1.
Hi, I live close to Guildford, any chance I could pop round and view tomorrow (Monday) sometime during the day? Ian
pm sent
  2.
Who did your Pickguard ? Is that one of Jeannies ??
Yes Les it was he.
  3.
Now you told me this was a keeper lol
That was then. Things have changed and I need something else for the new band so something has to go. It could have been the Shuker but I've recently bonded with it. It could have been the pre-EB Ray but no-one has the money to buy it so regretably this is next as I won't sell the pink Jazz.
  4.
Just lifted this photo off TalkBass - seems there will be a Berg AE212 4 ohm, cab out soon ..
Why do they do this to me? Arghhhh.
  5. Even though this a superb bass it is now superfluous to my current needs and sadly has to go to make way for an incoming Godin fretless. It has a matched pair of Lindy Fralin pickups with separate CTS stack knob pots (250K/250K) for each. When the Gallery did the routing for the J-pickup I also had them put in a side-mounted jack and a rear battery box jsut in case I wanted to add a pre-amp at a later date. I will include a generic hard case. £770 plus postage. Collection welcome.
  6. How was my gig last night? Very different. Recently joined 5 others in an accoustic jug band. The last two weeks Tuesday night's accoustic jams were the rehearsals and last night we did about an hour at a local festival which was raising money for the Chase Children's Hospice in Guildford. The audience seemed to like it and we have subsequently been given offers of other gigs. Band comprises ukeleles, guitars, banjos, violin and for the first time ever, me on my very cheap double bass. Definitely need some decent strings, tweak it a bit, maybe invest in a smaller amp (MB F1 and Epi UL112 was a bit overkill) and most importantly try and improve my technique..
  7. Squire Vintage Modified Fretless Jazz strung with TI flats. Excellent conditon (pix later). £140 plus postage or collection welcome. Just checked and it is completely unblemished.

Sad as this siiituation is, what about the NHS which has treated a number of us succesfully.
  9.
Kings Lynn, Norfolk.
That's a shame. A bit too far to collect. Very interested.
  10.
Bump and a tastey reduction. £650 collected. I noticed the photo looks a bit bleached out. In reality the top of the Bass is a more mellow tan colour.....easier on the eye.
Collected from where?
  11. Jack, talk to Alien (Andy). He made one for me to fit to one of Higgies pedals a couple of years ago.
  12. The signal going to a powered monitor is typically a line-level signal. Depending on the mixer and the monitor it can be balanced or unbalanced but must be screened. Mic cables is best for this however an instrument lead is equally suitable in cases where both ends are unbalanced. Certainly do not use a speaker lead as they have no screening, will pick-up interference, can become microphonic and can potentially create howl-round. An unscreened speaker lead is only suitable for connecting a power amp to a speaker.
  13. Go and talk to Joe White in Farnborough Michael.
  14. I use Lo-Riders on all my basses. Superb on the Status necked Sr5.
  15.
The main thing I don't like about graphite necks is the sticky-feeling glossy finish on them.
My experience is totally the opposite. Graphite is clean smooth and fast. Wood is slow and sticky.
  16.
.....look awful.
Discuss.
  17.
Thanks for your help guys, but after last nights gig using a newly aquired SWR750 the sound from this cab has gone to a new level. The guys in the band are begging me to keep it. There didnt seem to be much interest anyway, so i have decided to hold on to it. Thanks for selling this to me Dave it really was worth every penny.
Just for a moment I wasconsidering last night if I wanted to have it back again. Just for a moment though.
  18. This is a superb cab and I can thoroughly recommend it. I gigged it several times and it always sounded superb with the AD200B.
  19.
Surely the p/g wouldn't fit if this were the case.
Could be if it was custom made to fit a non-standard bass with a different bridge.
  20. Looks to me as if the pick-up is too far back. Please can you take off the scratch plate and take a photo of the bare body from the neck to the bridge.
  21.
Talk about luck! I did a post on the EB forum and fellow has emailed me and offered me a pre-EB bridge for $150 with a brand new mute assembly. He said it's got hollow saddles so it's pre-EB but not through-body stringing, which is what I need! It's used with some scratches and a little rust in some areas but overall very good condition for its age. It has the mute screws but not the mute spring assembly. Said he has an assembly he has one he can add on to it the deal as well. Thoughts? He has said he would throw in a new set of the two large screws that are on either side of the saddles but said I would have to check your bass to see if the original bushings for those two screws are still in the bass. What are these?!
Well done. Very lucky to find the bridge. Here's a picture of the bridge on mine with the two large screws that hold the bridge to the body clearly visible.
  22.
Ill PM you the details.
Thanks.
  23.
Yes, ive already given it to the OP. The thing is my cab had two new drivers when i sold it so i doubt its the same one. And it was a couple of years ago now.
Reason I ask is that I have a UL212 that I acquired from a BCer last year. I'm wondering if it's your old one.
  24.
Ill go through my PMs and see if i can find the buyer. Im pretty sure he sold it on though.
Do you know the serial number of yours?
  25.
Now up until now I put the songs on my pc and have to use two headphones to hear the bass on one coming from the amp and another one coming from my pc with the song I’m learning. Now I want to be able to use just one, what’s the best way to do it? And cheaper way. I want to be able to mix my bass with my pc so I only need one set of headphones and stop disturbing my OH with the sound of the amp. Any suggestions?
If your amp has an FX loop then take the FX send and mix it with the PC output and then return the mix to the FX Return and have your headphones just plugged into the amp. You can do this with a simple mixer or even a matrix of restistors.
