I use effects regulary in my covers band. With only one guitar i have alot of sonic space i can cover and use all my effects on there own and together. I've paired my board to the minimum but it has Octave, OD, Fuzz, Flanger, Delay and synth on it.

Sorted! Found the issue. My footswitch has a switch i had accidently moved which turned it into a latching switch so when pressd it had the same effect as pressing and holding the switch so it went into mute mode. Switched it back and its working as it used to DOH!
sounds good, p body with J neck works for me
and me i hope!

Got off the phone with Mike, Neck is done bar final shaping and the body is done bar some minor contouring. Body has been CNC'd so neck pocket and pups holes are routed. Body is a sort of P Jazz hybrid. Its got the offset from the jazz although not as exagerated but more of the bulk of the P. Will have a Jazz Scratchplate and Bell. Body wood is idigbo. Not the greatest grain but Mike swears by it for tone plus as i've gone for a painted finish what it looks like doesn't matter! One peice body to. Coming together well, i'll see if i can get some pics

I was originally looking for a precision with a jazz nack but was unsatisfied whith what was around. I contacted Mike Walsh at Purple Chili/Iceni Bass Guitars as i had experience of him building me a custom 5 (Build thread in here somewhere). I chatted with Mike and friday and agreed a build. I haven't actually specced the actual woods i want as i trust mike to meet my specification. It was Precision esque body Jazz neck and fenderish headstock 38mm Nut width Mable board I didn't want fancy woods as this is a workhorse so have opted for a plain black finish with a pickgaurd Precision pup at the neck and Jazz pup at the bridge Passive electronics probably vol, vol, tone Thats it. using the KISS principle i'm really excited about this bass as i loves me precision but believe this will give me that and more
Nice to see that your riveting company looked after your health, safety and welfare
They did but hearing loss still happened. At least i got a hearing check every year to see the damage!
-
I ended up with the ER25's as the 15's didn't take the volume down enough for me to to prevent tinitus. Expensive but not looked back. Really comfy and i don't get tinitus now. My hearing was shot from working in a riveting bay for 5 years but i don't want to loose anymore!
I have used the MB Compressore and the EBS Multicomp. Both very, very very good. I'd go for the EBS though as it's a lot simpler to use and also a lot smaller. I also considered the Maxon CP9 Pro+.
I've had the BBE opto Stomp twice but ended up with the Maxon CP9 Pro+ and haven't looked back. Great pedal

never had a mammoth but it sounded like the clips on the Zvex site. Gated fuzz? This is great
-
Only reason i got rid of mine was i got an iron ether oxide fuzz which can do the mammoth gated sound well and didn't need to fuzz's (Odd i know). Great pedal and the build quality is top notch.

Second outing, same result. Pleased with the tone. Not quite in the same ballpark as the hiwatt but so bloody close when you take the weight into consideration its a win win situation. Really think Mike is on to something with these amps

I've tried on out last time i was there. More of a precision man but it sounded great and the 2 octave board was a nice addition.
Sounds cool, I like the fact its UK/hand wired. Similar, I guess, to the Streamliner, but in a more old school sense with more work involved with the build. Plus, as its UK he can sort it if there are problems
It feels more solid and real than the GB amps if that makes sense. Its definitely got that old school vibe but with a modern twist, ie the Class D power amp.

Will do a proper review later but can put some more specs up now. Mine is the 450watt version, should do about 530 at 2 ohms although throught the Bergs 4x12's 450 is enough for me! Not sure what module mike is using but it will do a 2 ohm load. all the components are top notch Its a 3 tube pre amp built by Denis Cornell (Pedal and amp fame) linked to a Class D power amp. The DI runs off the second stage of the first Preamp tube. There is no fan as one isn't needed. It's a LOT lighter than it might look. Everytime i pick it up i'm expecting a heavy weight! I like it cos to me the other lightweight amps, like the shuttle, tc etc look a bit silly sat a top a big cab like the NV412. Now admittedly this isn't going to fit in a gig bag but weight wise its filled with helium! I have Serial No.1 of these amps as i'm doing the final proving of these in agigging situations etc. I've suggested to mike that although not critical, for the cost he might considera mute switch for run 2 of the amps. I've used this at a gig last saturday and i've got another this weekend. I turned it on and left it on for 3 hours and it was just fine and it was a hot sweaty pub! I usually use a hiwatt 200 custom so like a big fat clean tone so thats what i set if up for. I've not had the time to play with settings but it will grind if needed. I love it as its something different in the world of lightweight amps, made in the uk with handwired point to point pre amp etc. in a bigger casing I've owned, MB LM3, Shuttle 6, Shuttle 3, Ibanez Prometheon (Still got this) and IMHO it slays them all. But i would say that As i have a Purple Chili 112 cab i may let my prometheon go as although a slighlty bigger rig its not that much heavier and gives me what i want. A no tweetered twelve with a vavle pre to use as a practice rig.

I've used the zoom for gigs for the past 6 months or so and use an external switch to bypass it. Its worked fine until this weekend. Now when i use my external switch to put the unit in bypass it also mutes the output so i get nothing out. Took me a while to twig this! Disconnected the switch and when i hit the two patch buttons it goes into bypass but lets the signal through, connect up the switch to bypass it and it mutes it to. Had a look in the manaul but can't figure out whats gone wrong or what i need to do to fix it Any help appreciated

Didn't like the bypass on the 6, it coloured my sound but if you are not going to turn it off it was a great bit of kit. Using a Zoom b2.1u at the moment which although doesn't have as much functionality as the 6 (you can only scroll through patches as opposed to being able to turn effects on and off in a patch with the 6) its a great peice of kit that is easy to set up
