1. I have flats on 2 of mine - the Shuker '51 is sporting some Status Hotwires (my first recommendation to anyone) and my G&L L-1000 has TI's which epitomises for me the creamy old school P tone.
2. Haha I can't believe I actually used to rock out to them... when I wasn't to wrecked that was.
3. What's that trippy finish? It's stunning.
4.
But why? And I still want to know if you bothered muting the strings other than the one you're tuning...
Not a problem for the Polytune just strum them all (in standard tunings) and it tells which strings to tune.
5. I've had some SH*T one's before but never tried SIT ones. Looks like they are US only though.
6. Bought some paint off Lewis. Smooth dealio. Cheers. Rich.
7. ... or guys who like J necks. linky Looks a little odd with that SB headstock - but it's not by any means unheard of George & Leo to be so accommodating. I've seen one like this before. Mahogany I presume.
8. You sound like you've got your head screwed on - stick to the above and you'll be fine. Check out Wizard pickups for something a bit "custom" with a good name and price point.
9. You're on it mate. Scan the "musically related" part of the FS section and also put up some ads in the "wanted" section. Ebay, Dangleberry, Axesrus, WD music etc all good too.
10.
Interesting development, just got this back from the seller... "Yes, it has those pickups, my mate who is the guitarist told me to get those and he fit them himself."
Me no speaky Eenglish. Me not on Basschat so me no see me busted big time.

12.
Fixed it for you.
13. I hope that whoever the poor sod that buys it collects in person. Those plastic mirror type p/g's shatter quite easily. That one looks to be under so much stress with the cheapo pups being amateurishly jammed in there that I doubt it'll take the bashing that it will undoubtedly get in the post.
14.
Excuse my dumbness, but how can you tell it's a Squier and not a Fender, when it says Fender on the headstock and the photos don't really show you much?
Without even looking at the pics, the fact that he's admitted to there not being a serial number is your starter for ten.
15. +1 to Guy for great service. I've only ever bought clear plastic ones off him as I make my own wooden ones.
16. No point emailing him. He knows what it is. He claims to know nothing about basses and yet has recently bought knobs, various guitar screws and a crappy £14 pickup for it...... oh and he's also recently purchased a t-shirt that says BASSIST on it. Pure scum.
17.
OK - probably just a hanger - imagine how many basses you could fit in a hangar?
I wouldn't mind trying.
18. My J5 is routed for J4 pups. Bartolini do a nice set of J5 pups that fit 4 string routs (in fact I have one in my spares box). As do EMG Selects - contrary to expectations these sound really nice btw. At the moment I have Bill Lawrence pups in there... and it don't get much better than that.
19. Very cool. Now to get that dusty end access sorted.
20.
I wouldn't call it a volute, just where a flat surface meets a rounded surface
That's a can o' worms that one. Luthiers (and as it follows, those who speak to luthiers) and even large guitar manufactures know that spot as a volute but in the strict classic sense it isn't one.
21. Draw an 11 after the 10 on your amps volume knob.
22. They'll pop straight in... you'll need to drill your own tuner screw holes obviously.
