  1. I think I have one of these in grey.
  2. Here comes the sun - Cockney Rebel
  3. Been a member 7 hours and the GAS has already got him. Start as you mean to go on.
  4. Welcome to the TE Appreciation Club. They're amazing, aren't they...
  5. I was looking at these on eBay recently as replacement for the roundwounds on my recently acquired G&L. Are they worth a go?
  6. You're right, thank you. Just goes to prove that not even I'm perfect...sorry to disappoint those who believed I was..😉😉
  7. Rob, welcome. You haven't done anything wrong and string choice really is a matter of choice - nothing wrong with your purchase and there is no reason to change the strings. You could alleviate most of the bow on the neck by relaxing the tension a quarter to half turn. Don't overdo it. If this doesn't alleviate the problem completely then the same amount of adjustment the following day will move you closer to where you need to be. Lots of information on the net and as long as you don't overtighten (remember that you are loosening) and snap the truss rod you can't do anything that can't be undone. The bass has been unadjusted for many years so go slowly.
  8. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - the turtles themselves
  9. I've found that sometimes corporate incompetence can work in the customer's favour. My brother complained to NTL when they had the TV contract (before Virgin got the contract). To reimburse him for their error they gave him all the channels, including the film and the porn channels, supposedly for a month. They never turned this compensation off. I think he had this till Virgin took over. Amazingly incompetent ...
  10. Crocodile tears - Jimmy Nail
  11. Members of our local dog walkers WhatsApp group are making their own liver cake for the dogs. I wonder how that would sound?? Tasty??
  12. Venus in blue jeans - Jimmy Clanton
  13. I think there's a GK 4x10 on ebay currently.
  14. I've got three different dual cases but TBH they rarely leave my home. Carrying two basses in one case is a bit more tiring than you might imagine.
  15. Not convinced that modern bridge works visually with the vintage style look of the bass either.
  16. I love these discussions. People using science to argue their point when in the real world very few people, even musicians, can tell any difference. Pretty sure Joe Average can't. Anybody who has attended a Bass Bash and participated in any of the various tests will know that most people can't even identify their own basses, never mind fretboard material, active/ passive, cheap or expensive. If the OP is looking for a lightweight timber, can I suggest that you keep your advice to that topic.
  17. Falling in love again - Marlene Deitrich
  18. My recently acquired BB605 is very similar to my BBG5S - not really sure how they differ TBH. I'm sure that @AndyTravis does.
  19. Retro is very "now" if that makes sense.
  20. I'm not a Rick fanboi but I like the look of that. Black hardware really works.
  21. Here comes the rain again - Eurythmics
  22. I was talking to my amp tech about valve availability recently. He doesn't rate the Chinese replacements but availability of the superior Russian valves has stopped due to the conflict. You may need to hope that back stock is available from places like Bass Direct.
  23. You better you bet - The Ooo
  24. Little Willy - The Sweet
  25. It's raining men - The Weather Girls
