Look for an old FireWire MOTU unit - I’m still running a mk1 828 and it’s rock solid. MOTU. Still have legacy drivers on their website too, so they’ve got that going for them too.

Did you use File>Save Copy>then tick the box that says ‘copy all audio files’, or just saved the project to a new directory? Coild be that the Project folder is different to the Audio folder, and you’ve got one without the other, so PT is able to reference the files, but not actually use them.

My current squeeze is a variation on the 903 tube drive - really great tube overdrive. This isn't my video, but should give you a good idea of what it's capable of.
