  1. The mother of all bargains..
  2. I have several TEs - they are all surprisingly loud when you compare them to amps of supposedly similar output. I love the tonal palette too - every tone I want is in there somewhere.
  3. One day I'll fly away - Randy Crawford
  4. While (German) Shepherds watch their flocks by night - Xmas Carol
  5. My back starts hurting just by looking at it...
  6. Ever so lonely - Monsoon
  7. TBH if it was a 5 string it would get more use. The only 4 string I play is a Mania fretless - another bargain.
  8. Me down to one bass??? 😄😁😅😅😂🤣
  9. I have an Aria 4 string with a MM pickup which I don't play - nothing wrong with it (in fact it's nicely balanced, good tone, nice neck) - I have several other 4 string basses I don't play. The resale price of these is ridiculously considering how well built they are and how good they play. I would have loved one as my first/ second bass.
  10. Got to agree with @cetera regarding these being great basses. I foolishly sold mine in a downsizing exercise that didn't work. Hope you don't regret selling this.
  11. Is this one of the neck thru models? I always wanted to convert one to a headless system. Let me know if the headstock gets broken.
  12. Agree with @attackbass. If anything I wish I had a Stingray 5er to trade.
  13. @Al Krow, pm sent..
  14. Are they available with pickups? 😉😉
  15. I remember Arias being highly regarded in the 80s. No idea if they lost their way or if its just a flavour of the month thing but others with long memories should agree.
  16. I would avoid any Hohner with the Select pickups. I had one in the 80s which I initially thought was good but later realised was rubbish. Pickups have low output and limited tonal range.
  17. Thought: isn't this in the wrong thread? Has no musical bearing at all. I think one of the Mods or Admin should move this...
  18. Lonely boy - Andrew Gold (been waiting to use this for ages)
  19. Would be my recommendation. IMO spending more doesn't always get you more.
  20. His latest phlegm- Elvis
  21. Changed the CD in the car earlier - reached into the pile and pulled out Jimi Hendrix greatest hits. It felt like I'd heard every track a million times- forced myself to listen to it even though it was punishing. Next time I'm in the car I'll be swapping it out. Similar experience??
  22. New York, New York - ole blue eyes
  23. Oh, good choice going with a Yamaha.
  24. I can't see any downsides to fitting a new set of strings especially if you are not happy with the existing set. You could use this opportunity to clean the fretboard and even have the bass set up to your own liking. Personally I prefer light gauge strings - you should try different gauges (know any other bassists?) to try to decide what you like.
