactly what I have. That said, I don't see the cab as ugly by any stretch, it looks great. it's rough and ready, way more rock'n'roll that some super shiny sparkly piece of crap!
Word!
4. That's the feeling/impression I got reading some of the posts and comments. My opinion. I had a faulty driver (Emminence's fault, not BF's) - emailed Alex after an evening rehearsal. Returned home from work next day - new driver waiting for me! That's my experience of their customer service, I'm disappointed ppl are having bad experiences.
5. 16 Pages about a worn handle? I thought it was a major scare and lives were being lost!! Handles - Mine have worn a bit over the 18 months I've had my S12 but, until it fails, not bothered. Thanks for the option Alex. And the slating BF is getting is beyond belief and totally unjustified in my opinion ... do any other companies come in for this amount? Unreal! A small British company making a really brilliant range of products - that the faithful that bought them are, in the highest majority, more than happy with (me included!), great customer service and an enthusiasm that I've never come across before in any industry - backing up there claims too? Who would have thought it! Jeez! I bought my S12 blind, not hearing one before, just what I'd read on BC and a few emails to Alex - I'm so glad I did - I just hope some of the comments and digs I've just read don't deter anyone from making the move I did. My S12 is the best piece of gear I've ever bought. Taters to the haters! BF4EVA! Too hard to handle?
6. I saw this last week and posted it on my FB wall - thought it was brill. I'd have a go at something like this but, know it'd end up sounding like I'd dropped the bass down a flight of stairs!
7.
Keep us posted on the valve change. very interested in this while my hearing lasts.
Well I did it - got a match pair of Mullard 12AT7wa's. £34.50 off've eBay. 5 minutes to swap them over and a brand new amp! Only one rehearsal but, The low end has really come to the fore and I've had to turn the bass down from 2 o'clock to 9 o'clock and the mids from 1 to 10. It's much 'cleaner' and the tube break-up is more subtle with the gain (not sure I dig that yet!) and happens about 11 oclock as opposed to 7-9 o'clock. Just feel like there's miles more headroom!
8. I sold all my Ampeg gear for a 500 and Barefaced S12. Best move I ever made. Love mine. I am about to swap out the valves for some 12AT7W's to give me a little more headroom before breaking up. looking forward to hearing yet more wonderful toneage!

11. I used to use an RBI with my SVT3 and there were 3 workable combinations. RBI > Power section RBI > Effects Loop (this seemed to be a bit under powered and 'washy'(?)) RBI > main input (effectively using 2 Pre's - the tone combinations were endless!) The RBI is a great bit of kit and I'd throughly recommend trying one out.
12. Erm, cheers! (I think!) Strange bunch us bass players! LOL
13. Cheers, 43.8mm (1.725 in.) on many sites - I'll measure it up for sure.
14. I have a Tokai TB48 Thunderbird & gig bag I'm looking at selling. I had one of the 1st Alpine White Epi's in the country a years back but, couldn't get on with it and moved that on. I grabbed the Tokai cos I missed the coolness(!) Played a few Gibson's and this seems closer to them than the Epi's. Anyhow - I've not used the TB for a while and its just sitting at home. It's 'Vintage' white (a yellowed white finish) in really good nick, sounds smashing and the straplock has been moved to the neck joint for balance. Set neck - not like the Epi bolt-on, even got a Gibson truss rod cover too (No one would ever know!) and is all set up ready to go. Looking at £250 delivered OVNO. Gig bag, (and Tokai badge) included. I'm near M6 J10 and will consider courier-ing - if absolutely necessary! Pics from phone (sorry they're a bit cack! My sofa's Purple so the colorisation it way off!) Didn't wanna take it out in the snow for photos!
15. 3U Rack case, 18" Deep, with 4 socket power strip installed. It looked after my Ampeg SVT3 & wireless system - both of which are gone now. Near J10 M6 or can come to some arrangement for posting. Cheers for looking. Pm me if you need any more info.
16. Last I heard he was in a smiths tribute band years ago! :-/ Great bass player - I also love the music - until Mozza opens his gob.
