  1. What are they smoking in there?
  2. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224785266543?hash=item34563ef76f%3Ag%3A0mQAAOSwGulh3Yah&LH_ItemCondition=3000 Yes well…..
  3. Markbass passive DI box designed specifically for bass - purchased for using with a vintage valve amp in the studio but not used. Some cosmetic wear from being in my spares bag but otherwise excellent. Postage will be £4.
  4. Tortoiseshell plate in excellent condition. Some surface scratches but no cracks or deep scratches. Genuine Fender US scratchplate. Postage will be £4.
  5. As it says on the tin - great condition comes with mounting screws - these are a bit worn. Posted for £3
  6. This bass has served me well, a real work horse, comfortable to play and sounds great. The classic black and maple combo. It has been regularly gigged and as such has some scrapes to the back and blemishes and a couple of dings on the back of the neck and headstock. Nothing structural or major just honest play and gig wear. Frets are in good condition and the neck is straight with a working truss-rod. It has the original truss-rod tool and Allen key in the case pocket with the owners booklet and inspection tag. There is a service note from Jack’s instrument repairs of Manchester. It had a replacement bone nut fitted some years ago and the S1 switch circuit was replaced with a normal pot - the S1 switch and original knobs are included. It weighs 4.4kgs and is well balanced. The case is worn and has stickers on it, the cloth tags that keep the case open at right angles have become detached although it still works and it even has its original key! I have used this bass exclusively for some time however owing to an issue with my fretting hand I have had to switch to short scale basses and have invested in an expensive shorty! Reluctantly this has to go. No trades sorry. The bass is for sale in the U.K. only. I’d rather it be picked up but I can post at your cost. I will of course entertain sensible offers.

I bought a Musicman from Paul, excellent bass, quick postage and easy to deal with. Perfect. Many thanks!
  8. Nano amp now sold Markbass Traveller 121 H 400 watt Cabinet Moving a few pieces of spare gear on. 12”8 ohm cabinet with switchable horn and cover The cabinet is near mint and is very powerful for the size. I’d prefer pickup from Lancaster Cabinet - £230

  9. Nice what's its weight though?
  10. Looking more closely at it it is a very early Marathon Mk I. These basses have the extra large pickup route under the scratchplate as they are made up from remainder Hayman body and neck parts. The trussrod access is located under the little serial number plate you can see beneath the neck plate. A warning as these can be difficult to adjust and can easily seize or be badly worn. Hayman type necks are much chunkier than those on later Shergold basses. That said this is my favourite style Marathon bass. My first full scale bass was like this and we added a Dimarzio Jazz bass to it. Great sound and feel.
  11. £500 is more realistic but yes I’d be wary given the lack of feedback and the daft price of the original listing.
  12. I’ve had a couple of these, they are a bit of a one trick pony with the big mudbucker pickup. Certainly a nice looking instrument in a classic colour scheme however if you haven’t played one be aware that the neck is fat and clubby and they are generally over the 4.5kgs mark weight wise. I like them personally and would love a black and maple one as in the pics above but I wouldn’t pay more than 2k. I think Dust and Barley on here still has one of mine, I miss that bass!
  13. I would hope so
  14. A nice bass but bonkers price… https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/334272214154?hash=item4dd42d348a%3Ag%3A5U8AAOSwUwxhzIlb&LH_ItemCondition=3000
  15. Not seen a daphne blue one with a rosewood board before. Nice looking instrument.
  16. Christmas means paying an over the top price for a project….. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/393809458254?hash=item5bb0df744e%3Ag%3Ap38AAOSwa4lhwKMG&LH_ItemCondition=3000
  17. I’ve used this as a spare for a while but other than a couple of gigs where my old amp blew a fuse it hasn’t done much service. I bought it used and it had been serviced by Real-electronics Sheffield who are the recommended service centre for Markbass in the U.K. There is some cosmetic damage to the finish on the top of the amp where it has been in my gig bag and the gain control could do with a squirt of cleaner but the amp is loud and punchy and works as it ought to. The DI and fan works properly too.
  18. Markbass Mini CMD 121P IV Bass Guitar Combo. Here is my Markbass Mini CMD Bass combo - it’s the very latest version of the combo, I bought it from GAK in November of this year and it has been used twice but I prefer my larger rig so this is up for grabs. It’s as new and boxed - it even smells new! These combos retail at well over £650 new if you can find one in stock. See the blurb from Markbass below. Pickup preferred but I can post in the original packaging at the buyer's cost. Probably £25 via Interparcel. No trades on this sorry. > UNPARALLED POWER/WEIGHT RATIO After years from its initial release in the 2005, this combo continues to lead the pack when it comes to big sound from a small package. The sound that comes from this amp simply does not match what you see when you look at such a small cube. > UPDATED 4 BAND EQ, OLD SCHOOL FILTER, 3 WAY SWITCH Our updated 4 band EQ section features very effective controls allowing you to easily find the sound you want, boosting or cutting up to 16dB for each of the 4 bands to cover all the tonal nuances needed in any genre of music. Additionally the Old School filter cuts your high frequencies and gives a round and smooth tone. The 3 way rotary-switch allows you to choose between a super-balanced flat tone, a scooped preset that drops the mids while boosting the lows and highs - giving a superb slap sound, or lastly the 'FSW' option to control both mute and the Scooped EQ on demand by connecting an optional dual footswitch. > BI-BAND LIMITER Our new bi-band limiter responds faster and more dynamically to your playing than traditional limiters do and lets your high end "breathe" for a more natural sound. It makes our amp heads the best choice for anyone who enjoys a quick, punchy attack at high volumes. > POWERFUL STACK WITH NEW YORK 121 EXTENSION CABINET If you add the New York 121 to the Mini CMD 121P combo, you’ll have a 500W 2x12” stack able to fill a large venue with headroom to spare. > TAKES UP VERY LITTLE ROOM ON STAGE Even when stacked on a New York 121 cabinet (which has the same dimensions), this combo creates a footprint on stage of only 15” x 14”. You'll never have a problem fitting this rig on even the smallest of stages!

  19. This is a lovely example of a Marathon, it was mine. Very nice bass, I’d be tempted myself but I’m downsizing my collection. Whoever buys it will get a bargain!

  21. Case is in good vintage condition, it came with a 1976 Fender bass I sold on. All catches/hinges work and the compartment is fine, original logo is present. No keys. Part of my grand clear-out. U.K. only I can post but it will be extra as it’s a heavy old case. Internally it’s clean and doesn’t smell of old cigarettes or cabbage.
