  1. Wow - that sunburst is just lovely 😍
  2. It’s a see-through blonde finish, in natural light it’s certainly more yellowey in tone. Send me a PM if you want to discuss further. 👍
  3. Thought i’d share this as I feel this is quite a reasonable price for the mono dual bass bag - £179 (25% discount). https://kytary.co.uk/mono-m80-2b-blk/HN105681/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI4MTVvIv-5wIVRIXVCh2lEwnfEAUYAyABEgK93PD_BwE Never heard of or ordered from this site before but it seems legit and you can pay via PayPal.

  5. Thanks for posting this 👍 If you can get this on to a stage with your spine in tact, then it doesn’t get much better (IMO), proper earth shattering stuff. The folk-lore about Trace watts is true!!
  6. I believe this amp was the top of the range in the early 80’s. I think this one is an ‘84. It has the legendary GP11 pre-amp. Absolute beast of an amp with bi-amp facility, essentially two AH250’s in one enclosure. The sound is epic, classic Trace. All sliders and knob covers present. Working brilliantly. This is far too heavy and impractical for me. It weighs a lot! I can get quotes for delivery but collection would be best due to the weight. Trial welcomed in Cardiff.
  7. Clearing out a few pedals that are not receiving much use recently: 1. Cog CMB01 - A T-16, Mini 66 and Tarkin in one enclosure with order switching for the 66 & Tarkin - SOLD 2. A heavily road worn Boss TU-2, works fine - £25 3. An Ibanez PD7, a nice overdrive this with plenty of options - SOLD All prices include UK delivery.
  8. I’ve not owned this very long, another impulse purchase on my part! Only selling due to GAS for another instrument...
  9. Nice example of a transitional era Fender Jazz in the transparent blonde finish, this has the older style logo but with the 3 bolt neck plate and micro-tilt. This might attract any Marcus fans out there as it really nails that bright, snappy, articulate slap tone. Harmonics jump off this bass and it rings out forever! Currently setup with 40-100’s and a low action. Truss rod turning both ways nicely. It has usual signs of wear and tear consistent with its age, most notable is a slight lacquer chip on the back of the neck. I can’t feel this when playing but it’s worth a mention. Otherwise it’s all original except for replacement bridge saddles (I think) as these appear a bit more shiny, but I’m not sure, perhaps they were preserved when the bridge cover was present. Bridge and pickup cover along with original case are missing. Weight is 5kg as it’s a heavy ash body. It sits nicely on the strap and with a wide strap, it has been fine for me. I will include a generic hard-case in the sale. TRADED Trial welcome in Cardiff.
  10. Here’s my Thumb NT5 from 1992. You don’t see many with the original fitted case like this, I believe most were shipped with a rock bag as standard so this is nice, and very protective! The case weighs a tonne though! Additionally, I replaced the original brass bridge and tail piece with an official Warwick lighter weight equivalent, this shaved some of the weight off it. It weighs 4.75kg now which is below average (I believe) for one of these. The original hardware will of course be included. I’ve not experienced any neck dive with this Thumb, it balances perfectly. The only wear to note is a small patch above the p’up where the thumb rests. Otherwise it’s stunning. It is setup with a super-low action with no fret buzz anywhere. I’m open to offers. Based in Cardiff, UK. Not particularly interested in trades but you never know. My tastes are for more traditional passive basses at the moment.

  12. Looking for a Stingray at half the price? These were built in the same San Luis Obispo factory and present fantastic bang for your buck. Research them online and you’ll see they are well reviewed. It’s a 2EQ active version built in 2004, finished in white with non-original tort guard. The original aluminium effect guard will be included. You don’t seem to see so many of the white variety. It has a few marks, the worst of which I’ve photographed on the rear of the body. It’s otherwise in great shape. It plays and sounds exactly as a Stingray should, nice low action too. Trial / collection from Cardiff is welcomed. Happy to post also. No case but can be well protected for shipping.
  13. I recently got one of these, great basses, wasn’t really any difference between it and a custom shop I used to own. GLWTS.
  14. They’re Jaydee’s SN2000 pickups, same as those in most of their basses.
  15. A Thunderbird had always been on my wish list, I got this one recently when it came up for sale locally. The sound is huge but I just can't get fully comfortable with the ergonomics. According to Mr. John Diggins, less than 10 of these were produced so somewhat rare. I believe the year of production was '84. Mahogany body & neck, Ebony fingerboard. Schaller tuners. When I got this, the bridge was in a bad way, the screws had seized up making adjustments difficult, the bridge was sent to Jaydee and they refurbished it, adding one of the securing screws that was missing which was matched to the others for the correct aesthetic. It's fully operational now. The truss rod turns both ways without issue. It's a great instrument that has been clearly played a lot. It's a relic...full of light scratches, scrapes and dings (difficult to photograph due to the black finish), nothing significant and no neck break! I don't have a case for it but I have plenty of bubble wrap and a suitable box for shipping. UK shipping will be £30 but collection from Cardiff much preferred. I'll consider trades, a Jaydee Roadie would be ideal or a Stingray. Feedback thread here:
  16. Ryan bought a pair of PJB headphones from me. Super speedy payment and great communication. All good!
  17. Ian and I traded Fenders, J for P! Ian drove well out of his way (and in terrible weather conditions) to meet at a location that was certainly more convenient for myself. Total gent, smooth transaction, bass as described. Would happily deal with again.
  18. 2 sets of DR Sunbeams, Nickel 40-95. Put these on my Jazz basses for a change however too light for me. Only a few hours of play on both sets. Cut for a Fender Bass. One set has a box, the other doesn’t. £20 for the pair, posted in the UK.
  19. I recently acquired these in the sale on guitarguitar, bought them cause they were cheap, wore them for 5 mins and realised that whilst they sound excellent, my existing headphones do the job fine for practice. Just looking to get my money back as guitarguitar won’t accept returns on headphones. £55 posted to your UK address.
  20. I've been playing it a little today and I'm impressed with the sound and overall quality. Neck feels lovely, P-ish width but shallow front to back. I think it's an ebony fretboard but not 100% - it needs a good clean so could be Rosewood. Unfortunately one of the bridge height adjustment screws is not shifting despite a little WD40 and elbow grease, I snapped an Allen key trying to turn it : ( I think it's going to require a trip to my local tech. Thanks for this, I've sent an email over so hopefully I'll hear something. Does anyone know which tool is required to adjust the truss rod? I'm only familiar with fender-type rods and this is different, looks like a nut that would need a socket wrench thingy....
  21. It balances great! Feels quite light too, I haven't weighed it but I'm guessing around the 4kg mark.
  22. Another impulse purchase on my part. This came up locally and intrigued me, I'm a sucker for black with gold hardware - I have a much loved BB3000 with the same. It's been heavily gigged by the looks of it, plenty of scrapes and dings but nothing overly significant. Played by a chap in an 80's metal band called Samurai! I've found a couple of photo's online of the bass in a strong hair-metal context (one of which I've added below...)! I've never owned a Jaydee before and can't seem to find much information about these online. I'm assuming it was a custom order. If anyone knows anything about them, I'd love to hear. It plays surprisingly well and has a massive sound, even unplugged. I would like to reduce the action a bit however the bridge screws (Allen key type) seem to have seized up and won't turn. Also, how do you lower the pickups on these? Cheers.
