  1. Now that was really nice. I could probably get it if i worked at it but couldn't maintain that speed for too long. Would def take me a while to work it out. Really enjoyed that plus a gorgeous background to be playing against. Dave
  2. I just love the Sandberg necks. Every one i've tried has been top notch and unable to fault. Yep keep us posted what you think of them when they come in. Dave
  3. Just read that thread and i think i've got it mostly right but came across this version and its easy to follow and makes sense how he does it plus great playing from the guy.
  4. Just joined a punk covers band and been working on this very song. I think i got it right but it took a few trys to get there. I did come across this guy doing it and his tone makes it very clear and you can see what he's doing.
  5. Just joined a punk covers band and have 42 songs to learn for 5th Sept. Was never a big punk fan and always thought the songs simple and basic but i'm coming across a few songs that are really quite nice bass lines. Babylons Burning by Ruts and White Riot by Clash are 2 that stand out for me. The Ruts song has amazing little fills on the chorus and the Clash song verse has a great bass riff that is played quite fast. Took me a few goes to get that one right as i'm traditionally a fingerstyle player but learning how to use a plectrum again for this band. Oddly enough i can play it fairly easy with fingers but pick was hard work getting it right. Dave
  6. Sorry i cant offer any help here but i prefer the California or Jazz style Sandbergs. Have a VM4 but quite fancy a passive J or even a passive P. Both are nice looking basses but i reckon you might get more tone choices from the top one. Dave
  7. It makes you a traitor to the 12 stringer ๐Ÿ˜‚ 50 basses is a lot. Dave
  8. I started using the Senner ones on the bike that also have a metal tube container for your keyring. Personally i just put the container in my pocket. Dave
  9. A gig's a gig fur awe that. ๐Ÿ˜ Pretty sure we've all played them too. Dave
  10. Definitely. Mine is only my right ear. Left ear is fine.. Dave
  11. I've started using mine in the house when practising the songs. Not because i play loud at home but i'm hoping it gets me more used to them again. I've been playing in reasonably sensible bands lately where stage volume isnt overly loud but the new punk band i've been told are a bit louder. I'll definitely be using them from now on. On subject of my tinnitus i've noticed the changes in weather have affected it and its a bit more noticeable at moment. Same when i'm stressed or i have a migraine the tinnitus gets worse for a week or so then dies off again. Its always there but usually not too noticeable. Dave
  12. Sound was good because a bass player was in charge. Cannae beat the qualities of a bass player. Dave
  13. AGAIN ..... "only in Oban" ... ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Must have been a tourist. ๐Ÿ‘ Have to wonder at the kind of venues you're playing up there in Oban. @ubit Dave
  14. were you going for that bathroom reverb sound there ๐Ÿ˜‚
  15. Only in Oban ๐Ÿ˜‚
  16. Sorry to hear about Eileen. Such a shame. Hopefully Ted was ok. When i met him in Aldi he was with his sister so he's obviously never shopped LOL Like the new band name mate. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Will try and make one of the gigs. Dave
  17. I had no idea Ted's wife had passed. When was that ? I met him in Aldi's just after he bought himself a Range Rover. Obviously we were talking cars at the time. That's 3 Friday nights i would like to get to. Time permitting i might come down. Whats your band called Lee. Dave
  18. Will do Lee. They have done Girdwoods in Wishaw a couple of times but will probably put something up on FB when gigs start. They were playing last night at Dreadnought in Bathgate. I know they want me to play a gig on 18th Sept in Falkirk but dont have any details. They have a few other requests to play venues but i dont have the details of anything as yet till its all made official over next few days. On another note i see Nightfly are playing Horse & Jockey soon. That could be a great night but a bit of a squeeze. Dave
  19. I'm not usually a pick player but have made a point of using one for authenticity and apart from my pick hand getting a bit sore its really quite good fun using one. Dave
  20. Wee pic of the Sandberg would be nice. @MNY๐Ÿ˜‚
  21. Its one of the songs i didnt recognise to be honest. Dave
  22. Yep its in there.... 2nd set Dave
  23. That's an unusual look. Any pics would be good to see that. I hate wearing ties so not something i'd wear. Shirts and ties for work for too many yrs and aint going back to that again LOL
