1.
This is the problem. I encountered the same problem when I got a refund from a transaction (because delivery to NI was going to cost an extra £30!) a couple of months ago (June, I believe). It took a couple of weeks, but it did eventually come through, and all the angry emails I sent them never got a proper response from somebody (or something) that could understand what I was actually saying. Just automated responses which made promises of a proper response, but none was ever forthcoming. I suppose what I'm saying is sit tight and hope they make good on their refund. Then resolve to avoid it like a plague.
Thanks that's reassuring. It's not a great deal of money but I was rather angry at the seller who sold me a cosmetically damaged amp and then more or less accused me of lying about the issue. It's an eBay item of course but the window of opportunity for any resolution is rapidly approaching so I'm worrying in case the refund 'bounces', the seller says 'tough luck' and eBay says its outside their return policy time limitations. Hopefully that won't happen.
2. Cheers for the support everyone I'm going to have to investigate this further but I will certainly make a formal complaint. I'll let you know if I get any outcome or if the money actually clears!
3. I don't think it's gone to my bank account as it was a partial refund and I paid from my PayPal balance. I haven't used the account subsequently because I prefer to use PayPal as a 'float' so I don't use my bank account directly - that's because I've never really trusted them! Still trying to find a working phone number for them too - like many modern companies they pontificate about customer service and transparent working practices but remain as opaque as a pint of Guinness and as user friendly as an iPad with no screen.
4. Yes those three dreaded little Ps again! This time I've been waiting far too long for a partial refund to plonk into my account. Refunded on the 20th Oct - seller sends an email informing me its been refunded and left his account. I get an email from PayPal saying the refund has taken place. I check my account balance - it's at zero - I check the payment details for said refund 'Pending until Oct 27th. Ok a week fair enough....however I'm still waiting! Have contacted seller who sent a screenshot of the transaction details at his end I contacted PayPal three times by email to get automated emails that said nothing of relevance. Today I tried ringing several of their provided numbers and guess what? 'The number you have dialled has not been recognised' ....???!!! So then I tried to send an email complaint but it didn't let me sign the declaration at the end and kept sending me into an endless loop of redirected pages. I gave up. Any ideas or similar experiences?

There's an awful lot of nice P basses up for sale at the moment but here goes.... This is my early JV Squier Precision bass - for those not in the know these are very special basses indeed and were made to the original specs of the Fender Pre CBS basses. This has the serial JV followed by five digits beginning number 2 making it late Oct 1982- January 83. It comes with the case it was originally purchased with and both are in excellent cosmetic and working condition. All hardware works as it should and the neck is straight with plenty of life in the frets and a working trussrod. The bass is light at just over 8lbs and balances well on a strap. The original pickup sounds just like a vintage P should and its currently strung with old mellow roundwounds. The original sunburst finish is in excellent condition with no chips or major scratches, there are some small blemishes consumate with age but only minor dings. The neck is lovely and clean with only a small scratch on the front of the headstock. All hardware is original however the scratchplate is an old replacement. The case has had a new handle fitted at some point. The bass plays and sounds superb and Ive not seen a sunburst one in such good condition. http://www.21frets.com
11. Same bass but the Ibanez ones fetch the premium price....what's in a name eh?
12. Nice my first bass was a Musicmaster - what's the weight and how would it be shipped?
13. And pm'd re head
14. I had the chance too Jon but he messed me around for ages changing the goalposts of the original deal and price then finally pulling out. It wasn't worth the stress!
15. I've been in touch with him and he has a specific sum in mind that he'd accept for it otherwise he says he'll keep it. He seems a genuine seller - unlike other recent vintage Fender sellers mentioned elsewhere 😉. There's no harm in having a look Karl.
16. To allow the sale to go ahead is disgraceful - once again I'm amazed at how immoral eBay has become. Despite several reports of foul play this person has been able to sell an obvious fake. Initially I thought the seller was unaware that the instrument was bogus but having been told that the bass was not a real Fender they have chosen to ignore the friendly advice and have gone through with a sale. Surely that constitutes a fraudulent sale?
17. Yep another Akkerman fan here so him at Kendal Brewery Arts great gig, great players. He was hiding behind his amp having a fag and blaming the ciggy smoke on the valves cooking - great character I spoke to him afterwards and he even signed my Focus CD.
18. Either very ignorant or another scammer is born Despite the odd looking ID stamps, the machine heads and decal are wrong, pickups look too new, backplate plating looks too shiny and wrong and the truss rod has the wrong type of nut. What do you think? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1969-USA-FENDER-PRECISION-BASS-COMPLETE-WITH-HARD-CASE/111485049623?_trksid=p2047675.c100009.m1982&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D24932%26meid%3D5c7cecd71af0486e84003c249bd5d048%26pid%3D100009%26prg%3D10513%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D10%26sd%3D281469825444
19. I've asked if he'd post - waiting!
20. I thought the first bunch of Geddys were supposed to be a limited edition - hence the engraved plate - and they became so popular they made them into a full production model.
21. Glad you are happy with it - it's a lovely looking and playing thing but as I said too complex for a simple soul like me
