I understand it's over your budget, but as it includes a fitted case and postage, it's a good deal
 2. Is Exeter close enough? http://www.mansonguitarworks.com/index.cfm/about
 3.
Play loud...
A fine choice

 5.
oeergh. Looks like the body was made before they knew what a guitar looked like, and then they had a game of pin the hardware on the bass.
Surely a guitar can look like anything you want it to, as long as it works in terms of playability and sound? Re. Hardware - it all looks quite standard placement to me, other than the wonky pup.
 6.
I'm dying to find out who the guitarist is on the track "Smile Like That". Sounds like a young Allan Holdsworth. Anyone know?
After a bit of Googling, I'd conclude it's Jef Lee Johnson. He has quite a distinctive tone, similar to that of John Schofield
 7. It's a good idea, and as a backup, the strings should last for ages. I'd check out the Hohner one also, as I hear it's better than the Spirit.
 8. 9.
Sorry, who is this?
I assumed his name was Curt
 10. I'm not an expert, but do have some experience with this. My amp came with 6550s (EHX) and I swapped these for KT88s (JJ). This worked fine, as at the time, my amp was fixed bias (it has since been changed to cathode bias) They are interchangable, but you'll need an adjustment by a tech if your amp is not fixed bias.
 11. Attention to detail is key. Can you spot the glaring error? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sandberg-Bullet-Booster-5-String-SE-Pear-Top-Electric-Bass-Guitar-/320881342248?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item4ab604b728
 12. What's the issue with tattoos?
 13. Festival organisers told us that we were going to be on before New Model Army. We thought this was great. 26 hours before them, it turned out.
 14. I actually joined that forum before I realised that Basschat existed. It was a ghost town. I've recently been recieving spam e-mail from it.
 15. Yup - what Discreet said (except for the colander bit) I blame Louis Johnson
 16. I've played in a covers band which I quite enjoyed, but there were a few songs I had to play through gritted teeth, as they are not to my taste at all (e.g. 'How Long' by Ace and 'Never Seen the Rain' by CCR) For my current band, I made a decision to only play stuff I really enjoy. It took quite a bit longer to find compared to your average pub rock band, but well worth it. Of course, there are still some songs I prefer to others, but nothing anywhere near cringeworthy (all originals now)
 17. Dammit! Never mind - well done for getting so far
 18.
I love live music and never go because I can't afford the cost of travelling/tickets etc.
Ditch the jazz and join a tribute band, Bilbo - get some cash in your pocket
 19.
Don't buy French.........
You talking about the Sprinter? That's German, surely. Or maybe they are just words of wisdom based on your own experience?
For some reason, the tw*t had driven the rest of the band to Liverpool.
I blame lack of meat. A carnivore would never have done that
 20.
What about getting some black screws and screwing all the screws back in without the pickguard. That could look pretty cool!
I was going to give advice on filling holes, but this is a much better idea
 21. A favourite pop song of mine: and this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leohcvmf8kM
 22. Me: "This one's in E Flat Minor" Guitarist: "You sure? I thought it was D Sharp"
 23.
I bought a bog-standard 70's Japcrap Maya Precision ....
I'll look out for one of those as a backup. Maya is my little girl's name, and she'd be made up if it had her name on it. I even have a Fender vintage reissue pup lying around. Must be fate
 24.
Found a photo that illustrates the problem with the soundman's gear and lights all over the stage.
Being Roger Waters, I'd have thought you'd have no issues with small stages!
 25.
Ouch! It's times like this I wish there were more members in the band
Join these guys - they probably won't even notice!
