Yes, it was more about just taking off the old fret edges, filling the slots and sanding smooth, but wondered if there is any better/worse option to try whilst I had it in bits. Maple veneer ordered, and now trying to decide whether to try a Tru-oil finish or poly varnish on the FB (only intending to use flats).

Ah, that possibly makes more sense! Not looking to change anything in particular but if a specific radius would work better for fretless than fretted I could go with that - otherwise I’ll just stick with what it’s got.

Help builders! I have just removed the frets from a Yamaha RBX as an experiment. Fret removal went perfectly, so now I need to fill the slots and sand the board. I just have no idea as to what should be the perfect radius for the board. The Yamaha website suggests there's no difference between fretted and fretless, with a 10deg radius. Should I just stick with that?

I went with the family to the cinema today, and to my surprise before the trailers, there was an advert for a Fender Jazz Bass! Featuring The Idles, and seemingly filmed in and around Bristol (including the room in Factory Studios that my band rehearses in!) it has the band's bassist eulogising about how great his Jazz is, with lots of close ups of a very lush yellow bass. Anyone else seen it? I think it's the first time I've ever seen a musical instrument advertised in the mainstream media.

I’m primarily a drummer, and I play bass as a secondary instrument. Ive been able to read charts for years - it’s really useful for dep gigs and stuff with big bands etc. I was recently asked to play bass for a sort of ‘casual orchestra’ and I realised after 20 years of playing to drum scores I really struggled with reading pitched scores!

Drummer was definitely live. Some triggering as well though.

May I just step in and correct what appears to be an implicit misconception? If you have agreed to play a pub for a fee at an agreed time, you [b]do[/b] have a legally binding and therefore enforcible agreement. If you have a written contract, then that's even better, but just because the terms are not written down doesn't mean they aren't legally binding.

A few misconceptions here. Firstly, if the story is true (I've no reason to doubt, I just haven't actually seen it though!) then Kanye will not be suing Lloyds - as it isn't an insurance company - it's a marketplace for syndicates of underwriters to transact insurance business. Secondly, the syndicate in question won't have to prove Kanye's mental health or otherwise - the policy will most likely be written on terms that respond to the happening or otherwise of a particular incident (the insured perils). If the cancellation was not as a result of one of these insured perils, the policy won't respond. Perils would be storm, civil unrest, equipment failure, physical injury and other similar ones. If it's not specified, it's not covered. The burden of proving it falls within cover is on Kanye - so, say he claims illness as a reason for cancellation; firstly they would check whether it's covered, and if not, they've reject his claim. It all depends on the terms he agreed beforehand. So if cannabis psychosis (or other mental health issues) are not within the scope of cover, the policy would not respond. Noone's using mental health as an excuse or stigmatising it.

I've got a 60w I picked up for a bargain price a few years ago, and whilst I can't really play guitar very well (or bass, for that matter ) it sounds great, and has held its own in a live environment. The beauty of it is is that it has a DI so once you have the sound dialled in, you can go straight into the PA.

No, because the transaction is conducted in accordance with the agreement between the parties on eBay's terms which therefore constitute express terms between the parties. Anyway, all I wanted to point out was a buyer shouldn't automatically assume it's at the seller's risk until delivered.

I think we're slightly talking at cross purposes - but in the sections I quoted, "ownership" is transferred when the contract is made, which would be when the funds are transferred in the absence of anything agreed to the contrary.
