1. Bump-great bass at a great price!
2. Someone told me cat litter (unused!) works well at absorbing odours - have n't tried it myself though! The coffee idea probably more palatable!
3. Have used D'Addarios for ages - the EXL170 set (45-65-80-100) worked out best for me. They last for ages, are consistent in quality and tone too. As mentioned above, best deals to be had buying the twin packs if you can find 'em.
4. Had a 4x10 combo once - okay, but not v.loud or tonally wonderful either! They diid a 1x15 combo too, both using Celestion speakers with an 11 band graphic I think. They seem to fetch around £90 these days, and are not particularly sought after. Hope this helps, cheers.
5. Think it is an Ampeg V6-B. Made in the 1970's, part of Ampegs first wave of solid state kit I think. 240 watts into 4 ohms, simple controls etc - probably at lower end of their range?
6. Price reduction bump.
7. Southside Johnny&the Asbury Jukes Best bar band in the world, no 2 gigs&sets ever the same, occasional jams with Springsteen/E-Street band members/ Bon Jovi etc/ amazing brass section, great songs in their massive repertoire (both original&covers),wonderful guitar player Bobby Bandiera, ace frontman! And I know most of their stuff too! Catch this great band on tour in the UK this November.
8. Sympathy for the devil - Stones Evil woman- ELO Evil ways - Santana Ghost riders in the sky Ghost train - Counting Crows Devil jumped the black man - Lightnin Hopkins Devil and daughter - Black sabbath Devil's answer - Atomic Rooster Spooky - Atlanta Rhythm Section Dead babies - Alice Cooper Dead or Alive - Bon Jovi Murder incorporated - Bruce Springsteen Vampire Blues - Neil Young Witch's Promise - Jethro Tull Bad Moon Rising - Creedence Clearwater Revival Witchy woman - Eagles (Sorry about Ghost Riders, but hey........ if you're doing Ghostbusters!!)
9. Thanks-Got a bit of interest but nothing solid as yet!
10. Met Mart at the weekend - despite our Sterling/Stingray trade not coming off, he nevertheless posted me a spare scratchplate, with the wish that I made a contrbution to basschat for it. (Did this today after receiving the plate, posted first class too!) Top bloke or what!
11.
It's very pretty. Good luck with the sale.
Cheers mate - do you think the price is fair? I think so - bass is in great shape. I really thought this would have been snapped up. Would maybe consider (very!) near offer.
12. Looking like I may be available New years Eve this year, so does anyone need a dep? Lots of covers/function experience, got good gear and attitude + a dinner suit etc! Good busker/backing vocals, some reading ability too. Any paid gig considered, preferable North region but will travel further if needs be. Cheers Pete.
13. Okay, final bump for a last price reduction! Or it's back under the stairs for you two.......
14.
You'll go to Hell (or was that Hull?..... same difference)
No the same difference at all mate........its a damned sight warmer in Hell
15. Just bought a Behringer DI - top fella! Quick delivery too/ Thanks!
16. Still for sale / available to trade.
17.
How about trades for a 5 string stingray?
Sorry mate, I struggle with 4..... Thanks anyway.
18. Thought these would have been snapped up at this price. Can maybe post if that helps, very near offers considered also. (Otherwise its to the evil bay - never thought I'd have to use that basschat cliche!)
19. PM's replied to!
20. Thanks, but am a Musicman freak and am really after a Stingray or a straight cash sale. Cheers anyway Pete.
21.
Great price..recently bought a green one here on Bass-chat. Excellent basses, good luck with the trade/sale
Cheers mate. I'll be sad to see this go,its a great bass.
22. After a lot of agonizing, have decided to it's time to move on my gorgeous Sterling. Taken me a long time to realise that I prefer Stingray/Precision type necks to the slimmer Sterling/Jazz ones, so am either looking for a straight sale or possibly a trade for a Stingray. Not too fussed over colour and fingerboard, though would like something that's in similar condition to mine and medium/light in weight. So, according to Aziah at Ernie Ball my Sterling "was born on November 2nd. 2000 in San Luis Obispo California". I am the second owner, having had it since approx 2004 if I remember correctly. Has always been looked after, and has n't been used for the last year or so due to me having an accident which stopped me playing for a while. Finish is Honey Sunburst with a rosewood fingerboard. It has a white pearloid scratchplate fitted, but I still have the original plain white one so you can have which one you prefer. Condition is immaculate-virtually unblemished apart from a tiny laquer mark (just near the output socket) which is barely noticeable. The neck is pristine, the headstock has a couple of tiny marks which again are hard to spot. Overall it is in fantastic condition, especially as it is coming up 9 years old. Original MM hardcase is included (with unused key!) - case is in excellent condition,as have used a flightcase a lot of the time. Think it will be hard to find a Sterling this age in better nick reall I am in East Yorkshire near Hull, but could help with delivery in Yorkshire/North if necessary. Would prefer not to post to ensure you are happy with it/arrives okay etc, but will discuss carriage if no other option. Cheers for looking. ( SOLD to someone not on here, but thanks for the interest shown. )
23. Sold pending usual
