In both my bands the full band helps with everyone's gear. We all help bring the gear into the venue, set up the backline stuff and then myself and the others help setting the PA and lighting up. PA and lighting belongs to the drummer but we all put the effort in. At the end of the night we let our guitarist head off early as he lives a fair distance from rest of us and almost always has a 1.5 drive after a gig. Dave

Just a wee update on the DI attenuator. Asked Designacable if they could do one and £28 for a short 12" cable with male and female neutriks at ends based on WoT's drawing. £28 plus £4.50 postage. Didn't fancy the Amazon version sticking out from the amp. I can secure this thru the handle at side of the amp. Really helpful guy at Designacable and will be using them from now on. Recently replaced my Shure wireless cable with a van damme version with angled jack on end. They did a great job. Dave

BLOCKBUSTARZ 70's Glam covers band at The Dreadnought in Bathgate last night, one of our fav venues. Had some issues with Handbox WB-100 DI being too hot (no pad on the desk) Bass was clipping in first set. SE fitted a DI in the break and all sorted. Great turnout with lots of dancers all night after the initial staring at the outfits for first few songs. Mobile cameras going all night from 8:30 till we finished 11:30 with a 10min break in middle. No vids or pics as yet. Group of "fans" came down from Dundee to see us after we played Beat Generator few mths back and quite a few came up from Dumfries & Galloway to see us too. Looks like we are getting a fan base Thoroughly enjoyed it. Dave

Aye you've come a long way from those early horse box gigs to ballroom gigs and that's just the changing rooms. Have to admit i wouldn't have gone with the horsebox. Our stage gear cost us a few quid and i'm careful not to damage it. Dave

That sounds like an interesting idea to include it in a contract. Lot of our gigs don't have contracts tho but maybe we should look into that a bit more. Dave

We are quite lucky that our drummer has a friend with a very large house he rents out for holidays. It has a large function room and he lets us use it if not being rented or there's a cancellation. We managed to set up the PA with both versions we use. Punk band normally just use QSC 12's and the Glam band playing bigger venues we use the 15's which are 3 way cabs altho guitar and bass normally just use our backline unless its a very big venue we bring the 2 subs (QSC) but we need to hire a van for them. Lot of venues we play have their own PA these days which are normally OK gear with some cracking rigs and Sound guys. If we use the largest PA we bring a sound guy that we know. Dave

Yep your full band needs discipline when setting up and sound checking. No faffing around or blethering unless its about the gig. Once set up and sound checked you can chat all you like until gig starts. We give ourselves 1 hr with punk band and 2 hrs with Glam band mainly because it takes time to get dressed up plus we have 2 lead singers and 2 BV's plus sound effects altho desk is a digital one and we store the band settings to give us a starting point at the gig. We also have back drop and more lights with Glam band. If we need to eat before playing depending on travel times we allow an extra 30-45mins. Dave

Think that was my other choice but went for the Shure because our band has experience with Shure wireless systems and we've found them extremely reliable. Our female singer has opted for the sennheiser wireless mic system altho its the amp top receiver version. Dave

I found the feedback switch tightens up the low end. That's just my own experience and i'm not sure what the technical answer might be. It feels like it cuts low end boom a bit. I normally have it on normal but i'm going to try it both ways on Sat night at sound check at decent volumes to see the effect it has. I have the A4 info sheet i got with the amp but not sure what i did with it to see what the explanation is again. If i come across it i'll post it here. Dave
