Feels like there's some support for this. What is the next step to actually getting the money to @Dood? Questions though. What if we all chip in and raise the required funds. How much are we talking about? Are we "buying" the bass from Dan and leaving it with him on permanent loan? Could Dan still sell the bass in the future or does the Shuker then belong to the BC collective and can't be sold - a sort of trust? I want to clarify otherwise we're just lending/ giving Dan money.

There are a number of basses I've always thought would look better headless and have held out trying to find one with a broken headstock. Well now it's happened - 1981 Aria Pro SB1000 - a la John Taylor of Duran Duran - but I've been moving away from 4 string basses so I'm torn - do you/ don't you?? It's cheap currently but postage from France is silly - would still reasonably priced if the electronics hadn't been scavenged. Also it's red - I try to avoid red basses. If it had been green... I have a friend - an only child - who moves from one hobby to the next without any concern for the expense. Golf, RC cars, bicycle, mopeds, his Subaru - threw money at all of them. Another mutual friend described him by saying "Stewart isn't happy with a hobby unless he can throw money at it".

IIRC there was a similar thread recently - again I think it was about Amazon supplied strings. Seems to be becoming more common. Hope whoever is responsible gets their come-uppance.

I acquired a 6 string Spector a few days ago (Thanks @Tjhooker) and felt I needed to start at the beginning with some basic lessons. Found this on YT - really helpful for the beginner.
