  1. Hi everyone! Just to let you all know, my collection is featured in the latest edition of the Guitar and Bass Magazine, page 82-88 - available from all good newsagents! Thanks to Flateric for getting me back in contact with Lars Mullen! Nick
  2. Update! Now moved into a new much bigger studio close to the edge (YES!) of the city centre, still available to travel out to you if you are further afield!
  3. Hullo! I've still got 3 Pangborn basses - a graphite-necked Warlord, a Warrior and a Chieftain! The Warlord is a monster! All to be seen in a feature sometime nearer the coming summer! Cheers!
  4. Interesting thread! I got my first set of pedals back in '88 which were an un-branded plastic set which lasted about 3 weeks before they fell apart and then later on, bought a set of PK-5's which have survived (albeit a bit tatty now) since around 1990 I think! My first module was a Yamaha TX81-Z which gives a nice low moog-esque drone but sadly not that close! Bought a set of original Taurus I's in 1994 which are now sadly in need of a major service, then bought a Nord Lead module which does get pretty close to the Taurus sound. Then bought a set of Taurus III's about 3 years ago off of Ebay and these are very good, however a pain in the arse in terms of weight etc especially in their flightcase which could compete with the flight deck off of the Ark Royal! So, then bought a Minitaur to use with the PK-5 which is great and now have just got the 12 Step pedalboard which I am very very pleased with! Tend to amplify the pedals via a couple of Alto powered sub cabs (12 or 15 inch depending on gig) and these do the business in terms of a real deep Squire-esque sound. Many people (punters) seem to think they are like effects pedals and assume they are connected to my bass, you have to explain to them that they are a synthesiser you play with your feet!

  7. Hi! I had one of these at the time (#38) and have played a few of them over the years from the batch of 42 basses! They are all different shades of blue, some had plain white scratchplates, some white pearl and a couple have red tortie plates!! None of them were the actual blueburst colour that Mark has! They were originally £1999-00 retail, I think I got mine for around £600 in a long and drawn out trade!! As Dingus points out, I had heard that our man did not really get on with the pickups (hence the masking tape over the pole pieces!) and the bridges were not really up to his hammering!!! And they smelt of kids play doh! Doh!
  8. Steve is your man! Lovely chap (never studied with him but seen him play and is excellent!) N x

  10. Yes. Don't switch the switch whilst frying bacon or other products...! Much love x
  11. I've just bought a couple of Vanderkley cabs and they are excellent! Bumpe!
  12. I've just gone over to Vanderkley - used to love the Mark cabs but this stuff is incredible! Using a 410 on its own now (4 ohm model) and it fills the room! Bought a 112 as well for theatre work and rehearsal use etc!
  13. Hallo! Now using Vanderkley cabs - totally knocked out by the depth and clarity! Bought two - the 410 and the 112 - both neolite cabs (410 for main gigs and the 112 for theatre/rehearsals/small gigs! Hoping to get another one soon!). Anyone else moved over to these? Cheers! Nick
  14. Allo! Am gigging on the Isle of Wight on the Sat so hopefully should make it back in time to come! Basses - a selection from my meagre collection fingers crossed! Cheers! Nick
