1. My band are playing a charity gig on the 2nd August at the Asylum in Birmingham. 4 bands are playing, tickets are only £3 and all the money goes towards the charity. Would be amazing if some BCers could be there and show support. http://www.facebook.com/events/1378205875736382/
2. Played a small "festival". Was a really good turn out. Way too hot inside. As I'm setting up I noticed that the power adapter to my effect pedal had a cut so would only work in a certain position. Then the battery in my 5 string died and I didn't have a back up so I had to switch to my 4 string. Seemed to go down really well. I was a little bit drunk which seemed to relax me so I could have more fun with the songs
3. Sounds awesome Dave. Looking forward to the Cross gig
4. Takes some getting used to as there's lots of menus and knob twiddling but once you've got your head around it it's a really nice piece of kit. I use mine for OD/Fuzz, chorus, flange, wah...pretty much everything bar the synth.
5. Few pics taken from our BBC gig And one from our last gig....long story with the stickers.....
6. Nice one. My band recently did some BBC stuff. Loving the upright.
7. Sorry it's late notice, been working my arse off and have hardly been on my PC. My band are playing at the Flapper in Brum tonight. We're on at about 8ish, 4 bands playing. £5entry. Would be awesome to see some BC'ers there http://www.facebook.com/events/577658065592134/
8. So as I have mentioned previously the BBC had asked my band to do a live gig/recording for them which we did last month. We were played on Saturday evening but you can now listen on their website....with film to be added to the iPlayer in the coming months. TBH it's not the best performance we have ever given. Few f*** ups but nothing too major. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p018g99d We're on at about 40mins in and then 1hr40.
9. Played a gig/live recording for the BBC last night at the Cock and Magpie in Bewdley. Really really nice venue. Stage was a bit cramped (thank god we don't have a 2nd guitarist as there was just enough space for me on my side). Pretty good turn out considering it wasn't really a gig. Had some photo's taken and we were filmed and said film shall be uploaded to the BBC iPlayer at some point soon...my ugly face is gonna be on the iPlayer....silly BBC. I shall upload a few live pics as soon as I have them..for now here is a picture of the stage. PS. We discovered that we can easily fit our whole back line in two small cars.
10. Hahaha I had my foot on the bass drum while I was talking to Chelsea (the drummer). Last few hours to vote as well. Could be in with a chance
11. We've always had a guitar scratch track done that I follow along with the drums. Might be different from a covers band as the bass line is already known or maybe it's just personal preference.
12. Sadly they are stuck with me. Our poor drummer also happens to be my lovely girlfriend :-D
13. 1st I shall ask for a favour. My band are asked for votes to help us play on the RedBull stage at Download. All you need to do is click on the following link and click vote. That's it. Nothing else. Would make me one happy happy bassist. http://download.redbullstudios.com/band/khaos-theory/ Now for some good news. We are going to be on the BBC iPlayer/radio soon. We are playing/being interviewed/recorded this Sunday for the BBC introducing. They are gonna make us "Band of the Week" and feature us on the iPlayer and on BBC Hereford and Worcester. Hopefully it will lead on to bigger and better things. I shall be posting links as soon as they are up. Thanks in advance for any votes.
14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdfZxsOvs3Y Really happy with how everything turned out. Had such a bad hangover doing the live shots
15. Played a gig with a Rammstien tribute band at the Roadhouse in Birmingham on Friday. They had NO BASSIST! so I took my new Ashdown rig. Worked like a beast. Gig was just amazing. Full of bikers and hot girls. Got rid of about 10 albums.
16. I would advise getting a MIDI cable and hooking it up to your PC. So much easier to edit patches that way.
17. It's nice to be in a band with just the 1 guitarist. Ok he's LOUD as sin but at least I don't have 2 of them to compete with. Glad you enjoyed it.
18. After nearly 2 years my band have finally got a proper video. Really happy with how it turned out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdfZxsOvs3Y&feature=youtube_gdata_player
19. Played at the Roadhouse in Brum. Was the 1st time I have used my potential new head (Ashdown EB180H..currently borrowing it before I buy). Was the most fun I've had on stage in a while. Sound was a bit too bass heavy on stage, couldn't really hear much guitar when stood near my amp...But I like to stand more in the middle anyways so wasn't much of a problem
