1.
Ask her if you can have the manual now, so you've some chance of being able to play with it before Boxing Day is over.
Have already downloaded that so will get reading.
2. Mine turned up today, impressed with GAK and their speedy service....being an over seas customer. However not so impressed with the woman who has hidden it up and said you can have it for Christmas.
3.
Anyone get a confirmation of order? I just got an acknowledgement.
We got an order number, so assumed that was a confirmation. I could of course be totally wrong.
4. Mines coming from GAK, Wednesday hopefully.
5. Not being a techno bod I have no idea how such things happen. The picture is to prove I am not losing it....too much.
6.
Shows as over £200 for me. I agree with Charic, probably a new model.
Thats odd it says £101.37 on my screen.
7. They have them on here cheap too. http://www.dv247.com/guitars/zoom-b9-1ut-bass-guitar-pedal-includes-power-supply--54019 Why are they so cheap all of a sudden?
8. I just got rid of my B2.1u in an attempt to get stuff off the floor. But an offer like that can't be missed and now looking forward to getting my hands on it.
9. Well that nearly got me in some trouble! But thanks for posting it up. The good woman has just ordered me one as Christmas is just round the corner.
10. Our guitarist just bought a 15watt valve amp by Bugera for £75(new), so far he has had no problems and it is mighty loud for 15watts. Would like to know if these 300watt valve amps are any good.
11. I bought this from Thomann for £38 and have never used it. So in new condition, fitted to guitar once. Yours for €35 posted. In real money that'll be £28. I'll find the camera and get a picture on shortly.
12. Its all good for me too. Play with a great bunch of chaps who are pretty good at what they do. We all seem to be on the same wave length in all aspects of the band. We have a bloody good laugh.
13. We charge between €1000 to €1500 for weddings and Parties start at €400.
14. I play in both a covers band and now an originals band. The covers band does pay very nicely and we always have a great time with good crowds at almost every gig. But it is also quite refreshing playing our own stuff in the other band, knowing that its stuff we have written.
15. We used to play the tried and tested numbers like Mustang sally, knocking on heavens door all that kind of thing. But I got totally fed up wit it all and wanted to play covers that other bands just don't seem to do round here. The keyboard player said no I will only play whats in my book....so it was a good bye to him and we sacked the drummer because he was crap and a numpty to boot. So new line up and a fresh start and although still playing covers its now things like Echo Beach, Baggy Trousers. And so far its going really well. Its nice to find other band members thinking along the same lines.
16. I have one too, when I first got it I had a bit of bother getting the sound I wanted. Indoors it just seemed really boomy, then an outdoor gig I just couldn't hear it and it wasn't cutting through. But some advice on here soon sorted it out. Bass down, mids right up and treble rolled off. Does the job lovely. I'm now using a 2x10 as well as the 15 and its got some proper welly. I would like to be able to afford some nice cabs but there is always something else to pay for first.
17. I had an Indie 100watt combo. It was cheap I think about £130 new. I wasn't gigging at the time so just needed something to make a noise. After a while it started to fart about so I thought about fitting a new speaker. Popped the old one out it was a cheap as chips no make 140watt @8ohms. I emailed indie guitars about what to replace it with and to be fair they did answer a couple of emails fairly quickly, first one stating they are all made in Korea so they had no information on the amps and he was waiting for a reply from his contact. Never heard from him again. So in the end I cut off the speaker part and used the amp as a practice head. And it turns out when I pulled the amp chassis out it had 50 watt stamped all over the circuit board. I wouldn't buy another as there is so much decent second hand stuff going around cheap.
18. Thanks. I'll give that a go. It really is a horrible sound coming from it, but then it is a cheap cab. I think the speaker will give as much top end as I shall need. I had also thought about blocking the rear port and putting one in the front. What would be the thoughts on that.
19. I have a pretty cheap Hartke VX115 cab that has this horrible sounding tweeter with no way of switching it off. I have read online some people have just cut the wires going to it. This is an option I am thinking about, but does anyone know if I am likely to damage anything by doing so. Thanks.
20.
Always considered the A30 a quite decent road tbh
That wasn't a bad road, but the trusty sat nav sent me god knows where.
21. I was in Cornwall last month, don't suppose that helps much though does it. A drop at Liskead and then onto Redruth to collect my Bravewood P. A quick run to Lincolnshire and back to sunny frogland. I do like Cornwall, but didn't like the narrow roads with high hedges too much.
22. Yet another Thomann find and I've been looking for another cab to go with my VX115. Are they any good? Thomann say they are 300watts, hartke say they are 250 and somewhere else online said they were 200. Going on that is my VX115 really 300watts? If I pair the two together and run my LH500 through them(4ohms=500watts) will they handle it? Its looking like I might hit the buy button unless anyone says they are crap, and at just €134 I can't really pass it up.
23. 'Dingwall Towers' I like it Fran. Was good to see you again after a few years. Was also good to compare a Bravewood to a real Fender and think I have done alright with the Bravewood. As for those wonky Dingwalls Fran!!!! To be perfectly honest, when I first saw pictures I thought no chance. But having tried a couple now I just think they are awesome. Didn't take very long at all to forget about the fanned frets and just get on with playing. The active super J was something else! But I'm a bit of an old school rock type player and the Bravewood P is the one for me, I just love the good old thump you get from a P bass. I'll try and do some recordings with it(when no one else is in the house) and link it here.
