  7. I doubt it. They probably make a bigger mark up selling £500 worth of picks than £500 worth of guitars. I sell bacon rolls for a living. So I'll take £2 off people all day long! 😁
  8. I use these 2.0mm picks. Dunlop 417P2.0 2.0mm Gator Grip (Pack of 12) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0002D0CJY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_umTXCb7T0D8ZP Solid. Small. Good grip. I find bigger thinner picks are better for guitar but prefer a small chunky pick for bass.
  9. A true legend of the music business. Been a big fan for a lot of years. I'm the same as EliasMooseblaster, I loved the fact he kept pushing out into new territory as he got older. I remember a friend giving me a copy of Tilt way back in the nineties and it blew me away. 21... 21... 21...
  10. Maybe they could arrange guitars is price order? at least that way you can kind of find your budget ballpark and work from there....
  11. I can see me ending up with one of his 50's P's... That green one is stunning!
  12. I always fou d their customer service to be exemplary... Until I cancelled my prime subscription. Then returning anything, whether purchased as a prime customer or not became a proper pain in the rectum. I cancelled due to the reasons stated above about tax avoidance, competition, destroying high Street etc. And now only use them as a last resort.
  13. I asked about PayPal gift but they want full fat PayPal. Fair play. I would too. My main concern is that they get the guitar and simply change their mind. File a not as described return request and I'm liable for the £60 return costs. I guess that's just the risk you run as a seller with PayPal.
  14. Guys, I've got a guitar listed on the sister site that someone in France would like to buy. They have agreed to the full price, no haggling plus £60 insured postage. Magic. Too easy? The buyer has litterally just signed up to the site then sent me the message about the guitar. Seems odd but it's an unusual guitar so perhaps not so odd. Ped has confirmed that they haven't spammed anyone else and that their IP locates them in France. All good. They want to pay via PayPal, fair play. I would too but that concerns me a bit knowing how PayPal conducts itself with favouring buyers in any conflict. Am I missing something here? Am I exposing myself to getting diddled? My first instinct is to say no as I don't want the hassle of sending abroad, I'm not desperate to sell - only listed it as there was something local I wanted to buy but that as months ago and long gone. A change might be nice tho.
  15. I never thought Pearl jam fitted the grunge label. Soundgarden neither. Nor Alice in chains. They just happened to hail from the right area at the right time. I always had grunge down as being a more laid back approach to the songs. Dirty guitars. Sloppy playing. No guitar virtuosity. No blistering solos. A different version of punk really. Much like punk was the antidote to the prog rock of the seventies, grunge was the antidote to the big hair, leather trousers and fret wankery guitaring of the eighties.
  16. I use a TC spark mini. I agree it adds a little treble.
  17. Interesting article. Certainly around here there is a growing "shop local" movement in general but that might just be the holistic middle classes shouting a little louder on local Facebook groups. There are more independent bakeries and bike shops than there have ever been around here. Maybe the tide is turning. Maybe the people are ready shed the big brands and pay a little more for good old fashioned service. However the music business does seem to be bucking this trend with record shops and instrument shops closing all over the place.
  18. I'm afraid the your frustration can only really be directed at those who voted to leave. Companies/individuals are only reacting to the result. This thread seems to have been derailed. Price tags eh!?! What happened to them? 😁
  19. That's true. It might not happen. ... But it might.
  20. Prices went up after the brexit vote because of a lack of confidence in the British economy by international currency traders leading to a decrease in the value of the GBP. If you're buying guitars and paying in USD and your currency is worth fewer USD than it was before, prices have to go up. Makes perfect sense.
  21. Apparently a price list is acceptable. I guess they could claim their web site is a price list.
