  1. Free to a good home or other project... This is a Schroeder 1515L cab. I got this before Xmas but unfortunately due to courier mishandling, it took a bit of a knock (see pic). The cab seems to work fine however the extent of the damage to the wooden frame is difficult to judge. Both I and the seller were reimbursed so anyone who would like this is welcome to collect it from Cardiff. Collection only on this. Kind regards, Graeme
  2. I haven’t heard of ‘Indian Laurel’ as a fingerboard material before? I believe the older CV’s were rosewood.
  3. I’m tempted as never owned a proper SVT - it’s just the phenomenal weight (38kg) that puts me off!
  4. I’m not sure!? I guess Tom could answer this question if required.
  5. I’ve owned this for just over a year and I’ve had my fun with this now... Whilst I’ve loved getting all Bootsy in the comfort of my own home, it’s had little use in a band context so time to move it on. It’s an excellent filter based on the Meatball with some extra features. Picture currently on my board but I can take some better pictures soon... £160 posted in the UK The following is Toms description: Input - this is a boost/cut to allow more control over the envelope. It's wired backwards due to the pot taper Trigger - This could be called threshold Attack and decay - these set how quickly the filter reacts Colour - This controls feedback/resonance. Careful with this one, you can kick out a ****load of low end with it Intensity - This is like a depth control, it is quite interactive with the trigger knob Blend - self-explanatory!! Gain, Tone and Level control the distortion that can be added in. This is a Rat clone. The three toggle switches on the left invert the phase of the signal, activate/bypass the Rat, and change the feedback on the filter. Half/Full/Off sets how the envelope is controlled. When set to Off, it becomes a fixed filter Up/Down sets the direction of the filter ("mwah" or "awum") High/Low sets the frequency of the filter HP/BP/LP sets the type of filter. Have fun!
  6. Oh damn! That white BB is tempting... be careful what you wish for eh!?
  7. Yes, its shallow-ish, slightly shallower than the BB1024 I owned before this. It’s such a solid, well-built beast of an instrument! And it’s the loudest bass I own unplugged. What I’d really like is a white one (like Johnathan Marons) to go alongside this that I could string with flats.... that would be very indulgent but completely necessary ofcourse 😂
  8. I thought I’d chime in with my BB now it’s been restored to its former goldy-ness with a replacement set of tuning machines... I acquired this BB about a year ago. It came with non-original Gotoh tuners in silver which clashed a little with the other gold hardware, so when a gold set of schallers appeared here on BC I could resist! I also previously installed a BB2024 p’up for a bit more thunderous low end! Love this bass!
  9. Looks interesting - I doubt it started life like this, it would probably help the sale if Carl could comment on its originality (if he remembers!)

  11. I bought a bass off David. Probably the most well packaged bass I’ve ever received! A quick and pleasant transaction. Thank you!
  12. Up for sale, my MiJ MM Jazz. This is a 2007 build. This has received some mods: - Nordstrand NJ4 Pickups - KiOgon solderless passive loom -V/T , V/T plus a series parallel switch and a mute switch. The tone capacitors are different values to give some more variety. As such, this is no longer an active bass. The original pre-amp and pups are long gone. The bass weighs 4.4kg UK shipping and hard shell case included in price.
  13. Yes, ordered via a company called Sontec that supply Yamaha parts in the UK... not the best customer service but the p’up arrived eventually.
  14. Great thread - I’ve also been on a BB journey over the last year... it started with a 1024 which blew me away, one of the best P tones I’ve heard and so much bass with the tone rolled off! Then I saw an ‘84 BB3000 for sale and curiosity got the better of me. I immediately preferred the slimmer (front to back) neck profile of the 3000 however the p’up output and tonal range wasn’t a match for the 1024 p’up. So I ordered a 1024 p’up from Yamaha and installed it in the 3000. This is now my most played bass and the 1024 has gone. The 3000 has a lovely resonance and feel of an older bass, and that powerful 1024 p’up seems to compliment it well. My BB needs are well met for now!
  15. Withdrawn for now, played it last night and got cold feet about letting her go 😬.
  16. It's certainly 3 band, unless I've misunderstood what this means!? It has controls for bass, mid and treble... along with a volume pot and pickup blend. The pre / pots may not be original but I can't tell, I've taken a picture of the guts in case anyone knows, the stacked pots both are MEC but the middle pot is not. Also, no doubt this is an '89. See pic.
  17. Wow, I've never seen it look so transparent, probably a sign I need to get out more 😀. Thanks for adding those pics 👍
  18. Up for sale, my Ampeg Micro VR stack, only a couple of years old and in fantastic condition, no rips or tears and in perfect working order. 200w @ 4 ohms Full spec here: https://ampeg.com/products/classic/microvr/ This thing sounds epic and seems louder than you might expect. Very lightweight too. Collection from Cardiff preferred
  19. You'll be hard pushed to find a nicer example of a Warwick Thumb. Unlike many Thumb basses, I've never had any neck-dive issues with this one, it has a high polish finish which is actually a very dark blue and somewhat translucent, but you'd just assume it was black unless shone under a very bright light. Of all the Warwick's I've owned, this one has the most highly figured wenge fingerboard, I've captured this as best as I can but it looks absolutely superb 'in the flesh'. The condition is pretty good for the age, it has various marks but nothing serious, these are generally difficult to pick out due to the dark finish. You will notice in the pictures that the finish has rippled very slightly over the laminated neck, I understand this is quite typical and in no way effects the integrity of the neck. Weight - 4.4kg It's a fantastic instrument and for me, it has the archetypal Warwick tone and one of the tightest, well-rounded open E's i've heard. No issues with the pickups, pre-amp or truss-rod. Currently set-up with a set of med-light DR Sunbeams. I'm based in Cardiff and would prefer collection but will of course ship in a flight-case (not original). Trial also welcome. See my feedback here on BC. EDIT: I'll consider trades for a nice Jazz bass but would ideally like some cash in my direction.
  20. An early B3K, handmade in Finland. It's seen plenty of use and has some dings and marks but it's in perfect working order. Velcro on the rear. Price inclusive of delivery in the UK. Feedback here:
  21. Traded pedals with Harry. No issues whatsoever and thoroughly professional throughout all aspects of the transaction. Cheers Buddy!
