1. Damn interested in this beautiful jazz. Down in the saaf west though so how would it get down here?
2. I'm wondering how this compares to a jazz - in terms of sound, though I'm familiar with the U-retro preamp and know you can get a massive range of sounds from that one, but also in terms of general feel and playability.
3. Hi all! Just measured and it's 19mm string spacing nut width 44mm. As for trades, a quality classic jazz 4 string please, nothing else. Mayones Jabba, Sandberg TT/TM, etc. Lakland DJ4 perhaps, but I'm leaving 5 strings behind! Again...

Zoom B3

I have a Zoom B3 and it's pretty good. The compressors and synths are pants but the other effects are great, have a wet/dry mix setting which is a big plus and a lot of the effects (e.g. flangers) have a frequency setting so the effect is only applied above that frequency - handy to avoid e.g. nasty swelling bassy kind of sounds from a flanger. If the power supply dies, it can be run off standard Boss-type 9V or even USB (if you've got an old USB charger lying around you could use that!).

Compressors

I tried the compressors on a Zoom B9.1ut, then a Zoom B3, then a Line6 M13. All these are "multi-FX" processors and the compressors were all crap. I've also used an EBS Multicomp, which was pretty good as an "always-on" compressor and it's fairly simple to use, but the attack was not fast enough for me. I also had a Markbass Compressore for a while, which was definitely the best of the lot. But it is very big and needs its own power supply. I've recently ordered a MXR M87 so hopefully that will also be good!
6. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
7. Pics now added! I've had a good check over of this bass and it's in near mint condition. There are a couple of tiny dings on the end of the headstock (see pic) but nothing major. There's even still the plastic coating on the battery cover! I've been dying to peel that off but I'll leave that for the pleasure of the new owner!
8. NOW SOLD For sale, mint condition SFX Micro Thumpinator! There's a strip of velcro on the bottom for a pedal board but this can be removed. Looking for £85 posted. No trades, unless you're looking to trade a compressor - either an Aguilar TLC or (preferably) MXR M87.
9. For sale! Overwater by Tanglewood Contemporary J 5-string. Recently bought second hand "as new" but I don't really get on with it (it's a number of strings thing!). Near mint condition. I have also put on a brand new set of D'Addario round wound nickel strings. Collection or meet up near Bristol preferred. Looking for £[s]350[/s] 300!.
10. PMs replied to! Thanks for the offer of the Warwick Taria but I think that one's going to be too heavy for me. It is beautiful though, good luck with the sale!
11. Uh oh.... I had a Trace Elliot combo (one from 2006 ish), 500W 2x10. After a year or so it started doing this, just while warming up for a few minutes. It got so bad after a while that I had to unplug the speaker while it was warming up so the room wasn't drowned in crack pop noises. Turned out to be a design fault which was fixed by TE. But it doesn't look good for your amp, if it gets any worse I'd take it to an amp engineer asap to get it fixed. And storing an amp on its side should have no effect whatsoever.
12. I could be tempted, depending on weight (low) and scale (34"). That said, I'd consider any trade, preferably a lightweight 34" 5er or a quality jazzalike bass (Sandberg, Mayones, Sadowsky, ...). Preferably with some cash my way, though not too much as I'm a sucker for a quality bass!
13. After a recent good experience with a courier'ed bass, I have added a courier option!
14. Bump! Just taken delivery of a nice Tanglewater Contemporary J 5 and it sure is a lot heavier than this lovely Ibanez! (It's also not nearly as lovely but I was after a 5!)
15.
Do you know the weight please ?
Hello Mr Floop, unfortunately I don't have scales so I can't weigh it. It is an Ibanez SR though so I don't expect it could be classed as "heavy". It is very well balanced though!!
16. Friday night bummmmmmp. Offers and 5 strings considered!!!
