  1. Q: Would adding a strip of leather on the pickups affect the signal?
  2. Now finished with a leather scratchplate.
  3. So from here: to here: in a couple of weeks I'm not disappointed.
  4. I went with the tan ultimately. It kept the natural tone thing going which the white didn't. It was a bit of an experiment finding double sided tape which stuck to the bass - I ended up having to clean some of the Lemon oil off with a detergent spray for the Mammoth Powerful Grip tape to stick. A firm press/ rub over on the leather with the handle of a Stanley knife encouraged better adhesion. Going to let it settle before the final step of checking the wiring and plugging it in. Here it is:
  5. I'd rather have one of these than a Mustang. What is the RRP for this?? Wow!! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/115413481418?var=0&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5338749374&toolid=20006&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A1u_N4BKMiRXqX52cFljFdNA98&customid=GB_619_115413481418.145620983889~2062689180872-g_CjwKCAjw4ZWkBhA4EiwAVJXwqbXGr8WrVa29T45vfjl2kVLO9ZWgKqs-LYkWGbE6lKIsH5syHxrBKBoCSpcQAvD_BwE

  11. Home - Michael Buble
  12. HEEEELP!! Finished the refurb on my Spector 6er but (unsurprisingly) having issues with the wiring. I have a lose black wire which I think goes to the jack socket (red to blue) and a little black box with red/black/white wires which I think goes to the volume pot but that only has two points (not three) as on the black box. (Black to red). If not any idea where?? Finally the 18v batteries seem to be on their own loop - do they plug into the same circuit as the jack wire (green) There is a connector out of shot. 14. Sorry...I'm with @ricksterphil on this - Bass Collection build quality for £150 - can't go wrong.
  15. Isn't somebody after one of these in the Wanted ads?
  16. I've started on the tan - should be finished tomorrow. I'll make both and post photos. My feeling currently is that the white doesn't match the body tones where as the tan is in the same palette. We'll have to see.
  17. Frost and Fire - EBTG
  18. IMO Rob has already justified his right to be a member here by making me (two) pairs of pickup surrounds which greatly improve the appearance of my Fender Modern Player jazz 5er. I wish everyone was as helpful as Rob..
  19. I keep looking at the Sire P range...cos I need another bass (sic).
  20. £4.50?? I bet that there were people complaining about ticket prices at the time.
  21. Ice Ice Baby - Vanilla Ice
  22. There was one on ebay recently - didn't look in any way special. I passed on it. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/325680904165?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=aNIBP-b0SRK&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  23. I'm not a big fan of either in their own right, I think that they compliment each other so I'm a PJ proponent ...Best of both worlds IMO.
  24. I have a cream neck pup cover somewhere...send me the measurements of the cover you need and I'll see if it would fit. Alternatively, PM superhero @rwillett who recently printed some pup surrounds for my Fender Modern Player.
  25. I think that there is definitely a place for cream pickups especially with a maple fretboard and a cream/ peach/ natural pastel palette. Like you I had a nightmare finding a cream PJ set but the effort was worth it IMO.
