1. Bump..... just made some pics. Here's a link! https://www.dropbox.com/sh/7esbykv3ka2azlz/AABStXdpH3jMGjRBZDWmWBy2a?dl=0
2. For sale, this onboard preamp. Pretty well known and popular. Chrome plate, black knobs. This is the standard version, not the deluxe, so it has the jack on the control plate. Switch for active/passive and switch for pickup blend (either pickup blend, or an active mix setting). Stack for volume/blend, stack for bass/treble, stack for mid/mid freq. This was bought in March and installed in a Tanglewater classic jazz but it's been little used. £160 posted. Pics here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/7esbykv3ka2azlz/AABStXdpH3jMGjRBZDWmWBy2a?dl=0
3. I haven't been particularly keen to post because I have not done it before. I do have a cardboard box though and plenty of packing material. So if you want to arrange your own courier then I guess I can post!
4. I should add that it doesn't come with a case! As for trades, a sale is preferred as I've got my eye on something, but if you have a high end 4 string Jazz with appropriate cash adjustment - Mayones Jabba, Fender USA Jazz, that sort of thing - I would probably be interested!
5. For sale, this as-new Tanglewater Classic Jazz, candy apple red with matching headstock. It's a PJ pickup configuration - I have changed the P pickup to a Delano PMVC 4 FE/M2 which sounds awesome. I have kept the J pickup as the original - the two sound surprisingly good blended together. I have also replaced the passive control plate with an East J-retro. As it did not fit properly I have had to "adjust" the control cavity a bit. The results are messy but functional, hidden by the new control plate and do not affect playability or anything else. I will get pics up later, but it looks like this (NB this is not my photo or my bass!) http://www.beatitmusic.ie/images/over1.jpg Collection from Bristol or nearby meet up.
6. Seriously, the Carvin continues to astonish me. A couple of weeks ago we arrived for an outdoor rugby club gig - only to find that the "PA" was a crappy rig for pumping out disco tunes at parties but was unsuitable for an outdoor gig. We put the vocals through that (still distorted mind!) and ran instruments from only the backline. I had to whack the bass & sub bass up to about 7/10, and the volume to 5/10 and through my Barefaced 1x15 and 2x12 that was more than enough to fill an entire field with lovely bass and I detected not an ounce of distortion whatsoever - lovely and clean. Had to crank up the treble a bit too compared to normal. My only complaint was that it didn't quite have enough rumbly "sub-bass" though this could probably have been fixed with better EQing - we didn't have a lot of time for a sound check - perhaps knocking the bass & sub bass controls a bit further or turning up the volume & down the mids would have fixed it. Perhaps also the speaker area was small compared to an outdoor PA so more speakers would probably have helped (can go down to 2 ohm so I could even add another Barefaced Compact!! ) - would have given even more power too. But all that from a head that costs less than £500? Just mental.
7. Try Carvin amps.... I recently got a B1000 and now I probably won't be buying another amp ever again - unless it packs up Very small and light (though not F1 small!). Unbelievable amounts of clean headroom, tube preamp (bypassable) which sounds really rather good, a powerful yet simple EQ... and goes down to 2ohms if you like that sort of thing. All for a shocking price really considering the price I've paid for other amps over the years.
8. For sale, this great little pedal board. Covered on the top with the soft half of velcro, and including a power supply mounted to the underside! This gives eight 9V ports (0.25A each, centre negative just like Boss standard) and also three 18V ports (centre negative) for powering some 18V pedals like the Diamond compressor, or for giving more headroom to those pedals that can take it. The power supply underneath is actually a distribution unit powered by a 18V wall wart supply, which is also included, along with eight 9V connectors and one 18V connector for your pedals. The MXR compressor is shown to illustrate the board's size - but is NOT included!!! The board itself has a handle on the back and the soft case has a hole through which you can grab the handle for easy carrying. The case also has a separate pouch on the top for cables etc. Used condition but fully working order! £85 plus £10 P&P for this as it's bulky, or you're welcome to collect from Bristol or meet nearby.
9. Now sold! For sale, this classic compressor pedal. In pretty good condition for its age. I acquired it here on Basschat a few months ago and added some velcro to the bottom, but I have hardly used it. £80 plus £5 P&P or collected from Bristol!
10. Brilliant and flexible compressor from MXR! Perfect condition, apart from some velcro added to the bottom, but not used very much. £135 plus £5 P&P or collected from Bristol!
