1. Mighty Mite is very good if you're working to a budget. The next up would be Allparts. Dangleberrymusic.co.uk do some decent ones too but they'd probably be less good than Mighty Mite.
 2. Can't believe no one's mentioned Manring...
 3. I would have though £600 tops for this relatively recent example. But who knows? G&Ls are certainly attracting higher prices these days. Maybe the seller is mistaking the rather "rude" sounding L-1500 for the more desirable and sweeter sounding L-1000. 4.
Now on eBay
Aw that's a shame. I was thinking about one of these but I won't have the beans for a couple of weeks.
 5.
Well, that's knackered that then....
Wa-hey it's finally a headless. Nice one. I don't know about knackerd, it was probably more knackerd before you cut that last bit off eh so a definite improvement already. Looks like you got a bit lucky with the final few mil of you cut too - if it had been any other place you'd be looking at a bit of remedial right now, but it's good that it happened at the thickest part... and a bit you wanted to remove anyway. So where did you deliver the final coup de grâce, out at your dad's or your own workshop (soon to be Jayne's studio )
 6.
damnit! And theres no decent music stores near me! Does anyone want to sell me one please?
I can't find anything on the net about replacements. Perhaps a hardware store would have something. Try Howard (The Bass Doc) he might be have some spares.
 7. Bugger, mono bridges. Not the most common of bridges.
 8. I dunno mate. Have you got a pic of the bridge? Maybe it's a common make.
 9. If one of the grub screws off your Fenders fits then your laughing, as replacements for them are pretty easy to find. If not, try Yamaha themselves. Start by trying a Fender one first though.
 10.
What's that bear doing to him ?
Nuttin', it's just how he gets from A to B.
 11. Wrestler on a Bear is kinda cool...
 12.
Why spend£1100 when you can have a second hand 3eq ray for around £700?
Yeah, and why have a 3eq when you could have a 2eq for the same money?
 13. Just a quick update for the Pingray. I removed the Stingray pup and replaced it with a Delano MC4AL. Not because I didn't like it, I feel the experiment was a success, but at the end of the day matching Delanos would be better. The Delano obviously sounds similar to the Stingray pup but has a more modern, slightly scooped quality about it - which is ok but as you know I do love that humpy 'ray tone. Also the Delano wasn't a simple drop in job. It is about half a mil too long in both directions, so a careful bit of filing of the pickguard was in order to nip it in. While I was at it, I ditched the Seymour Duncan STC-2P's "slap switch" option (which I never used - and had completely forgotten about until someone PMed me the other day to ask what it was like ) and used the leftover push pull switch to take advantage of the series / parallel possibility with the new Delano. The result is that I can now choose between Stingray or SUB wiring at the flick (pull) of a switch to blend with the P pup. Very cool. (if I ever get around to it I'll get the sound clips done) matching pups...
 14.
Ah yes, those wonderful old Commandore basses ... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/commandore-bass-...=item2a12edc6c0
Was the description written by the copper form 'ello 'ello? "THERE AR A FEW BATLE MARKS AND AT SOMETIME BEFOR I HAD IT THE PIPPING ARUND THE HEAD......."
 15. Don't feel sorry. Check out his negs. Sounds like a chancer douche.
 16.
If it was good enough for Jaco...! The holes not the bass
True true. Actually I buy shirts using the exact same criteria?
 17.
Got carried away and bought that Columbus, now not so sure why I did!
Remember a bit of "filler" and some "touch-up paint" will sort it out.
 18. I've PMed the seller twice now, both with no reply. The second PM was letting him know that I would either buy them here or for cheaper at Stringbusters but I need to know now yes or no. Both PM have been read - the first at 10:07 the second at 01:27 and he's been on and off here all day. So I guess he just doesn't want to sell them.... and is rude enough too to make me miss the last post from Stringbusters. Welcome to the forum buddy.
 19.
Columbus jazz £50 BIN and will post, grab it fast.
And it was found in the loft too. Who would have believed that? From the description .... "and the main finger-plate is missing ( it actually looks better like this, but the screw holes for attaching the plate are visible - bit of filler and touch-up paint would sort this out)". I hate people who lie about "simple" little jobs like that in their descriptions.
 20. It's hard to imagine the 2eq being any simpler than it already is.
 21.
Lemmy, for putting down his old bass because of tuning problems only to pick it up again because it was LOUDER than his backup....
Haha fantastic.
 22.
easy - the basswood option is for basswood, whereas the other one - the one that says basswood is for basswood.
Ah crap, I thought it was the other way round. The poll won't make sense now. Sorry.
 23. More of a step sideways. It's personal taste mate. The difference in body thickness will have little to no affect on what comes out of your speakers... your back may have something to say about it though.
 24.
Ah right, so is it only "I've got wood" when your shouting or when you have the plastic Mac on then ??
Busted.
