  1. What I find worse with Dual Lock is getting it off a pedal if you ever need to, selling it etc, the adhesive is wicked!
  2. I'm the original owner and commissioned the modifications on this one, and it's no exaggeration when I say it, totally transformed the bass tonally. Night and day, the licensed barts ruin these basses. GLWTS!
  3. Yup, cheers.
  4. The automatic positive feedback idea is good, as lazy/inconsiderate buyers do my head in, the rest not so much, but at the end of the day you're choosing to use their service to sell your item. It's up to them what service they offer you, and yeah, walk away and use something else if it doesn't suit. I avoid selling on eBay due to their incredibly buyer-biased approach, and their hidden policy to side with the buyer EVERY time. It makes selling unworkable unless you can afford to throw money away on return postage for buyers who figure out how easy it is to force a return.
  5. try another, maybe? The scratch could be indicative of it already having been returned before for being a dud.
  6. Doesn't sound right, even the most basic of mutton circuit clones should have more than enough range to stop it from triggering.
  7. I'd still like one of these, but its £399 odd for a Ray 4 (closest core line bass) and that one comes with an active preamp. £575 is just too much for what it is, which is a shame.
  8. £4k for a refinished Wal that's had its electrics messed with? Sounds like a scam, just perhaps not the usual Gumtree kind...
  9. Not sure if you've considered selling this as a comms sale at BassBros, but I feel this would sell very quickly, Specials never hang around for long. No idea why it isn't shifting here!
  10. Outstanding work, bravo! Million dollar question - do you take commissions?!
  11. You fell in love with the cheapest of the bunch! Bodes well
  12. Common them here, but this, a Wal Mk2 Sold it for the right reasons, and there have been dozens of times I'd have likely sold it again, but there was nothing like that tone. And, naturally, its value now compared to then is painful, even with the profit I made on it at the time.
  13. That'd be the horses for courses bit And ah, maybe I am thinking of another licensed Bart then, perhaps the BH-1? Edit* quick google search seems to suggest there have been MK1's with split coils and humbuckers, not too surprising!
  14. They may do, but from first hand experience, they are muddy, dull and lifeless, lacking any character, or "colour", to redeem them. I ripped out BH-2's (very similar to MK1s) from an Ibanez and replaced with a full US bart setup, night and day difference, totally transformed the bass. Horses for courses I guess!
  15. To be fair, there is a big pickup/preamp upgrade there. Licensed Barts are generally awful, US Bart setup is incomparable. But not a lot else.
  16. If it was me, i'd weigh up what i'm losing by selling this in its current state, vs getting it cleaned up. How much would you be listing this for in its pre-storage state? If its a big difference, i'd definitely keep it and at least try and get it disassembled and cleaned up in a different environment.
  17. This is absolutely gorgeous. Everything about the aesthetic just works beautifully!
  18. Sunburst with that nice bit of grain coming through with no drill holes - beautiful!
  19. Sounds fantastic, what a band too!
  20. Yup, looks like they're coming in a bit cheaper https://www.thomann.co.uk/tobias_growler_v.htm If its a proper US bart setup, its not too bad.
  21. A1. I have used active and passive basses over the last 8 years or so without issues. A2. I use a GLXD16 and a guitarist in one of my bands uses GLXD16+, so more restricted bandwidth than you're talking about and never had a whisper of an issue. I have however found that some 2.4ghz IEM systems can clash, but that shouldn't be an issued with a +.
  22. Love the Growler, but £1500 for what looks like on the face of it a bass built to the same standard as other sub £800 far east basses in likely the same factory - no ta.
  23. Somehow, this shocks me more than the scale length 😅 Who makes strings long enough for this?
  24. You often see Reverb sellers do this for a few days. They then reduce the price and Reverb flags it as a 50% discount or whatever it may be.
