3. Thanks folks, think I may have to sell up and go for something different - quite fancy the robotalk 2 if im honest, more usable for me than the manta right now.
4. Hey Folks, Ive been on here since 2007, but took a hiatus from music and this year made a resolution to get back into regular playing - hi! Anyways - I its seems my GAS has returned and in a few short weeks I now have a pedalboard - the latest addition being a B3K and the Manta filter. So - im finding there are such a huge array of tones in this thing, im getting lost! I record a fair bit these days and finding a usable filter that doesnt disappear in the mix is hard, but more importantly im trying to find that traditional funky filter type sound that works with my Active basses - specifically a Warwick SS2 & PNut Sig (both 5ers). Lets get this thing started, and share some of our favourite filter tones from this little monster! Thanks in advance!
5. Bugger, was going to grab the aftershock!
6. I bought a Soundblox Manta Bass filter from sifi last week and it couldnt have been smoother. Item arrived exactly as described and I am a happy customer!

9. Just to add that this is a top notch bass - I have a 5 string version and its just pure awesomeness to the point where I would never, ever, EVER sell mine. So come on folks - take advantage of this guys' insanity and grab yourself the best bass you will ever own GLWTS
10. Bought a Jazz bass from Pawel that arrived today exactly as descirbed - Pawel is a pleasure to deal with and very communicative throughout. He even threw in some strings and an extra scratch plate for me, all told im very pleased and will happily buy from him again
11. Is this still available? Is this in the UK?
12. Ok so after much thought and a huge lack of interest (suprisingly), Im going to withdraw this from sale and keep it. I may look to see what the chaps over at Bassdirect can do for me by way of a trade in, looking to simplify my setup somewhat.
13. BUMP and Update: The Power Amp I have is a Behringer iNuke 3000, very light and loud (suprisingly so) and replaced the QSC PLX2402 shown, which failed on me after a good 10+ years service. Would say £100 for the Power amp,
14. Ive decided to sell my rig and downsize to something light and loud in the form of a combo, all items must go. Happy to sell as individual items or as a whole for the right price. Bass Pod XT Pro - £100, great condition and gigged in a rack since I got it. No marks or dents. FBV Floor Controller - £100, good condition but a few marks as it has seen 1000's+ of gigs. Comes housed in a Thomann flightcase, all working fine Epifani UL310 Cab - http://www.epifani.c...cts/UL2_310.php - Great cab and very light, loud as hell! Never had to push it hard and its been on stage at some very large venues, never struggled cutting through. Few marks on it as it doesnt have a cover but no tears or major obvious marks, good condition. - £400 Aphex Aural Exciter C105 - £50, makes this rig sound HUGE and gives some real low end balls to the rigs sound. Happy to sell the lot for £600 and will chuck in the SKB rack for free as an option. Pic of the rig (please note - BASSES ARE NOT FOR SALE!!) Interested in a GK MB212ii combo, failing that no trades.
15. Having recently aquired a P-Nut Sig, I can vouch for how AWESOME these basses are. Superb range of tones and just a brilliant bass all round. GLWTS!
16. .....which makes my SS2 that little bit more special, if Azelia becomes hard to get!
17. Ever since you said about the mismatch/colour differences between the body wings on my stage 2, ive noticed it - gave it a good wax and clean yesterday and it isnt as obvious but I think you are actually right now, they arent properly matched. Still sounds huge, and it will sound even better with an OBP-3 installed
18. Growl is a streamer stage 2 with an OBP-3, bass and treble boosted slightly, and mids just a smidge over the centre position. THAT is just the most sexual bass tone!
19. The growliest bass Ive ever heard is my Streamer Stage 2 - even more so than my P Nut or LX5. Thumb NT 5 is also a right growly beast. I would say a neck through construction for the sustain, Jazz bass single coils with a decent 3 band preamp WITH MID control, Wenge fretboard, and I think the afzelia body on my SS2 helps give it that angry growl too.
20. Anyone know any good guys for fitting of pickups/preamps? Im thinking of upgrading my Streamer Stage 2 with an Aguilar OBP-3, and possibly doing the same to my PNut Streamer and swapping the pickups out for Basslines MM and J style ones. This work is pretty much beyond me so wondered if anyone has any recomendations? I was pondering whether Martin at SIMSLED would be able to do it (at the same time adding some LED markers to the PNut), but hes not got back to me on email yet and is in Kent. Would really hope some of the more knowledgable folk on these forums may know someone who can fit these for me. Would probably also look to procure the components through them too if its easier, but I could buy them online easily enough if needs be. Would I end up having to change my current control knob config to accomodate the OBP-3 at all? And what about the coil tap on the MM pickup in my PNut? Sorry for the stupid questions!!
21. Been playing around with it for a few hours now - its a really nice, versatile bass actually. Still has that Warwick growl, and in some ways it feels very similar to my Stage 2 when playing, but it sounds dramatically diferent (of course). Both slap and fingerstyle sound really nice on this, I esepcially like the sound when you really dig in tight and hard over the MM pickup, with the pup blend set dead center. The midrange is nice on this bass, I bet it will have no trouble cutting through. The front J pickup gives you what you would expect, but the angle its installed at seems to give a more even tone when you move to the upper registers on the G/D strings. Very well rounded and you can get a really nice, throaty (almost piano like) ring using the front alone. Rolling off the treble and backing up the mids a shade gives a really nice reggae/dub sound, and I wont even begin to tell you how monstrous it sounds when you crank up the bass and drive on the Sansamp! Its not as bright as my SS2, and it doesnt quite have that mid range growl the stage 2 has, but it certainly pleases my ears and I think this pair will serve me well for a long time. Neck wise, very similar to the SS2 again, although a shade fatter in terms of depth - nothing too drastic though. The setup is actually just right, no buzzing and all frets really sing, TONS of sustain from each fret and every note just rings out nicely - no dead spots or volume imbalances across the strings. All in all, very pleased!
