I tried out a Mag 300 head through a Markbass 2x10, and it sounded wonderful. I compared it to a Hartke Lh500 head with the same cab, and the ashdown was far better. A nice warm tone, but you can easily dial in a Hi fi slap tone. It was very versatile. When I got back I read all the horrible things that were said about them on here, and got a bit confused Maybe cabs change the sound more than I thought.

Looking great How much would one of these CNC machines set me back?

I use a BTB as my main bass, its very, very good. It plays like butter and the electronics are superb. I would highly recomend ibanez, ive never played a bad one. I dont realy understand whats so special about it

Ive been playing for around 2 years, and I like to think ive gotten quite good. I get quite a few compliments gigs, but one question comes up quite alot. "Why do you play bass and not guitar?" I find it quite hard to awnser, ive always prefered bass, and it comes more naturaly to me than guitar. Somthing my drummer said anoyed me, "Your to good to play bass, you should be our guitatist" . Anyone else pondered on this before?

So I used to play somthing realy fast to try to make myself look better Fortunately ive calmed down and I now play in my usual fasion. It also helps that my nearest shop is Mansons, who are a very helpfull bunch

I would try them all out if you can, but I would go for ibanez, very nice thin necks and versitile tones.

I heard that a sawmill near me might be selling kiln dried ash in varying sizes, im temped to go get some.

So would wood from my local sawmill be rubbish for guitar making?

I would say in the middle of medium to high. I find playing too low feels a bit silly, but mark king hight hurts my chest

im a tad confused as to what tonewoods actualy are. im guesing that they are higher quality and more resonant that normal hardwoods. But how does this work? Also if i were to go down to my local sawmill and ask for quartersawn ash, would it be good for making a bass out of? Cheers Mike

Im looking at making some bass related youtube videos, covers and such. But I have no idea how to do it Im thinking of buying a good hd webcam with a good micraphone. Any ideas? Help Is much apreciated Mike

Ive now wasted about £15 on bateries when I was leaving it in, I feel very silly now Shows how much I know about electronics

Ahh i now see my stuipidity, i know nothing about preamps but im guessing that if you leave the lead in then it switches it on and drains battery?

My ibanez chews through batteries quite fast, it always has, maybe like 3-5 months. But lately its been 3-4 weeks! 9v's are expensive so im thinking of rechargeables. Anyone had this? Or is there somthing wrong with the preamp in my bass? The preamp is a bartolini one that came with it. Cheers Mike
