1.
dunno, great choice of tune though. I posted a solo bass arrangement of that tune on here a while ago - shall I dig it out for you?
Man I'm doing this (along with Brush with the Blues) for my mate's degree show and am stuck between the Joni/Jaco arrangement and the Jeff Beck arrangement. Would love to hear your solo piece!
2. Here's a new outfit I recently joined - Deluded Buddhas. (There's a 'Riffs' page) Personally I think it's really good the way it is but there's talk of adding a vocalist and I'm not sure it would work so I'm looking for thoughts from y'all (Sorry - just listened to Bilbo's Country thang!) Mostly using a fretless but with the 'Holy Trio' on the first track (OD-3, extremely mild octaver and envelope filter set to really quite squashy!) I'm relatively new to effects so any thoughts and/or guidance would be appreciated Hope you enjoy... PS - it was the guitarist who cut it all together and he kinda likes the 'wooooow' thing on the first track!
3. As an honorary Red Neck I approve!
4. Monday bump
5. I have a very similar one currently stored at my singer's house (along with an amp of course) for impromptu rehearsals! The only difference being mine's white (well off-white now!) and has a single JB pup at the bridge. I had it lying around gathering dust for years so I decided to dust it off, put a new set of strings on, set it up and it plays and sounds great!
6. Has the Red Ripper definitely gone? Cheers
7. Friday bump
8. For ages I was gigging my Squier VM fretless instead of my custom Larkin Reacter fretless (see avatar) Don't get me wrong - the VM is a great bass but having picked up my Larkin again it just KILLS the Squier dead. I've totally fallen in love with it all over again.
9. Monday morning bump!

12.
Weight?
Mine or the amp? OK the head is listed as 10kg in the original MKV catalogue. Dimensions are: 14cm H x 54cm W x 25cm D Cheers, Ian
13.
Always use Stringsdirect or Stringbusters - the only places to buy IMHO.
A huge +1 for this. I've used both companies and have never had anything but exemplary service.
14.
I think I'm ending up with a very nerdy MXR fanboy board...
LOL! Me too and it's only gona get worse as I add more!
15. I like mine with the Dry somewhere around 12 o'clock with the Growl between 12-3 and Girth 9 or less with the mid switch set at 400Hz. Played with a fretless through either my ODB-3 or El Grande (depending on how dirty I want it!) and into my M82 Filter for a really nice synth-bass effect!

19. I tried a POG yesterday in Guitar Guitar before I finally settled on reinvesting in the MXR BOD. I kinda liked the octave up feature of the POG - a bit of a novelty tho cos I'm not sure I'd ever use it and the POG just doesn't have the same warmth that the MXR does. I love the fact you can get pretty close to the old Boss OC2 with the BOD. Needless to say I walked out of the shop with a brand spanking new BOD! (Almost took the Carbon Copy too!)
20.
VM-Jazz :::
Mate that's stunning! I do think my '75RI will soon be wearing a tort guard!
21.
That's odd, don't 99% of people run the octaver into the fuzz?
Yep, octave box (BOD in my case) into fuzz box (El Grande); that's definitely the way I do it as well. The M82 is the Bass Envelope Filter so no issues with running a fuzz into it.
22. Bump for a classic Trace head in immaculate condition considering it's 1/4 of a century old!
23. Man that looks gorgeous and I've been toying with the idea of acquiring a MM-style bass for a while now (There was a Sterling Ray34CA in GuitarGuitar for a while I was drooling over quite regularly! ) Damn! Must. Resist. Temptation... Need. Octave pedal!
