1.
Smaller option needed than the CN then Dave?
Something that would fit easily in the Smart.
2. Is anyone bringing a Barefaced Midget that I can try? Does anyone need any specific cables made and brought along?
3.
Based in London according to his website http://www.bassandbiscuit.com/
The why not say so. It's so much more customer friendly.
4. It would be helpful to indicate where you are located.
5. Some weeks ago a Sadowsky UV70 appeared in the For Sale section. It was just what I was looking however the seller, jack_b was in Poland, which meant there was no way I could go and look before buying. I contacted Jack and he answered all my questions about the bass. We agreed the price and then to my surprise Jack offered, as I was a long established Forum member, to ship it to me saying I could pay him after it had arrived. Everything went according to plan. The UV70 is exactly as described and it arrived promptly with no damage. I certainly have no reservations about dealing with Jack again.
6. So that's why you need the new cable.
Did he ever get sorted? As I have one of these http://www.roland.co...ails.aspx?p=698 with a flight case that I'm just in the process of putting on her via the for sale section ..... when I figure out how to pay the £20 or whatever.
Not sure what's happening as I decided to leave the band and havebn't been in touch with him for quite a few weeks.
8. Two 8-ohm cabs in parallel gives a total IMPEDANCE of 4-ohms.
9. Thanks for the heads-up Colin. We are there in October so I'll get it checked.
10. As a temporary fix it will be fine however if you plan to do it regularly I would recommend replacing the complete combo cable with a longer one that will reach both amps.
11.
Has anybody tried using these with an active bass? I got a cable with one of the Neutrik silent jacks only to discover that it isn't really compatible with actives. Sometimes it works silently, sometimes it gives a loud pop as the active circuit gets fired up (or turned off).
Neutrik have a warning about this on their web site. 12. Excellent. Thanks for the plug
13. Neck width at Nut is 42.3mm Sorry but I have no idea what profile it is. How can I find out?
14. ADC = Analogue to Digital Converter DAC = Digital to Analogue Converter.
15. Cracking piece of work. Somehow "excellent" doesn't go halfway to describing how good it is. Very well done. May the bookings come rolling in.
16.
This is still here teasing me... You mention you were interested in sadowsky? I have a rv4 with p/j pickups, candy apple red. Less than 6 months old. Be interested in trade with cash my way?
I was looking but now have a UV70 so really wanting to sell this now.
17. While on the subject of the For Sale section why can't I edit the sale/trade value when I revise the price?
18. Well I finally went and bought myself a proper bass. Thanks jack_b. Can't wait to gig it on Thursday. Feels good, even if a tad heavy, and sounds great.
19. Well worth seeing. As Kiwi says I was in a band that supported Bill a few years back but it wasn't this line-up. (Well remembered Steve - The Bull at Barnes I think). He truly is the Master of the Telecaster and an amazingly nice and talented guy with his own style of Dieselbilly music. In the bus he used to keep us amused with tales of touring with the Grateful Dead. A friend of mine organises his tours and he uses our town as his base and quite often does an extra gig for his local friends as a warm-up. When he was over last time I had a chat with Maurice about 'his 51 Precision and he showed me that it is not a Fender but a custom copy. He is just so layed back in his playing and spent at least half the gig perched on a stool, so you can sit down and play. 20. Depends if you need balanced or not. Guitar cable is fine for unbalanced. Mic cable is fine for balanced. Neither are good for speakers.
Hi Dave, He's a good player but I never rated Ian's Warwick combo!
It's not Ian any more Chris. He upped sticks and departed. Thanks for the info. I'll pass it on.
