ibanez

i've always loved ibanez bass's. My btb is perfect for me. But i was looking at the higher end ibanez range, and there doesnt seem to be a whole lot of choice. Anyone out there have or has tried out any of the £1000 plus models?
2. Oh my, that looks fansastic! Why on earth would you want to sell that?
3.
Overjoyed. A million mistakes and half the tune but oh well. Jake
Amazing tone, and great playing

New to Bass

+1 on the Yamaha, very versatile bass. And for an amp marshal make very good and affordable combo's. And the best place to find gear IMO is here, you can get great stuff for good prices in the for sale section.
6. That was amazing, i just wish the guitarist could have played a different chord once in a while

Tc eletronic
I`ve got the Classic, and when using it, my band all said that they thought it fitted better within the mix of the band, rather than just sitting at the bottom of the mix. I`ve used it through a Marshall 412, Ampeg 410 & 210, and an Eden Nemesis 410, and it sounds great through all of them. Great little piece of kit, and very versatile, clean modern sounds to filthy tube sounds.
I also thought it gave a great modern tone, on the website they gave the impression it only gave a vintage sound. How are the TC cabs compared to others?
9. I went into Mansons with my bass today to try out amps and the tc electronic range caught my eye. The RH450 looked lovely but was out of my price range so i tried out the classic 450. I was blown away by the sound. I was playing through a TC 210 and it was very, very load. The amp seems briliant and with a great price. Any opinions on this? Also anyone have a better option for this price range? Cheers Mike
10. i fancy somthing to keep me busy in the summer, so im thinking about making my own bass cab to match the head im going to buy. (Hartke HA3500 or Mag 300) Celestion speakers seem to be the ones to go for and the cab will be made out of plywood. How do you guys think it will compare to the real thing?
11. im asuming postage is out of the question
12. Thanks for all the advise, i seem to have started a few arguments i think im leaning towards the squier as ive heard there isnt alot of difference between them and mim's, especialy not £250 worth. Any recomended preamps?
13. ive played a few mim jazz's and i always found the pickups too noisy and the bridges a tad flimsy. i assumed it would be worse on the squier. it seems i was wrong
14. For my next bass i'm either going to buy a second hand Squier vintage modified jazz, and put in some bartolini's and a high mass bridge. Or a fender jazz standard Any opinions?
15. i personaly wouldent spend that much on your first bass, just in case you (for some reason) stop playing. And a p bass seems your best bet. But if you have a local music shop try some out, see what you like.
16. ive been looking at doing some grades, i can play some of the grade 8 peices but my theory is a bit rubbish. Not realy sure on which grade to start on. And good luck with the exam!
17. i know this makes me stupid but... Whats a troll?
18. Fantastic bass, very versitile. Great price too
19. im looking at doing the rockschool grades for bass as i want to get into the exeter college music academy. ive looked at the grade 8 peices and i can play them without too much hassle. Do you guys think theyre a worthwhile thing to do? and which grade should i start at? (im confident with most techniques but my theory is rather lacking)
20. This is one of my favourite acustic guitar songs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ddn4MGaS3N4 And here is an amazing cover on the upright bass. 22.
I think aesthetics are very important to many people. I have no doubt they are great instruments, and beautiful to many. Personally, however, I don't like the look of 'modern' looking basses (except for a perverse attraction towards the Pedulla Buzz). The only Warwicks I've seen that I like the look of are the Star and the Jack Bruce EB3 one, and even then I'd prefer the Gibson versions. I know it's illogical to choose form over function, but that's human nature sometimes. edit: remembered another one I like - the Fortress Flashback
+1 i once played at corvette bubinga, sounded great! But i couldent help but think that the upper horn was going to poke me in the eye. The only warwick i like the look of is the corvette nt $$ ltd, lovely woods.
23. Oh and i dont mind going second hand
24. im looking to enter the world of fretless in the near future, i shall probably have a budget of around 350-400 pounds. Any advise? Cheers mike
