It suddenly dawned on me that 2 members of the group appeared in the Breaking Bad spinoff 'Better Call Saul,.. Ed Bagley Jr and Michael McKean.

I just told them in a text that I wasn't enjoying it so I'd be quitting, they were OK about it. It's the first time I've had to quit a band so I'm glad it turned out OK.

To be honest, the singer is a lovely lady, but she is a singer who sings in the bath, and has no live experience. She answered their ad, but has to read the words off an ipad. We did an open mike night recently, and it was a disaster. They are friendly enough and nice folk, apart from the guitarist who is a monumental bell end.

I have been rehearsing with this band since March this year. I can't see it going anywhere and I think I would like to bail out, but they are nice people. I don't want to upset anybody. anybody had to do this before?

Just recently got home from a trip to Memphis and Nashville. While I was there, I popped into the Musicians Hall of Fame in Nashville where I managed to get a photo of the 61 Jazz Bass used by the late great Joe Osbourn on hundreds of hits. Fantastic!! π

What happened to The Selecter? Not on iPlayer, not on the BBC live feed. Does nobody like old school 2Tone anymore?

Is it my telly or did John Fogerty sound really empty? Most of the band had mikes but there was no backing vocals at all. In fact John kept turning away from his mike so often, it sounded like an instrumental karaoke show. π

I really struggle to get the timing right on the intro to Sex On Fire. I can never come in at the right time. The bassline itself is simple enough, its the timing that throws me off.

I bought this 1978 Precision on here back in the autumn. I was 13 in 1978, watching Space 1999 and listening to You're The One That I Want which was constantly on the radio then. I wonder if that makes me vintage? π

Has anyone tried these? I'm not a big fan of coated strings, but the blurb says that they feel like uncoated ones. I might give them a go, as I like to give different brands a try https://www.stringsdirect.co.uk/products/daddario-xt-coated-nickel-plated-steel-45-105-bass-guitar-strings-long-scale

Chas himself was a bass player. In fact, he played on a lot of early 60s Joe Meek recordings.

We do a couple of AC/DC covers which are are basically root note plodders. I tried to to make them a bit more interesting by adding a few fills etc. Unfortunately, it didn't work with those songs. So I guess less is better in that case.

I quite enjoy paying Alive by Pearl Jam. Its not overly tricky to play, but I like doing it. Also London Calling and Black Night I get a kick out of playing.

Bought a 1978 Fender Precision from Nick. Great comms and kept me updated on the tracking info. Would deffo deal with him again, and would recommend him to other Basschatters. π

I bought this lovely looking bass earlier this year, but I cant get on with it. I have tried to love it but I just cant bond with it. I have never gigged it or used it for more than a few hours. Comes with with original GG case and accessories. It has been set up this morning with Ernie Ball super slinkies and plays fantastic. I hope someone from here can give the love and attention it deserves. One Piece maple neck, old school 2 saddles and ash body. Β£1500 posted including case. Not interested in trades, sale only. Sky Arts and other music related programmes

I missed that. I wouldn't mind seeing it again if they repeat it. But it is not on tonight's schedule .Do they often repeat these shows on Sky Arts ?? -
Some schools and musical charities with little to no budget used to take old strings to put on guitars, basses. I wonder if they still do..

Post your pictures, Lets see what you all look like.

There is a lady on youtube called Ryan Madora. She teaches some excellent basic beginner blues bass lines. I've been watching her for a while, even though I play that stuff fairly well, I still like to watch her videos.

I have been looking around for a padded bag or case to put my little mark Black line 250 in. There is an official markbass one that goes for about Β£60. But a lot of places don't have it in stock. Has anybody got any suggestions for something that will do the job?

I bought this little 10 inch speaker to practise at home. But in fact, I was quite surprised how pokey it is. Especially when the neighbours knocked and asked me to turn the sound down! π I might even consider to use it for small gigs.

I think some of the punters who enjoyed it sort of 'encouraged' them. π

Well, we finally got paid in the end. However, a few of the punters have refused to drink in there again. There was no agreement about payment based on bar receipts as far as I know.
