1. After some highly scientific tests using my kitchen scales, it's 4.2 kg / 9lb3oz approx!
2. Now £[s]950[/s] 850! For sale, my precious Shuker Jazz 4. I can barely let this one go, but it's being criminally underused at the moment. One of the finest basses I have ever owned, with a slim, fast neck. The quality of this bass is unbelievable. I got this from this very forum a few years ago and have since changed it from passive to a John East J-retro for fantastic versatility. No other changes have been made. The photos don't really do this fantastic bass justice, and the only bass I have ever owned that people regularly come up to me after gigs to say how great it looks! There is added mojo on the headstock at no extra cost, which I've tried to show in the pictures. The body has some very minor marks here and there but nothing that has penetrated the paintwork. It's in fantastic condition. There is one small crack in the body wood underneath where the neck joins the body, again shown in the pictures. However this is purely cosmetic and does not affect playability or the joint strength. I love this bass. I'm selling because as I said above it doesn't get much use over my other amazing jazz, and I need funds to put towards my (probably ill-advised) return the the world of 5-string. I will miss it dearly and would love for it to go to a loving home. I'm now sorted for a bongo so it's sale only!! Get the photos here!! Get yourself an amazing jazz in time for Christmas
3. I have one of these Deep Impact thingies - great pedal! - permanently connected to a Powertrain supply without any problems, ever!
4. I had the compressore, which I thought was great, my favourite compressor ever. I also hated the size and supply issue so got rid of it. I've been through many compressors and have settled on the Aguilar TLC, it's the only other compressor I've ever really been happy with. The lack of metering is a shame but I have learned to use my ear and I don't really miss it. Of the other compressors I've tried, the MXR is the one I'd probably go back to, all those LEDs can be quite handy!! The EBS is ok too, with its one knob compression control.
5. As an electronic and computer engineer, I would say that the system uses as much energy to transmit a "silent note" as it does for an actual played note. After all, it's sending to the receiver "silence!!!" Instead of "noise!!!" But it's still got to tell it... As its a digital system.
6. I'd stick with it too. Difference between buffered and true bypass is incredibly minor and unnoticable in most cases, especially for a decent buffered bypass, which the EBS undoubtedly should be. Also... http://www.ovnilab.c...multicomp.shtml : "The buffered bypass is just as good as the true bypass." EDIT: It also depends on how you will use it. If you leave it on all the time, like I do with a compressor pedal, why would you need a true bypass?!
7. This. Not very old, good condition, has velcro on the bottom. I don't have the original box but will be well packaged. I'll try and get pics up at some point!
8. I'm loving the look of these Maruszczyk Elwood jazzalikes. There seem to be so many different and wonderous ones available, that I fall in love with a different one every day. What's the wait time on these things once a custom order is placed?
9. I recently received a custom ordered Sandberg and it is my first. I ordered a dead posh top wood, swamp ash body for lightness and a couple of other options, so I guess you could call it slightly eye wateringly expensive. However, it is the lightest bass I have ever touched, even lighter than some guitars, and yet no neck dive. How can that be? Also the build quality is unbelievable, and the sound is like butter melting on my senses. I reckon you get what you pay for with these guys!
10. Staggeringly beautiful. If I had the money :,(
11. Bump for another tenner off, because I've just noticed that new ones can go for a hell of a lot cheaper than I paid for it!
12. Bump! Still here! I've had some trade offers but I am not looking for anything in particular at the moment.
13.
Ooosh! Check that badboy out! Gorgeous, and very unique. What is that top, it's incredible?! Colours look a bit like buckeye burl, but the grain is quite unusual..... Anyway, hope you're enjoying it!
Thanks! The top is buckeye maple so you're close! There are a load of other options too, but one of them is a swamp ash body, and requested an "extra light" piece of it. They came up trumps, and the whole thing is about 7lb13. Amazingly light thing and lighter than even some guitars I've tried! Oh, and it sounds amazing and the build quality is fantastic to boot!
14. I'm of a different opinion to most here. I think Bart pickups are brilliant and they've been the only pickups I've ever been happy with. Fat as hell when you need them to be and finely nuanced at other times. I've owned an ibanez at 4005 and 5000 in the past, both sounded amazing wth Bart pickups. Not tried nordstrand ones though!!!
15. Shuker and Sandberg jazz greatness
16. My new Sandberg California TM.
17. Hi! I have a Carvin B1000, which I've had for a year or so. If you're worried about this thing not being loud, don't. It has ridiculous headroom. I have even used it at an outdoor gig - there was only a tiny PA which I didn't use, and we are a loud band! - with no problems in the volume department. It also sounds pretty awesome but I have not tried the Streamliner so I can't offer a comparison. I used to have a GB Shuttlemax 12.2 but I much prefer the Carvin. Oh and the Carvin goes down to 2 ohms too so I run a 4ohm 2x12 and 8ohm 1x15 off it. It's fairly small and extremely light Awesome Put it this way: I haven't had amp GAS since I bought it, which is not like me at all Best amp I've ever owned.
18. Now sold! For sale, this fabulous compressor. You know what this is Though if you don't, here's a link to the Ovnilab review (it's one of the best compressors ever tested!) - http://www.ovnilab.c...diamobass.shtml This is in totally mint condition - I can't find a mark on it. I have added velcro on the bottom. Comes with the all important polarity reversing adapter, and also the original unused 18V 2-pin power supply (not to be used with the adapter!). This pedal can run on 9V, so you can use the adapter with a standard Boss-type 9V supply. Looking for [s]£160 plus P&P[/s] £140 posted!, cheapest I've found new are about £168 from Rock Gear, though they are unavailable (and my one is "as new" anyway...!). Collection from Bristol welcome. Any marks in the pics are just reflections because it's so shiny
19. Just had a dig around and realised I still have this so here's a bump for an old thread, still for sale!
