1. me and the drummer own ours outright. it works for us. we are probably the closest 2 anyway in terms of friendship, and he is 60 (i'm 30), so when he hangs up his sticks or kicks the bucket, the pa is mine, all mine i tell ya!!
2. My band www.stateside45.co.uk are playing at the Diamond there this Friday night (28th Jan). Soul; Motown and Northern, if it's your kind of thing. Cheers
3. this made me smile! its the kind of thing my dad would have done a couple of years ago before i taught him how to use 'that internet' and 'that ebay'
4.
It makes them stink and go yellow. That might be a dealbreaker to some people.
This
5. Any interest in a trade with my 1977 guild b-301 fretless? Cheers

8. Bump for trades - what you got?
9. I've just gone and learnt this song inspired by this performance. We play uptight and signed sealed delivered in my band, but I'd never had a crack at this one til this morning. Nice one Higgie, sounds really good man! *goes to practise a bit more!*
10. I've got one of these Westfield p basses and it's brill. So buy it!
11. Just my 2 penneth as we say in Yorkshire..... I've been playing for 10 years+ and have bought and sold and own expensive stuff (see signature below for my current collection), but recently off here I picked up a westfield p copy for 65 quid, albeit with upgraded pickups and a highmass bridge, to use as a 'knockabout' house bass and it sounds and plays lovely. I mostly play soul/motown/northern soul, so my usa precision is usually my gigging bass, but i did a spot with the westfield on saturday and i couldn't tell the difference in sound, neither could the audience/soundman/rest of band......it was 65 quid, so there you go.
12. Hiya mate. Where are you based? Cheers edit - now logged in on computer nstead of iphone and can see you're on the south coast; was hoping you were a bit closer to 'up north'; no worries. Good luck with the sale Cheers
13. If you are after a cheapy knockabout bass, you won't go far wrong with one of the Westfield p bass copies. I picked one up off here the other week, albeit with an upgraded bridge and pickup, for 60 quid, and you know what, it's pretty good. I took it to rehearsal and told the drummer it was a rare 70s fender that had been restored and he commented afterwards that 'it sounds better than all of your others'....look at my signature; I think he was overdoing it a bit, but I'm not scared of knocking it or anything for the money!
14. Avoid it like someone trying to sell you a mattress from the back of a van with 'tree surgeon' hand painted on the side
15. I never knew they made an active version. I have a passive fretted b-302 and it's lovely. I actually gigged it the other week for the first time. I usually just stick to my precision for gigs, but it sounded immense. I wish I could do this fretless justice, but I can't. I sound awful on it , but it sounds lovely! I'd love a USA jazz or a Marcus miller jazz or a 4 string ray. I might just pull it and stick it under the bed though because its been on here for well over 6 months now. Had loads of interest yet it's still here. I don't understand why.
16. I replied within 2 mins of the original post but didn't get a reply
17. Very jealous! Well done. How the other half live eh?
18. Where are you based? In answer to the question above, yes I think it's overpriced, but I might be interested at the right price depending where you are!
19. You've got a point actually, yea! Not that I've played many new basses, but yes, they always do look in a diagonal line. I once had to buy new extra long saddle screws for my status as I couldn't get enough adjustment on the g string saddle to get the intonation spot on. The strings were nylon coated rotosound trubass incidentally. Massively different to whatever I had on it before.
