2.
Emergency Medical Technician...none the wiser? Think Paramedic but with only 8 drugs...
Ah ... TLAs eh? Cooool. I learned the rudiments of sax on night shift in a loud environment Saved annoying the neighbours ...
 3. That looks great .. I've just got an Artec SE2A for my Project SX P bass. No room for the battery so I need to fit a rear battery box. Is it hard to do with a basic hand router?
 4.
r u sure that the 73 precision guard is original? the reason I ask is that I can't see any tug bar holes
You can see the holes are at the top in the thumb rest position .. but I want to know what "Scratcholate" is Is that a chocolate scratchplate as in "about as much use as a chocoloate scratchplate"? I guess you could lick it during long drum solos
 5.
the clue is in my username, if you want to know what I do
er Ear, Mush and Throat surgeon? Egg, Mushroom and Tomato sandwich maker? Early Music Technician? Electronic Music Tutor?
 6.
No money isn't the main motive and I agree when we do cr*ppy gigs like that a film, pizza and bottle of wine holds far greater attraction. However I still get the buzz when we do a good gig, though that is offset these days a bit as I'm not really into the music that we are going down the route of (a band meeting was held for that one when I threw my rattle out the pram over some ludicrous song choices for a pub covers band). I'm doing a bit of musical soul searching at the moment hence the recent Warwick sales etc but I'm still not quite where I want to be... time for that wine cork to pop me thinks!
Or time to build a new band .....
 7.
They asked me what that was, and I replied: "6 basses, 4 guitars, 1 upright bass, 3 amp heads, 3 cabinets, a bass combo, a guitar combo, 2 pedal boards and a box of leads".
Well that makes me feel better
 8.
It's arrived and isn't in bad condition for the price. Weirdest way I've ever seen of packing a bass - he stuck the label onto the gigbag, and taped a bit of bubble wrap around the headstock Surprisingly its fine - neck feels similar to an SX 62 Jazz, but slightly more closed...will do for leaving at work...
And sent it Parcel Post? Wow, risky..... You get to play at work? So does it sound like an ordinary SX jazz?
 9.
I've never used one in the last 20 years, I've always booked our gigs, unfortunately this new band has an enthusiastic singer that is intent on filling the diary asap at what ever cost (or low cost).
I'd suggest a band meeting .. Are you that desperate for the money? I think I'd rather stay on and watch telly than play a gig like that...
 10.
Sh*te! Arrived to be informed the bands are expected to play till 12.00 (no prior warning of this), we finally agree on 11.20. Only to be told that the fee the 'agent' negotiated was wrong and regardless, the fee that we do get means that we have to pay him out of that = £180 minus his 20%... scr*w that. Phone call to the agent and an agreement that we can keep the £180 as it is a cancellation that we are covering another band. We then find out we can't soundcheck or basically do anything till after the rugby as there are 2 regulars that have been in all day watching the 3 matches and they 'will' be seeing the end of the England game uninterrupted. The final straw; the pub has a noise level measuring device fitted! Luckily ( ) I couldn't trip it no matter how hard I tried... and Oh how I tried, it would have been the excuse that I needed to b*gger off home. Sometimes out of adversity comes triumph; not this time, the locals thought we were some kind of jukebox and if they shouted out a number we should be expected to know it... "Well at least play some f*ckin Glam you w*nkers, you lot are sh*t you are". Hmmm and I do this for pleasure!
Sound like you need a few new agents, mate ...
 11.
Bilbo's Wal Custom Fretless - oh, I've already got that. Anyone got a Fodera Anthony Jackson Signature 6 I can drool over?
Nick Brown's got a Fodera Anthony Jackson Presentation 6 string ... 12.
I don't think anyone has a Lull on here yet...so can't GAS for that,
Mike Lull eh? You may want to go to / stay away from Jam Guitars in Bristol then Jam Guitars' Mike Lull basses My list starts with Dood's Purple/Green/Orange/Pink note eater Shuker 7 ... 99ster's 1960 Jazz, Jase's avatar Jazz, OldHorseMurphy's forthcoming Shuker Precision 5 with two pickups
 13.
No-one want my Wishbass then? Everyone I've met off basschat independently of anywhere else has said 'your the Wishbass guy'. Gonna be rocking it in the Culpa if I get a chance.
I hope you are bringing it to the bash .....

 18.
I just have to say that I don't think your comment to Ped was either warranted or proportionate to what he said. And in your fervour to be as apparently abrasive as you can summon you managed to denigrate someone else (Kiwi) who had not even spoken on the topic. Peds observation was a viewpoint, something it appears you believe that you are the only person to have validty in holding. Please refrain from insulting people in this way. Its ugly and not commensurate with the tone of this community.
+1
 19.
Great video, but it went a bit weird at about 1:11 - I had to slap the side of my monitor to get the picture back
Life was like that then
 20.
I think Bill's thrown his pick away I saw him do a two-hour set last Tuesday with the Rhythm Kings and he used his thumb all the way through. Used a Steinberger headless as well.
Yeah That's on my "famous people's basses I'd like" list
 21. Oh for a Mojo-ometer
 22.
Bill Wyman. But he doesn't use a finger rest. I think Duck Dunn only used his thumb as well.
Nah Duck's a fingers man, at least some of the time. Time is tight, live http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHq4laFwAEM And Bill's a pick man, at least some of the time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWMxSk3NZl0...feature=related But at others a thumb man http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEefARQlfN8...feature=related I suspect they used different techniques for different effects like most of us.
 23.
Made a nice sound but felt weird and was very slow
Yup It has it's uses .. and, of course, you can hang on to that rest thing whils you double thumb your way through some Victor Wooton exercises (ha ha not really)
 24. http://www.hardcase.com/hardware_cases.htm Just in case ho ho ho ha ha
 25. Sometimes ... It gives a different sound, nice fat and round, especially if you pluck the strings over the end of the fingerboard .. Good for fat soft reggae sounds, root-fifth country and western etc...
